A well presented and well kept camp. Nice enough stuff. A very large and airy setting area to relax, have free tea/coffee and use the wifi. FYI, this is the only area that wifi is available in the camp and was a little pa itchy over our visit. Still, the internet was a bonus, when considering location. So cant really complain. Otherwise, the buffet dinner was plentiful, fresh and quite tasty. The breakfast was below average, which was a shame. A lot less options and was cold and things ran out when we got there at around 8.30 (7 -9am served). So better to probably get there on he front end. Wish we had another day and night, as it's a decent spot. We were in one of the concrete huts. There are these and the permanent tents, from what I could see. Room/unit were fine, if not on the more basic side. Harder mattresses than you normally find, but I quite like that. There was AC and a fan. No tv. Bathroom was large, but again a little basic looking. Although in keeping with a camp style accommodation. No complaints and is not far from civilisation or the main road, but far enough away to feel like you are away from it all. …
The set up here is perfect for a couple of nights on the edge of this vast desert. I would highly recommend going to the top of the dunes by 4 wheel drive to watch the sunset. We had a perfect day and night here.
We were to go to another camp, however due to expected heavy rains we had to use this camp last minute. The camp is basic, however run well and functional, the rooms have AC which is a plus as the weather gets hotter.
My first time to Arabian oryx but my 3rd camp stay in Sharqiyah sands. I have to say that it is by far the best with the price and location and food variety. Most of the camps are either way to expensive or too basic but Arabian oryx is just the good mix. The camp is big with variety of stay options. The arabic tent is also better established than many others. We stayed in deluxe with 3 beds. Very comfortable and the outside sitting had dunes view. The dinner and the breakfast menu is very elaborate and tasteful. Will go again!
Had dinner here with a tourmate and our guide. There was a very good selection of local food and desserts. All very tasty as well. Seems to be a popular spot as the dining ‘tent’ was pretty crowded. There was a musical performance afterwards, which was nice but the speakers were on too loud so we left shortly after.
