Can’t wait to go back to this gem! Stayed here this past summer and was super impressed with the friendliness and hospitality of the staff, the amazingly fresh and local cuisine and the magnificently breathtaking views. Our one-of-kind room “Helen of Troy” was super clean and included all the amenities needed for a perfect stay. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the island and taking in all that Naxos has to offer. This was truly the best of our Cyclades trip!

Elaiolithos Luxury Retreat is a unique and unforgettable place to stay while visiting Naxos. For people that want to have authentic local experiences while on vacation in Greece and would like to get away from the touristic areas near the beach (which are also lovely), staying at Elaiolithos is like being transported back in time. Located in the mountains near the villages of Moni and Chalki, surrounded by mountains and overlooking a valley filled with olive trees. The locally produced food is amazing, the views are incredible, and the rooms are very charming. Helen the owner, is hands on, putting together customized itineraries and local experiences that far exceeded our already very high expectations. It is centrally located on the island near historic hiking routes that have been used for over 1000 years, only 1 km away from the Holy Paleochristian Church of Panagia Drosiani constructed in 6th century. The hotel is a true paradise and an unforgettable experience in Greece. It's the perfect place to rest and be in contact with nature. The rooms are very comfortable and each one has a unique decoration. In my opinion, the highlights are the incredible breakfast ( the best greek yogurt I ever had) and Ellen, the hotel owner who made our experience even better. All perfect! Car rental is a good option if you want to explore the different corners of Naxos.

Great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Naxos Island, specially if you want to get away from the crowd at the beach and city center. Got to do some yoga in the morning and tried an awesomeee breakfast made with local ingredients!! The owner, Helen even took us to a local restaurant for dinner and we got to try local cheese and food from her friends!

Luxury is an understatement!! There was delicious food, beautiful mountain views, a comfortably decorated room, and warm hospitality from the host and her family. We had everything we needed and more from this retreat. It’s remote location allowed peak relaxation and ample hiking trails in small villages with gorgeous views of the island. Just a note for everyone you definitely need to rent a car if you are traveling in Naxos and you want to see most of the island.

Time has flown by for my wife and me back at our Texas homestead. I've been racking my brain for the words to properly describe our honeymoon experience in Naxos, Greece. I've now succumbed to the realization that the words were probably lost in a layer of awe for a few weeks, but here is my best attempt at sharing this magnificent adventure with you. If you plan on staying in the Cyclades on Naxos, look no further, Elaiolithos is where you want to be; strap in and enjoy the ride. My wife Savannah and I decided to forgo the bustling crowds and busy beaches of the largest Cycladic island, Naxos. Savannah had found a promising suite tucked away on the side of a mountain - no bustle, no busyness, just the mountain air and pristine views that had me believing I was in a dream. I was particularly excited about the mythological history, while my wife was ecstatic to indulge in the fresh island cuisine. Naxos has rich Greek history involving Zeus, Dionysus and Artemis. The famous foods that grow here are of enormous importance as most of the tourists on Mykonos and Santorini eat at least one dish with one or more components hailing from the mountainous farms of Naxos. Brilliant white marble quarries sparkle along the hills and mountains as you drive from little white church to little white church, which we used as checkpoints, making it easy to keep from getting lost. Cute, manicured beach towns pop into view along every coastline, spread out enough to leave space for gorgeous beaches of all kinds: rocked, sand, cliff and vegetated. Turquoise waters dance with the sapphire blue of the deeper abyss and paint random natural murals in the Aegean sea. Words and pictures can not truly capture the beauty of the island, although many try. It is a beauty you feel in your soul. The most beautiful piece of Naxos is the people. I actually type this with a specific person in mind. Helen did not welcome us as guests, newlyweds, or even friends. From the moment we stepped onto the dock from the ferry, although we didn't know it yet, Helen had welcomed us as family! Savannah and I had been traveling through other parts of Greece, arranging our taxis, vans, trains and planes to and from our hotels. We were ready to "figure it out" again when we received a voice memo. A woman with a warm, inviting Greek accent told us a car rental had been set up and that we were to drive into the mountains straight to Elaiolithos. The views as we drove were breathtaking. Helen greeted us at the drive, helped us gather our bags, and parked the car. After a quick impromptu photo shoot, we sat down for food. From the first bite, flavors exploded in my mouth and danced on my pallet. Fresher food had never been documented. I was blown away to learn all the food we were eating was grown and harvested within 5 kilometers (3 miles) of where I sat. She proved it by sending us to her brother's farm right up the mountain, but not before we sat, laughed, and started what was to become a most fantastic relationship. Helen created a haven for Savannah and me to relax and enjoy being together. She provided us with itineraries each day, laughter, and warm memories that we will cherish forever. She shared her village with us, and we could feel the soul of Naxos. It is important to note that we canceled our two final days meant for other islands to stay with Helen for the remainder of our honeymoon. What sets our stay at Elaiolithos on its own pedestal, is that the experience felt Greek. We were plunged into what we felt to be an authentic, rich culture, free of tourism and outside influence. The last night, we ate in her village with her family and friends. Surrounded by love, I could feel the pulse of Naxos, as if I was standing in its heart. I looked at my wife and I knew there was nowhere else we should be. Saying goodbye was harder than I wanted it to be, but it guarantees ill be seeing her again soon. It was the best service, the best amenities, and the most fun! A truly magical experience. Helen is the most incredible host, and when we left, it felt as if we were leaving our own family. Great mountain location away from the crowds of other islands. The views were beautiful with easy drives to hiking, beaches , and Naxos town. Helen and her staff were amazing hosts with many great recommendations. The rooms were beautiful and spacious with many amenities. My wife and I stayed at the retreat for 3 nights and loved our time. The rooms are spacious and clean. The food at the restaurant is great (with HUGE portions). Helen is a wonderful host who provided great recommendations and suggestions for activities around the island. The staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. After our visit to Santorini, the vibe and relaxed attitude of Naxos was perfect. The views from the retreat are fantastic, and it's well located on the island to explore (though you absolutely need a car to enjoy the island). Would stay with Helen and ELaiolithos again in a second.

What an awesome place in Naxos. Our highlight of our trip to Greece. We stayed 4 days, 3 nights and we had the best time here. Our suite, Fanari, had all amenities you can imagine and many more. Cleanliness is +10, extremely clean. The housekeeping staff does incredible job here. Our breakfast was fresh tasty and delicious with all ingredients from the region around the hotel, all organic and seasonal. The hotel views are spectacular. One of the best spots on the island. Even if you do not stay here, you must visit for both the food and the views! The premises' restaurant is open to the public. Every night we enjoyed craft cocktails made by Helen who is an amazing personality and always with a smile on her face and encountered interesting conversations.
