Our family had the most amazing week's stay at the gorgeous Six Senses Zil Payson Resort and it was just what we all needed. We decided to get the helicopter to take us there which was incredible and definitely the best option as it was only 20 minutes from the mainland. We were greeted by the staff on arrival and whisked away via a buggie to our accommodation. We were staying in the Signature Two Bedroom Pool Villa, which has the most incredible views over the ocean and surrounding palm trees. The villa was a lot bigger than we thought and there was plenty of space for the four of us, it felt really secluded and the pool area was gorgeous. We could also walk down to the main area which took just over five minutes or so. Over the course of the week, we managed to do quite a few of the experiences that they offer such as the Boules and BBQ down by the beach which was incredible, the kayaking over to Coco Island, the wine cellar dinner, lunch on the beach, deep sea fishing, a boat trip for the day and finally the hilltop sunset experience which was stunning- we would recommend any of these and it's something a bit fun and different to do as the resort itself is quite small. The resort was laid-back and it felt like we had it to ourselves half the time, the Grand Anse beach was paradise and the boulders everywhere on the island are amazing, we also got to see some turtles nesting a few times which was really special. The food was always incredible and you could request whatever you wanted and we had a lovely Creole themed night one evening which the lovely Julia told us to do and they really pulled out all the stops for this and it was nice to try the local food. They also cooked our fish that we caught from the deep sea fishing experience one evening, which was delicious and prepared different ways. The staff at the resort were really what made our trip unforgettable, they were extremely friendly and good fun, a special mention goes out to Sam (our GEM) who went above and beyond for any request we had and was so bubbly and sweet, Julia, Nishanta and Indika who we really got to know over the week and always had huge smiles on their faces and were lovely and chatty and their service was excellent. We hope to come back in the not so distant future and experience the resort when life is back to normal.

Wow this six senses hotel has been my favorite place out of the places I have visit. I mean can you imagine getting to the hotel located on its own private island via helicopter ? Insane views while getting there then you get your room and the views are just as beautiful. The attention you get from the staff is second to none. The spa pool area was our favorite pool of the hotel besides our room one. Even tho the beaches around the hotel are amazing you still have access to another small private island which you could kayak to or organize a tour. Food is incredible and one night we have a private sunset picnic on the highest part of the island. It was a dream stay and my wife and I can’t wait to visit again!

There are no words but we'll give it a go. Our stay at Six Senses was absolute perfection. The location, food, activities and accommodation are all outstanding. What makes Zil Pasyon a cut above the rest however is the service. If you are after formal or stuffy attention and atmosphere, this is not the place for you. This is relaxed and sustainable luxury at its finest. Six Senses are not shy about communicating their values and ethos and it's safe to say, they practice what they preach. Staff work to get to know you and understand what you want out of your stay. Our GEM, Nhi, was quite simply fantastic and we've no doubt made our stay the best that it could be. The most taxing decision we had to make in five days was whether to eat in the villa or at the restaurant and even this was solved with a flip coin provided in your villa. As an aside, we were staying at the resort as the world went into lockdown. We could not have felt in safer hands and the whole team made sure that our holiday wasn't affected, challenging themselves to find new and intimate (given that we were two of four guests staying) ways to make our stay "out of the ordinary". Friendly and approachable the team even humoured my cricket loving husband and let him join in their match for a couple of hours. The food and beverage team were visibly excited to prepare a dining experience for us in a unique location where they had never set up before, serving some of our favourite food and drink much to our delight. They even accommodated our request for a menu signed by the chef to take home as a souvenir. Our only gripe (If you can call it that), at the most beautiful outdoor film screening in the world was the poor choice of movies and our inability to impact these even though we were the only ones in the audience! It almost seemed like someone was playing a joke on us. Sonic the Hedgehog: not perfect honeymoon fodder. The food and drink were sublime. The ability to order food to your villa, have it arrive in 35 minutes and be presented to such a standard was almost unbelievable. More than once since returning home we have gone to pick up the phone to order in a Six Senses culinary delight (and been sorely disappointed!). Whether luxury trips are the norm, this is a once in a lifetime holiday or you simply love to explore new things and places, Six Senses Zil Pasyon cannot disappoint. We're counting down the days 'til we return (and wish we had never left!)...

Let me start with the positive: we were greeted warmly upon arrival and received an upgrade to a Pasyon Villa. The villa was absolutely fabulous and probably the nicest we ever stayed at. In addition our GEM Ny did a fantastic job, doing everything in her power to make sure we have fabulous stay. Nevertheless, we were really disappointed with the resort overall. It seems to me that the fact that everything is sustainable is used as an excuse not to deliver the best quality of produce and service possible. This is the most expensive hotel we ever stayed at and it was by far not the best. 1. Food: the quality of the food is not up to the standard you would expect. It is ok, edible but nothing special at all - especially considering the additional steep prices. The pineapple at breakfast is not ripe, the cheese on the hamburgers is not melted, the avocado in the salad hard as a rock, etc. etc. We are big foodies and were extremely disappointed. 2. Service: was rather slow and there were clearly not enough people. After people leave at breakfast or lunch no one clears the table so that lot of pigeons have a feast at the left over food on the table next to you. This is just unacceptable and not hygienic at all! We were served our burgers on a create like thing so that when cutting it, blood would drip onto the table cloth. When we were finished no one removed the cloth and were just sitting there with a bloody table cloth. 3. Facilities: there are only two restaurants and the architecture and the setting of either is nothing special. The helipad is just next to the restaurants. During one of our lunches, we had helicopters start and land during 45 minutes of the 60 minutes we sat there. I don't understand why the pad was not built on the other side of the island so as to not disturb the guest. 4. Management: while we had a nice conversation during drinks with the management on our first night, we never saw them again during our stay and no one seemed interested (except for our GEM, who again, did a fantastic job) on whether everything was going ok. Aside from our issues with the facilities all the above mentioned problems can be resolved with better management.

Dear Bettina, Thank you for taking the time to write a review and share your constructive feedback with us. We greatly value all those who visit our shores and appreciate being a private remote island it is a little longer to get to us. Thank you for the kind words on our Pasyon Villa and we are pleased you enjoyed the upgrade to this beautiful private villa. I am sorry we could not meet your expectations with our F&B offering especially with you being foodies as we do pride ourselves on the healthy organic paddock to plate we practice where we can. I would like to thank you for your positive comments which we shall share with your GEM Nhi who is a wonderful member of the team. I am sorry that you did not enjoy the two restaurants, one being on the water's edge overlooking the bay and neighboring Koko island, the other nestled into the original Creole homestead under the Takamaka tree, both yes are very subtle in architecture as the surroundings have so much impact with the sea, granite rocks and palms. I am sorry that the helicopter disturbed your peace as the location is set away from all the villas to ensure the villas have no disturbance and is closer to the arrival jetty. I apologize for the unusually high traffic of the helicopter during your stay as this was due to the limited time we had to assist guests in departing the island due to the COVID-19 border closures and can understand this disturbed you. We are pleased you enjoyed the conversation and evening with meeting the team over cocktails, however, I apologize we didn’t meet again during your three days but our Resort Manager did share your comments which we value and have taken on board. I would like to thank you again for coming to visit us at Six Senses Zil Pasyon and we hope both you, your partner and family are safe over these unprecedented times. My best regards, Mark Leslie General Manager
