Detailed Reviews
We spent one night here during a round tour of the Ha Giang-province, and what a warm and cozy place with lovely and very welcoming hosts to arrive at after a long way of travel. It's situated in the middle of nowhere, and without our Vietnamese guide we would never have found it.
For backpackers travelling in the north of the country it's an obviuous choice being so extremely cheap. Also the food is great. Only downside for us was a bit of a chilly night as we visited the place in the coldest part of the year.

It was a perfect homestay for our trip around the ha giang loop.
The hosts are so welcoming and serve great food. They even went to buy more beers for us when they ran out in the late evening.
Showers and toilets are fine and enough for ~15 people.
Thanks a lot for the stay!

If you are into local food with a swimming pool to enjoy after a long day, you can try this homestay. With 100k Vnd, you can have the dishes in the photo attached.
It’s a village surrounding it , so rooster crow at 1am, dogs barking , insects chirping , and some other wildlife will make noise at night. Truly a village life you need to experience what’s like in the daily sleeping pattern of the villager.
Lights out at 10pm.

Ly quoc and his wife were extremely welcoming and attentive, we arrived in the evening when it was dark and they were extremely happy to greet us into their homestay, they amenities are everything you need, the food was absolutely delicious (we even stayed for lunch the day after!), and we loved that we ate all together the family dinner. It was a very magical way to end the loop. I would SUPER recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful homestay in the loop, make this one of your nights!

We as husband & wife booked this homestay through car rental service that we engaged as we can't book direct through booking.com.
The clay house cabin is very small & basic, no aircond and only a fan. The photos on the website were so different from reality. There's no view at all and the place is under some renovation with construction stuff piling one side.
When we decided to cancel our stay, only did the homestay owner change it to another homestay on higher ground with a better view.
We decided to stay since it's late, later I found out that the whole cabin is dusty and lacks maintenance. The worst part is the pillow smell, I've to remove the pillow case and use a clean t-shirt to cover it.
Later we found out that we're being overcharged for our cabin when we asked the family staying next door how much they paid.
The lesson we've learned, try walk in and we can always get options & better prices for homestay.
Never trust the car rental service to get good deals on accommodation for you, do your own research.
Lastly, don't bother to come here, this homestay Dao village is more like a homestay village. You can see better more authentic genuine villages along the Ha Giang loop.

I had 1 night here. It's located in Quan Ba district, managed by ethnic family. They satisfied basic needs with clean shared bathroom, small private room.
The thing I enjoyed the most: The wife cooked very well with local food, wine.
They are very friendly, honest and caring.

We really enjoyed this homestay relative to all other homestays we went in North Vietnam. The place is clean and comfortable. Dinner was really yummy - we had alot of food and the company of the owners who, although didn't speak English, were really friendly and welcoming.

This was our first homestay of our three night Ha Gaing motorbike look. It was recommended to us by QT Motorbike Rental and it was definitely a good choice. After a rainy first 50 km of the loop we were very hungry and looking forward to a nice hot shower. The shower nice and hot and the food was just amazing. The table was full of various local dishes, all of which were delicious. I especially enjoyed the spring rolls, which were some of the best ones we had in Vietnam.
The accommodation is in a large wooden building with mattresses on the floor, with warm blankets and mosquito nets. All the mattresses are divided by wooden walls, which gave us more privacy than the other homestays, where we only had a curtain.
Our host didn't speak much English, but he didn't really need to, as we were provided with all we needed anyway. He was very cheerful and his laughter was the best method of communication.

I had the immense pleasure of eating Mrs. Ly’s amazing cooking twice during my visit to Ha Giang. It’s the same style and many of the same dishes you’ll get elsewhere, but with just a little extra love or something. It’s like how your mom or your grandma’s cooking just tastes better to you, something like that. The classic tofu in tomato sauce was crazy good and I’m still dreaming about that amazing BBQ pork. I could rave about the food there all day. Another thing that sets this place apart is the high quality, flavour and KICK of Mr. Ly’s homemade corn “wine” blended with various jungle herbs and flavourings. I wish I could smuggle some of it back home with me! Be prepared to drink a decent amount of it too, I learned a few things about drinking in Vietnam from these people haha! But the hangover is surprisingly mild, so don’t be too timid. But that’s just me talking. Anyway, the accommodations are clean and appropriately rustic, more private than a lot of homestay’s. But any noise can seem loud, so bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. The thing that I’ll definitely come back for (besides everything above) is the warmth and hospitality of Mr. Ly and his wife. Minimal English is spoken, but it doesn’t matter, everything is communicated easily enough and there’s always google translate if you get stuck. I’ll never forget Mrs. Ly’s slightly devilish smile as she poured me more “happy water”, she’s like that one kickass aunt you have who drinks and swears like a sailor, but who’ll still make you hot soup when you’re feeling sick.
Anyway, don’t miss out on staying with these lovely Dao people and enjoying their amazing food and hospitality. Highest recommendation, 5 bazillion stars.

This homestay is right in the middle of a Dao ethnic village. The hosts are most welcoming, the food very varied and cheap and for a homestay the accommodation is more than adequate. There are many walks that can be done from the village ( we stayed there for 5 nights) and is reachable by using the Ha Giang to Don Vang/ Meo Vac bus and getting of at km 94 stone. It is then a 2 km walk to the village.
