We stayed at Desert Himalya in September 2015. This resort offers extremely well maintained and cozy tents with a clean washroom, The views are excellent. To experience mother nature at her best, do visit this place. It is situated at a central location in the village at a stone's throw from Sand dunes. The only thing which was average was the food. Overall, a must have experience.

This is tent hotel at 11000ft altitude. I was very happy to see the room so well equipped with all the necessary gadgets and heater because even in the month of May the nights are extremely windy and cold, with temperatures falling to subzero and much below.

The food was well made and catered to. Hot teas were always available anytime served within few mins. The staff seemed quite energetic willing to help anytime. Since in this part of the Himalayas business is only for 3 to 4 months , the hotels are quite full.
Hence personally i feel that these boys as staff working there deserve an appreciation in kind though they do not expect anything for their services.
Worth an experience...please do travel with adequate warm clothing and medication.

This tent property had the best view in our entire Ladakh trip. Tents were spacious and had the required amenities, staff were very nice and they had a nice buffet spread where food tasted fresh. The fact that they had live music (singers on both nights were good) and bonfire made the whole thing even more memorable. Overall, strongly recommended for stay in Nubra.

Since it is a camping site, I don't expect AC or proper doors for tent. But I do expect zip of the entry curtains and washroom to work properly, which was not the case. They do not provide wifi, food was just edible, staff was rude, and they didn't provide any toiletries, which is a basic amenities for the premium price we pay for such type of tents. They don't have proper lighting on the campus and it was difficult for us to go to dining hall from our tent during evening time. They provide chairs in which seating cusions were missing. Even after complaining they didn't bother to shift me to different tent or provide proper chairs. Had a bad experience. There are no zero star in the rating otherwise that would be the appropriate rating for this resort.

Overall this property is not worth to spend huge amount of money. We have stayed in their Royal Camp.
Pros
Kitchen staff is good, reception manager is good.
Corns
1. In cool temperature their camp doors are designed to give you feel of cool bridge inside the camp. Some stupid has designed those doors
2. They said in morning heating will start at 5:30 but staff does not bother to turn on generator in morning. With us it happened both nights.
3. There was not hot water running in camp.
4. We were with family but their staff was drinking alcohol in restaurant openly around dinner time. However they dont have license to sell alcohol yet.

This resort is overrated. Not a single luxary cottage is there where as these people claim luxary camps resort.
Food was good & variety is there.
Site of camps is beautiful.
Service is poor as receptionist took more than 10 minutes to find my booking.
I did not see any one doing sanitising camps before check in as my camp was given to next family only after just changing bed sheet.
Over all over rated not worth 8500 as they are charging.
Better stay at Nubra valley hotel rather than camps because same experience you will get at Pangong.
Another problem is light.
I use sleep apnea machine & I could not sleep for more than 3 hours because electricity was not there from 11.00 p.m till 4.00 a.m & this so called luxary camps resort does not use generator.

We are addressing the issue of the poor service and we shall improve on the service .As we are in a remote location , where there is no electricity , it is difficult for us to provide 24×7 power supply thru the genset.Timings for genset supply is conveyed to all guests on arrival.

Nice clean accommodation. Very hospitable staff.

Chose the premium tent. Food is average, but you can’t expect more from being away from everything.

The tent very spacious and has all your needs.

The reason why I gave this place 3 star is because of the heater.

Being in a place in the middle of the desert where temperature drop to zero degree and lower, this is the most essential and important feature. The heater kept being turned off and I had 2 comforters, but that didn’t help. If the place runs on generators and that can’t handle an electric heater, then a simple old fashioned heater or even a hot water bottle should be made available. given the climate in Indus Valley.

This resort is the real surprise in the Nubra Valley with superb service, food and staff. And the 360 degree view of all Himalaya mountains is the best part of it. Management has ensured that we get the breakfast on early morning departure as well. strongly recommended if you are planning to stay in Nubra Valley.

We stayed in the Desert Himalaya Resort , Nubra ,Ladakh , for 1 night in their luxury tent . I will put it down as one of my most memorable stay amongst all the travels done in the past many years .The tent was very tastefully done , super comfortable and gave a 5 star feel . The resort is picturesque locale , huge open area surrounded by beautiful mountain range . One can soak in the calm sitting in the garden . If in Nubra this is the place to stay . Very cordial staff and good simple food to complete the experience . I wish I could stay 2 nights , will recommend 2 night in the beautiful Nubra valley and in this beautiful Resort

I really didn’t know what to expect from this camp. I must was pleasantly surprised with the amazing modern tents and the facilities it provided. The food and stay went beyond my expectations, not a hotel but a unique camping experience. The owner,Mr.Thashi was extremely welcoming and his young staff was courteous and obliging irrespective of the demand we as customers made. I came away with a great experience and loved the place. A place not to be missed for sure.

Desert Himalaya do serve eggs but they did not offer other non-veg items. Veg food has very good options. Pl. read my May 2019 review. I have given many other details. Do wear woollen cloths, while coming out of Aircraft. Thanks.

In June Weather will be slightly warm in day time and chilly in the evenings. From Leh the drive would take approximately 5 hours if there is no blockages near Khardung.
