Unbelievably beautiful setting. We had a truly delightful experience. Located near all of the D Day museums and beaches, we totally enjoyed our stay at Manoir de Cleronde. The hosts, Gwenael and Elodie are very hospitable, and helped us with reservations at a beautiful seaside restaurant in Port en Bessin. The Manoir has been in the family for hundreds of years, and was a refuge for D Day soldiers. There’s a letter from General Eisenhower in the study, thanking the family, on behalf of the President of the United States. Beautiful gardens and duck ponds abound. Our beds were comfortable and our rooms were very spacious. Breakfast was excellent, with locally sourced eggs, ham, fruits and cheeses, sugar crepes, juices, coffee and tea, croissants, milk and cereal. We were able to use the bicycles provided, to toodle around. A truly lovely experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Amazing place that takes you back to time. Very big and comfortable rooms. The surrounding area is impressive and relaxing. The only thing i would suggest to see again is the fact that in the evening there is noone to attend. The quality of breakfast is good but an improvement could be considered.

Our stay here was extremely pleasant and Gweneal and Elodie are the perfect hosts. The room was large and comfortable with an enormous bathroom. The rooms look out over this stunning property and it is great seeing the horses grazing in their paddocks. Gweneal took me for a tour of the property and history came alive as he described the Americans pursuing the Germans through their forest during the D-Day landings. I could not recommend this property highly enough.

We stayed at the Manoir de Cleronde in order to visit all of the Normandy historical sites in the area. In a time when we are all used to chain hotels it was a fantastic experience to be able to stay in such a unique location where the owner clearly takes great pride in welcoming his guests and advising them on how to get the most of the area. The family had a great time and I have no hesitation in recommending this unique location and would like to thank all of the staff for making us feel so welcome

Gwenael and his family have turned their home into an unforgettable place to experience the Normandy countryside. The Manoir has so much history which the owner is happy to share. The beauty of the grounds alone is beyond compare. The main building has been meticulously restored and offers spacious suites with all modern amenities. Breakfast is an opulent feast. I regret that we did not have more time at Cleronde to further explore the woods and gardens. A PERFECT country spot for those exploring the Normandy coast and Bayeux.
