It is an old haveli ( mini palace). Well maintained with well appointed room and modern, although there is scope of improvement. People are warm out here. We were 2 couples travelling to nearby town for a temple visit and staying here really put an extra star to our trip.

This trip was a 2 nights impromptu drive vacation with couple of friends with family. It was a 5 hour drive from Delhi via Kotputli - Neemkathana - Udaipurwati - Nawalgarh (250kms). Reaching hotel with help of google maps was tricky. We were in 3 SUVs and had to travel through some narrow lanes and ended up in the main... More

This kothi in Nawalgarh is a steal for a price at which we booked it. Approximately 40 USD per night inclusive of dinner and breakfast. A completely unimaginable royal palatial setting amidst beautiful surroundings and lush green lawns. The swimming pool is superb. The quality of shower, bathroom, mattress etc was at par with global standards and there was absolutely no... More

The hotel is located not too far off the highway and is indeed a hidden beauty. We were so lucky to be checked in fairly late at night. We even had a lovely dinner served at their restaurant around 11.00 PM. Our room was large and well kept. The hotel manager was incredibly helpful. The hotel also offers Wi-Fi facility... More

It seems to be the best address to stay in Nawalgarh. The property is well maintained and gives old world charm in a quaint place of Nawalgarh which was one of the richest town in the country in 18th century. To visit Shekhawati Haveli, you need to visit Nawalgarh and no better place to stay amongst friends. The staff, lead... More

The heritage hotel of Koolwal Kothi was constructed in 1934. The kothi, which is made of lime work, has 18 heritage and suite AC rooms housing antique furniture from nearby Ramgarh. Located about 25 kms from Mandawa, Nawalgarh has some of the finest frescos and painted havelis in the Shekhawati region. Some of the havelis worth seeing here are Anandi... More

Wonderful 'haveli' set in lovely gardens with peacocks and good sized secluded pool. Massage and small gym. No wi-fi. No tea making facilities in room but will make for you. Laundry service and excellent food. Lots of bird life. Bicycles available. TV in room. Wonderful old style furniture.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Koolwal Kothi is an impressive heritage building in Nawalgarh. With its monumental façade and combination of traditional and European elements, it is a good representative of British colonial architecture in India. It was constructed in 1934, during the time of Anandi Lal ji Hemraj Ji Koolwal. It has a magnificent frontage with stucco decorative colonnades and a series of rooms organized around a central hall. It deviates from the traditional courtyard house planning of the region. Stylistically too, it has more stucco work with very few external fresco paintings, which are otherwise typical to this region. It is very unique in this respect. The main building is a tow – storied structure with frontal triple arched verandah openings and crowning parapets with decorative urns. The interiors are simple with very little decoration in the rooms. However, the emphasis is on bold and bright colors, and the openings are extenuated with multicolor borders or floral motifs, at times emulating tile or stonewall The Kothi has 18 individually designed Deluxe Rooms. where one can witness and live like how the Maharajas used to. You will find the Kothi with antique furniture and a lot of importance has been given to detail to recreate life as it was almost 80-100 years ago. In the Nawalgarh, Koolwal Kothi offers visitors the elegance of a small Rajasthan Palace- like residence with all the comforts of a Heritage Hotel. It captures the charm of the princely city that was built in accordance with the ancient Hindu treatise.Set in a lovely garden, flanking the spacious green roundabout at a corner of Nawalgarh, the Hotel is a few minutes’ drive away from the walled city. With the Hotel Koolwal kothi as base, explore Beautiful surrounding Havelies (e.g. Poddar Museum, Morarka Haveli, Seksheriya Haveli, Jaipuria Haveli, etc), Famous Temples (Salasar Hanuman Ji, Rani Sati Temple, Khatu shyam Ji etc), Famous Destinations (e.g. Mandava, Fathepur, Ramgarh, etc), Taal Chapar (Famous Wild Life Sanctuary)The Kothi is currently owned by Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, one of the descendants of the Koolwal family. The heritage building had been locked and neglected for most of the last 40years. Today the Kothi is a successful heritage hotel run by WelcomHeritage, keeping alive the charming traditions and hospitality in the Shekhawati region. ... more   less
