This is such a lovely, unpretentious, relaxing place to stay. We very much appreciated Juliana's unfussy, friendly, down-to-earth hospitality where we felt quite at home. We particularly valued being able easily to eat "at home" in the evenings - it can be an issue with B&Bs where you have to eat out every evening, which can be expensive. Here there... More

Lovely b&b in the heart of the French countryside, surrounded by vineyards and overlooked by the stunning chateau Thébon. The hosts are an extremely welcoming bilingual couple, full of local wisdom. We stayed for 5 nights in June, most of which were spent lazing by the salt water pool, with a glass of wine in hand! Perfect relaxation. When we... More

Stayed here for 2 nights with two of my girlfriends. Beautiful house and pool, the pool was salt water so it was really good to swim in. The breakfast was great, and the location was beautiful too. Would definitely recommend it!

We just finished a 3 week family vacation spending 2 weeks in France. We (wife, 2 teenage daughters and I) spent 2 nights at Chateau Lavanau. Accommodations were wonderful - great rooms and common space (including outdoor patio and pool). Paul and Juliana are outstanding host. Really enjoyed Paul's optional wine tour (and wines). Would recommend without any reservations

We were here for a weekend for a friend’s wedding. We booked late and weren’t sure what Chateau Lavanau would be like when we got there, but after 20 hours of ferries and driving we got there and felt relaxed within 10mins. The house is set within plum orchards and vines which Paul kindly said we could wander in (we... More

Our favorite stay of our 2 week holiday in France. We felt at home right away in this peaceful setting surrounded by Vines and Plum trees. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The chateau is also in a great location for seeing all the historical sites in the region.

The Chateau was pleasant mix of tradition and modern, the photos don’t do it justice. The bedrooms were traditionally decorated with beautiful modern ensuit, there was even robes provided. The pool area was a lovely relaxing area to chill out at (beach towels were provided too). There is amazing views of the country side. Juliana could not have been more... More

Just returned from 7 days of bliss at Chateau Lavanau with my partner. Gorgeous house and our hosts Paul and Julianna could not have been kinder. We had made a mistake with our arrival date but Julianna welcomed us and fixed an alternative room for our first night without problem. We had hired a car and found Lavanau to be... More

We stayed at Chateau Lavanau for just one night at the end of June 2010 after a hectic few days in Bergerac at a family wedding. Chateau Lavanau was just what we were looking for, peace, tranquility and relaxation. Located less than 30mins from Bergerac (as long as you have a map, which we didn't) and set amongst beautiful vine... More
