After being in north of Zanzibar which is quite touristic with long nice beaches, we spent two nights at Mangrove, which was a perfect combination if you like relaxing, beautiful nature and "african" environment! It's close to Stonetown and we even asked a man to take us back by boat at sunset one evening which was very nice! The staff...

Sadly we only stayed in mangrove lodge just for 1 night. We needed to change the booking a couple of times and it was never a problem. The italian owner is a perfect host, when we arrived she directly gave us great tips what to do on the island. You can even take a bike from the hotel and bike...

I was originally going to stay for only one night... But when I saw the beautiful jungle garden and my enormous, light-filled room and gorgeous Zanzibari bed, combined with Haji and Marina's unparalleled hospitality, I changed my entire trip in order to stay three more nights. Haji and Marina utilize sustainable and local resources, incredibly friendly local staff, and fresh...

Gorgeous, peaceful, a quiet wonderous estate. Great restaurant - a fusion of Italian (Marina is from Milan) and local Zanzibar(ian) cuisine ( Haij is from the island) on a high level of Deliciousness!!! Seafood cooked on the grill - homemade breakfast treats from the local village - very fresh fruit - and juice. The room was large, cozy and beautifully...

Mangrove lodge is a short distance outside stone town and hidden through the jungle on the coast. The couple who own it were really helpful in providing suggestions and organising trips for us which took a lot of the hassle and stress out of the trip. The lodge itself is on a very quite beach with white sand.

A very nice family run lodge on the beach in Zanzibar. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodate your every need. Great views of bay from the dining area. Great sunsets from their beach. Good value for the lodging and meals (breakfast was included). They arranged reasonable price transport to/from airport, town and tours.

We've just come back from a lovely week at Mangrove Lodge. Our hosts were so friendly and accommodating. They own and run a lovely lodge away from all the over development on other parts of the island. We really appreciated how they, and all their staff, welcomed us. Sharing a low key beach with the local community was a privilege...

My three teenage daughters and I were greeted warmly by Marina and Haji on our arrival at Mangrove Lodge. We stayed in a large roomy hut, with beautifully made beds, a large fan and spacious shower room. All the staff made us feel very well looked after, from the incredibly smiley barman and waiter, to the beach attendant who kept...
