Lovely family stay in the guest house, personalized service from staff, clean eclectic simple funky and we'll run. Tree'd outside areas to relax and socialize and cozy bar / lounge fireplace area for the winter. It's very homely and relaxed with multitasking staff and the resident hounds making themselves freely at home. Nice big rooms and bathrooms, the one shower... More

Thank you Lindzi for your positive review. Sorry about the water pressure, it's pretty much a municipal problem and not a lot we can do about it. Please do give us some ideas as to how to make our breakfasts more interesting. I am sure if you had asked us for benedict, calves eye eggs or omelette, our breaky chef... More

On a drive for mother's day, we decided to stop in at Red Tin Roof for a bite to eat. We forgot that it was the Olive festival, and were astounded at the amount of people in Riebeek Kasteel.....until we realized that it was for the festival.... Never the less at the Red Tin Roof we were seated immediately and... More

I recently had my 60th birthday party at the Red Tin Roof. It was fantastic. The food couldn't be better, the vibe super cool and the accommodation just great. Jacques and Sam are fantastic hosts and the staff is friendly, professional and effective! We will have many more parties there! Thank you Red Tin Roof! Fanie Groenewald

The room was clean. No TV. Room faces outdoor restaurant and bar on the premises, we stayed on a week night and very noisy long after midnight. Also lots of mozzies with no net. Was a practically empty mozzie stick in room, but it should have been replaced before new guests arrive surely. Breakfast listed between 8:30 and 9:30. We... More

From the moment I arrived I felt welcome and at home. My room was beautiful with doors opening up onto a veranda, gentle breeze, birds chirping, glorious, peaceful. Food was phenomenal! Thank you Sam!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Red Tin Roof. The restaurant is set in a lush and relaxing garden, with loads of arts and antiques from all over the continent. At the back and quite secluded from the restaurant, the four rooms constituting the guesthouse are very well appointed and welcoming. The owners make you feel at home without... More

I had the best time at the Red Tin Roof, the service and standard is impeccable. I want to make a regular trip to Riebeek Kasteel and the Red Tin Roof more often from Cape Town. The food is delicious. The hotel is full of beautiful treasures that the owners have gathered throughout the world on their various travels. And... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Red Tin Roof is a manor house that has been sleeping guests, feeding strangers and quenching thirsts for decades. The new owners gave her a complete facelift and donned her in new colours. Known as a bit of a party animal, they enlarged the bar - and added another! They have re-vamped her from head to toe and decorated her with an eclectic mixture of art and collectibles from around the world. ... more   less
