The 24-hectare coral island, located on the Southeastern tip of Cebu, is home to Bluewater Sumilon. Pristine white sand beaches abound. Its sandbar is known for its changing shapes and shifting locations around the island, depending on the season. There is a natural lagoon teeming with high mangroves. On the south side, a lighthouse rests on a protected tree park and a "Baluarte", a 19th century historical watchtower. It is also home to the Philippines' first marine sanctuary. At Bluewater Sumilon, let the islander's easy-going friendliness shine through and keep the pace low-key enough to let you feel pampered.

I do not recommend this place. I am a member of bluewater resorts but they treat their member rudely. It seems theat people working here does not what what customer service is all about. Kaka dive ko lang sa pool when one of their staff approach me at sinigawan ako na umalis because that pool is for the in-house guest only. Like for real? Ni wala kayong sinabi during orientation na may pool pala na di pwedeng liguan? and that pool is actually accross your restaurant. And if that is the case, talk to your customers properly dapat. The staff itself pa yung nag eskandalo. I truly regretted paying for membership na super expensive only to be treated that way. The ameneties were poorly created. food are very expensive that cannot justify the taste nor the presentation. Lots of hidden charges. You are just going to waste money here. If you want to go to the sandbar in Sumilon just rent a boat and go directly to the sandbar. Do not enter Sumilon Bluewaters. Staffs treat you poorly. In my years of travelling, this is the first time a staff shouted at me for a couple of times infront of a crowd and other staff are just looking. This is not an isolated case since my friend who visited the place 1 week prior experience the same and more rudeness from the manager itself. If only there's a way I can cancel my membership and get back the money. But even the bluewater staff agent does not reply to the messages. It seems that management are closing their eyes and ears. This place does not even compete with the views, ameneties and experiences offered & being enjoyed from other similar resorts. Pool that will used by those whose paying 2,500php for a day tour is too small and ugly. sands inside the resort are not fine. orders take way toooooo long. short of staffs especially the resto near the pool area.

We stayed at bluewater sumilon resort for 3 days and 2 nights. The travel agent offered us an “amazing adventure” package which included 2 nights stay, breakfast and dinner included, free minibar (once) and all the transfers. We landed in dumaguete at around 10:30, and we were picked up promptly. We were driven to a port where we had to take a boat ride to another island and then picked up again by car to take another boat. It took me 2 plane rides, 2 boat rides and 2 car rides. The travel was worth it! Crystal clear waters, beautiful sunsets, and just natural and beautiful surroundings! Our room and bathroom was very big. There’s only one restaurant in the island where guests have their meals. There’s an adequate selection at breakfast though I wouldn’t say it’s amazing quality. At night, they had themes for dinner. One night it was Mexican and the second night it was seafood gallery. They did try and change it up so kudos to them. There are many activities available. Kayaking, fishing, fish feeding, snorkeling, baby shark feeding, etc. the sandbar was at the other end of the island and I wish it wasn’t as busy. A tip: Go early in the morning. This was certainly a relaxing holiday and the staff are friendly and efficient. We had a group who didn’t want to go to part two of the package which was the waterfalls and the manager kindly changed the package for them. I think it’s also about how you communicate and explain and you’ll be met with the same attitude. On the way back, we took a private boat ride to save time and jumping from boat to car and again. It’s costs 9000 pesos for one way. We paid half of that because the multi transfer option was included in our package. I think the price they charged is completely fair, with all the inclusions. I came with no expectations and left with good memories.

We liked bluewater sumilon because of its many instagramable spots from the loading station till the island! There’s also a lot of activities like swimming , fishing , sandbar, massage , drinking by the bar , snorkeling , water bike and more. Although the corals are not as beautiful and the beach has a rocky shoreline , it was still fun to explore in the water . It’s not your typical boracay type of just a sandy beach so bring or borrow booties . They provided our snorkels and masks and vests, service was very good and the food was excellent. If you find it too expensive to stay overnight then do the day trip by getting there very early in the morning then take the last boat out . The view is fantastic! Make sure you visit the sandbar in the morning when it is visible .

I love that they have a special airconditioned and cozy waiting area for Bluewaters members since it's so hot outside. The boat ride in going to the island is quite bumpy since june month has lots of waves. The island is quite small that you can tour the whole island in less than an hour. The rooms are big and so are the toilet n bath. The view of the room is the sea itself from the veranda. It has an infinity pool that is overlooking the open sea. What i love the most is the sandbar wherein the sand is very fine and has calm waters. It was a great stay and i enjoyed the privacy of the island.

*Very strict not in place a.No foods allowed evencurls for snacks. b. Service Cart can't be used. only for PWD. If you are assigned to Villa 20-up , no other way but to walk almost 10 mins going to restaurant c. Very strict with check in time. Can't you do something avout your housekeeping so you wont let yourcguests get bored of waiting? *Not friendly service a. Arrogant frontdesk manager, lifeguard in beach, guards and few hotel employees. * Pricey rate Price not worth the value.Food price is exaggerated. * Foods not palatable to Filipino standard. not resort level taste like carenderia taste. * Swimming pool need renovation. Obviously with signs of repair. * Frontdesk Manager is arrogant and local racist. She told us to take our feet from the table( sala table size) after almost an hour of waiting for the boat transfer. When infact we have done that for about 3 hrs. of waiting for our rooms to be availble. pati pag comfort sa pag upo may restrictions? I asked her what is wrong of putting our feet? does it destruct other guests ? Wala naman kaming ginawang masama? Sa mga resorts na napuntahan namin, ito lang masyadong OA sa pagbabawal ng guests. parang martial law. if intention nyang pagsabihan sana nong una pa.. masyadong judgmental sa local tourists when in fact yong majority ng guests nila mga local tourists. nakaka insulto lang nang pag kasabi.I find it unusual from our resort experience na 5 star level talaga. I don't recommend local tourists to stay here. You travel far from Cebu City and this is what you will get.
