Beautiful location and great room. A little damp in the rooms which is the reason for the score of 4 out of 5. Food and hospitality are really good. Coffee plantation tour was the best with a very knowledgeable guide.we have learnt a lot about coffee growing, processing and the varieties etc.
Finca Rosa Blanca was an excellent start to our 10 days in Costa Rica. We stayed for two nights at FRB, and it didn't feel like enough! We planned this trip on our own without a travel agent. The customer service was incredibly patient and detailed while answering my many (and repetitive) questions before arriving. Our original flight into Costa Rica was cancelled, so we arrived a day late. This changed both our transportation and excursion plans. Once again, FRB was kind, responsive and very helpful as we rearranged our plans at the last minute. The only disappointinf surprise we encountered was the weather and our lack of preparation for it! It was pretty chilly and rainy almost the entire time we were there. Sadly, this meant we didn't get to experience the beautiful pool. (We also wished we would have packed warmer clothes!) We stayed in El Cafetal. The room was beautiful, and the view was fantastic. We loved being on our balcony enjoying coffee during sunrise and really enjoyed the many butterflies and hummingbirds below our room. There were other guests at the hotel, but we hardly knew it. It felt very private and quiet the entire trip. The food and drinks were good. We especially enjoyed the Coffee Connoisseur Dinner. The wine pairings were an excellent compliment and balance to the coffee themed dishes. The pork should was our favorite dish! In addition to the special dinner, we enjoyed the Poas Volcano Tour and the Coffee Tour. Be aware that the weather can significantly impact the viewing of the volcano, and the earlier you arrive, the better. We had an excellent view for just a few minutes before the clouds rolled in. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and we enjoyed hearing about the history of the area, and on our way back from the tour we stopped for local strawberries and cheese. The coffee tour was VERY educational! We love coffee and were surprised by how much we had to learn! The tour concluded with a coffee tasting and then a French press with their house made cookies. We are very grateful to have stayed on such a beautiful property with such a kind staff! Be sure to walk the grounds while you are there! It is beautiful!!…
Outstanding and unique hotel, nestled a little away from the city bustle but close to Heredia and San Jose. Great, kind and welcoming service, with beautiful facilities. Love the tico decor and gardens. Restaurant has beautiful views.
We arrived at our room after travelling 25 hours on the first night of our honeymoon to discover 3 particularly large spiders in our room. We just couldn’t relax in the room so had to leave. When we requested even a partial refund, we were told this is the jungle and this is to be expected. They also claimed to have offered us an upgrade to a suite which just wasn’t true. We were offered a room in the same building with no guarantee it hadn’t the same issue. From our brief experience, the place fell short of the 4.5 rating on Tripadvisor. We have subsequently stayed in other jungle resorts that have been of much higher standard and far surpass this accommodation without any of the same issues.
My wife and I stayed here at the end of our honeymoon for two nights. I will fully admit, we did not get to totally experience the entire grounds, as it was horrible weather for our stay. I can speak to the decor of the interiors, which was very charming and incredibly unique. If you are someone who enjoys to read and sit in peace and quiet there is a ton of quality spaces. Unfortunately the biggest difficulty we had that tainted our experience was the restaurant. The food is not good, not at all. There are a couple lunch sandwiches that will do the trick but the dinner quality is very lacking for a place as charming as this place is. They need a serious upgrade on the menu/chefs. The "Catch of the Day" was one of the worst fishes I have ever eaten. Extremely overcooked and filled with bones. I feel almost bad saying this because it really is a charming place with very friendly staff - but i have to be honest and the food was just a huge buzzkill.…
We had 2 nights at this beautiful location. We had 2 adjoining rooms to make 1 big villa, with gorgeous views. The grounds, pool staff and restaurant were fantastic. We also did the coffee tour which was so fascinating and a great tour guide. This place was perfect for groups, and couples. I would highly recommend it. X
This was our first trip to Costa Rica. We stayed at Finca Rosa Blanca on our first night with our 3 children and everything about this place was amazing. Pictures just can’t capture the beauty. The hospitality, the atmosphere, the food, the tour… it was all way beyond our expectations!!
The five of us, three kids and two adults, had the best time at this resort! Beautiful, clean, spacious and truly unique, this resort is totally worth a visit. We had excellent meals and enjoyed the spacious beautiful rooms and all the special touches. Will definitely return!
We had a wonderful tour of the coffee plantation which lasted for 2 hours but went by so quickly. Ulisses was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and amiable. They have resumed the cupping portion of the tour which was great. We also had a very good lunch at the restaurant prior to the tour. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the back garden.
The guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. We learnt a lot. The only disappointment was there was no cupping experience that we were expecting at the end of the tour. I wrote the feedback and the CEO wrote me back right away. I appreciated the quick reply and that’s why I still give 5* review. If you are looking an organic coffee farm tour I would highly recommend Finca Rosa. We took Uber from San Jose it was a reasonable price to get there.
