We stayed for 2 nights. A great choice. We had a prestige room with en suite bathroom. Aurelia is a terrific host and a great cook! Breakfasts and dinners eaten in the garden surrounded by hens, chickens, dogs, cats and a parrot were delightful. An excellent base to visit the châteaux of the Loire and to kick off our holiday.

Delightful, tranquil very rural setting and perfectly placed for overnight stop heading north or south. Use Google maps and you get right to the front door! Rooms arranged in two separate buildings separate to the main house ( where breakfast is served), positioned around three sides of a grassy central area inhabited by hens, chicks and couple of characterful dogs.... We only stayed for 1 night on our way down to the south of France but already this is in our top 5 places to stay. Aurelia was really welcoming and showed us around the lovely grounds which has lots of animals - horses, chickens, cats, dogs, geese and even a donkey. The heated pool is lovely and big enough... We are a family of 5 and had the best time at La Gaucherie. We stayed a week in 2 rooms in this beautiful farmhouse, tucked away in the woods with farm animals pond and a heated pool. The rooms were huge, and there was an even bigger shared area downstairs with a warm fireplace. There is art and books... More

We had a great couple of nights at La Gaucherie. Aurelia was really welcoming, recommended a good chateau to visit and produced an excellent breakfast! The rooms were lovely and the grounds very relaxing to sit in. The location is very near major roads but the house still had a remote feel. Because we have teenagers we wanted to go... More

We had a fantastic stay here on our way travelling back through France. Stunning property, the rooms were beautifully presented and very comfortable. The grounds are lovely and full of animals to keep everyone amused. The real treat was dinner. In a cosy converted barn, the food was fantastic and the hosts warm and welcoming. A truly restful and enjoyable... More

We spent a lovely couple of nights at this excellent B&B, we had breakfast and dinner both were delicious and plentiful. Our 4year old loved the animals and made friends with the other kids letting us have a relaxing dinner. The rooms were stylish and clean and there was a great kitchen and living room area for guests to use.

We arrived late (9pm after planning to arrive at 6pm) with our family of 8, 5 and 2 year old children and could not have had a more lovely and relaxed welcome. There are horses, chickens, rabbits, dogs etc for the children to enjoy and swings/swimming pool for entertainment. We instantly felt welcome and relaxed after a rather long journey.... More
