We stayed here for 2 nights and it was fantastic! We swam in the pool ate cheese and drank wine, Lesley is a brilliant host. The chateau is only a 10 min drive from Albi which was by far the city we liked the most whilst touring around France.

Lodged 2 nights at Ch de Cussac. An historical property within easy day-trip drive of Albi, Cordes and other "must see" towns. We stayed in the Four Poster Suite. Great. The time of year produced nice cool weather with a quiet and unique ambiance which suited us very well. Our stay was thoroughly easy-going and the Host very cordial. Sorry...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The "Chateau de Cussac" is a small and cosy mediaval building which has been built in the 15th century and been renovated to welcome guests eager to discover the French touch of this beautiful region of the river Tarn with the river valley, the surrounding medieval villages and, last but not least, the authentic local food and wine. Situated about 10 minutes away from the main city of the the county, belonging to the Unesco patrimoine, the Chateau overlooks the city from a level of 380 meters high. The touristic stay comes out both resting and relaxing with no tourist trick in the most Cathare custom. The region is full of crusade history against the Albi inhabitants, that refuses for so long to be ruled by the catholics church. The people in the region live with their own philosophy, enjoying vineyards of Gaillac as well as unique green lanscapes despite the best Summer temperatures. The region is endowed of green landscapes because irrigated by the river Tarn, that people interested by Canoe or Kayak would experience the joy of fresh water under the sun heat. Welcome to all for a definitely relaxing stay...! ... more   less
