Stayed two nights in one of the gers. The menu had several Mongolian and western options and everything we ordered was good and reasonably priced. The staff was always polite and helpful.
A special mention to the driver, Byambaa who was very patient with me as I was quite car sick (due not to his driving) and we had to stop a few times in our way in from the airport. He also drove us around when we wanted to get around

Dear sunnyarbormom- Thanks for the good words. We've recently updated our menu- with a few more exotic items. And, we have just installed five NEW "Colorado Yurts" out here. We'd love to have you come out again, and see what's new!

Spent to wonderful days in Ayanchin Four Seasons Lodge, located that the National Park. Booked a Ger and our stay was wonderful. The facility is well maintained and accommodation clean and well maintained. There is choice of cabins or Ger which has no attached bathrooms (adding to an authentic stay, less answering the call of nature, in nature). There are room with attached bathroom if you so desire. They are adding some new Gers with attached bathroom. In the main building there is a kids play room, games room and even Karaoke room for rent. Food is decently priced and the portions are huge. Breakfast is included into the price of accommodation. French Toast and pancakes are must try. Menu includes Mongolian and Western food. Excellent way to end my time in Mongolia. I appreciated the way the staff were working hard to upkeep the place. Will be back!

Dear Michael- Thanks for your nice review. We sincerely appreciate it. And, we look forward to your return! One correction for our Trip Advisor Followers. The new Colorado Yurts are FANTASTIC. They have fireplaces, with glass fronts, attached decks, and lots of privacy. Unfortunately, they do not have attached batrhooms. Our approach to our camp is to only have 24/7/365 plumbing on the property, and the remoteness, and privacy associated wit these Colorado Yurts, makes "year-round" plumbing them cost prohibitive. That being said, we are planning to locate a "seasonally-plumbed" bathroom out near the new Yurts, this coming summer. Stay tuned for that! Again thanks for your kind review. We especially liked your comment about maintanence....

We stayed there for a night while visiting the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park. Sitting at the terrace & watching the surrounding landscape after running around at the national park was very relaxing. Amazing when you sit at the terrace towards the end of May, the sun goes down and so does the temperature, from around 20 to 25 during the day to 2 to 5 degrees C in the night. The lodge itself, very good standard, all looks and works fine, rooms & beds are very comfortable. The food was very good, the drink selection too, very friendly & helpful staff, highly recommendable. Definitely worth a stay!

Excellent hotel with comfortable room and a good restaurant to boot. Service was good, despite the extreme coldness of -28°C. They have barrages for cars, a rarity feature. Big yard for kids, but not for us in winter. Pure snow surrounded us.

Dear Leong- Thanks, so much, for the five stars. And thanks for the good comments on our abilities when it's cold. Our facility was designed and built as a "24/7/365" facility from the very beginning. As a fair percentage of our customers are local, we have always been aware of the fact that there is a demand for this type of facility, during the winter months. And, not to be too impertinent, there may be a few people, during the deep-winter months, that might like to escape the "less-then-desirable" air quality in UB!

We had a great stay here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and ensured that we had great food and comfort.
We absolutely loved our walks around the locality. These were made even better by the lodge dogs which were duty bound to come with us and behave like unobtrusive canine escorts.
We stayed in a room in the Gertech and were amazed with the level of comfort.
We will most definitely visit again in the near future.

Ayanchin lodge is built in a superb location with 360degree views of Terelj park. The gers are comfortable and clean, and the cabins are a bit more upscale and have regular, larger beds. The rooms in the "Gertec" building are large, beautifully furnished, have great views and the bathrooms are fantastic. I have stayed in the lodge in the winter and those rooms are super nice and comfy, now with the Gertec building they, can give more guests a higher end experience like in the lodge.
The staff is super friendly and helpful and totally took care of our group's needs. They made amazing, bountiful buffet meals for our group and the food really made our stay special. They also helped us find lost items and arrange for individual's needs. I would highly recommend going there anytime as the green views of summer are fabulous as well as white in winter and brown of spring. You can take long hikes and see all kinds of animals right behind the lodge.
The only small thing which could be improved upon would be to add some more showers for the people using the gers and cabins. 1 showed per each restroom is not enough for the number of people who need to share them.

Wow, thanks for the review. We appreciate it. Always fun to see all the work we have put into the place, rewarded with some nice words. On the subject of the showers? Yeah, it was a debate. When we had the "four-unit" shower house, one person would go in, and lock the door....so, we figured- better to have one really nice shower, rather then have the "locker room" thing we used to have. For future reference, if anyone is having trouble getting into the ger/cabin shower.....we'll come up with a solution. -Catmanl7

We stayed 2 nights in Ayanchin and enjoyed the green grass, fresh air and best mattress.......Just perfect after 10 days on the rugged western mongolia in old Russian "Furgons" Very well managed with high quality infrastructure and amenities, seems like owners have spared no expense. Staff spoke good english and were very helpful and we felt looked after.
However Ayanchin provides a rather high end experience with food 30% more expensive compared to Ulaan Baator on an average.
If visiting Terelj National park try visiting even if for a coffee.

Honestly, this is the kind of review we would like to receive from every guest. It's nice to have people appreciate that we are striving to provide a world-class experience....out past the edge of town. We go to a lot of effort to keep our property spotless, our surprises to a minimum, and to optimize your enjoyment of our area, and Mongolia. I especially appreciate the comments about beds....etc. We frequently have guests that are "returning to civilization" and have a few days to recover...but, are not quite ready to return to "UB". So, thanks! -Catmanl7

We stayed for a couple of nights in the family ger and loved it, especially my 8 year old daughter. It was lightly snowing when we arrived but our ger was cosily warm, thanks to the woodburner that had been lit before we got there. The restaurant has a wide range of Western and Mongolian options, including vegetarian food. We would especially recommend the potato salad. We hiked up the hill for a fabulous view over the surrounding area and also went horseriding. If we go again, we would choose to stay in a ger again rather than a cottage or room because it was cosy and comfortable.

Wow, thanks. You still gotta have gers! And, believe it or not, what guests want from gers...has changed a lot, over the years. We are periodically re-sizing, and re-fitting our gers to accommodate, and augment what our guests are looking for. Whereas we have a wide range of accommodation TYPES, we want everyone's experience to be the same......quality, clean, no surprises....out past the edge of town..... -Catmanl7

Nice room with balcony. Have hot water for bath but not stable. Comfortable bed. Can go hiking during the day or go for horseback riding nearby. Beautiful mountain/forest views. Very nice environment. You also can choose to live in Ger, (Mongolian) is a portable, round tent covered with skins .

Thanks for the nice review. As for the hot water- we hear you! We just added another 100 gallons of capacity to the place. We found these really cool units that will work with a heat pump, and don't overwhelm our electrical capacity. This seems to be working out quite well. Trying to balance our extreme sanitary standards (dishwashers, on-site laundry, endless cleaning) with the need for hot water, on demand....just got better! Again, thanks! We appreciate your comments. -Catmanl7

We don't. Our gers are supported by a lovely bathroom facility, but it is located anywhere from 10-30 meters from the gers...requiring an walk through the elements. If you come in the winter..be prepared to pull on your boots. In the summer, it's refreshing! -JK.
Dear Steph- I assume that Urnuh has you all taken care of. If not, let me know. Looking forward to seeing you at the Lodge!
