We stayed 2 nights in one of the gers here in November. As it was out of season this was one of the few ger camps still open. It's in Terelj National Park about an hours drive from Ulaanbaatar.

One of the days it was packed full of Mongolian families which was a bit surprising but then we found out that was because it was a national holiday and they had all come to the restaurant.

Once they had left by 4pm we were basically the only people here. This is definitely a bit more of an upmarket ger experience. There is a restaurant on site which is your only option for eating as you are in the middle of nowhere. As a result it is a bit more expensive but the food was really good and the portions were huge (so if you are on a budget you can definitely share a single dish).

The national park itself is amazing. Great scenery and very peaceful compared to the craziness of Ulaanbaatar. The gers are really cozy. Although it was -10 outside the fire stove in the ger keeps it really warm. A guy even comes in during the night to keep it alight!

Best of all was the service from Urnugh. As it was out of season it seamed like it might be difficult to do anything as the staff on site have almost no English. But one email to her and she contacted a local to come and take us horse riding, and she organised a really nice driver to take us to the Big Chinggis statue and back to Ulaanbaatar.

Overall a great place to stay if you want to experience staying in a ger but also want a little bit of luxury. If you are a proper backpacker this is probably not for you. Also be warned that at weekends there could be a lot of Mongolian families there.

I stayed here many times since 2007 in both summer and winter. Every time I visit I am amazed with the quality of the service provided in the middle of the steppe - authentic Mongolian and American food, clean room with well stretched sheet, shower pressure, Wifi internet access, and freshly ground lovely tasting coffee. I absolutely love this hotel.

Dear Rabao- Thank you, thank you! We keep chasing that "devil that's in the detail". And, we try and focus on improving the things we do....every day. We recently ran a fiberoptic cable out to the place, and redid the routers around the property. So, we're seeing some much better WiFi service now.

This place was fantastic. Beautiful location in the national park. Staying in a ger with comfortable bed warm camel blankets then local freshly cooked food in the dining area. Good local beer available too. Hot showers nearby. A great experience. Lots of animals around too.

Stopped in the Ayachin lodge for breakfast. 8000 for an instant coffee in a paper cup. Food was tiny, boring, cold, and completely overpriced. Service was complete disinterested.

The place looks nice but the quality is lacking. Avoid the restaurant

The Ayanchin Four Seasons Lodge used to be the number one place in Terelj well above average. These days are gone. From my experience, things started to lack maintenance in 2019, now in 2020 the breakdown is apparent everywhere. Many of the once quality features are already broken. We had to stay the last weekend in the Gertech building without water and toilet and suggestion was to change the room. Facilities in the second room weren’t working either. The floor in both rooms hadn’t seen a vacuum cleaner for long time. The Jalousies were broken as well as the lampshades of the bedside lamps. We found a lighter in the pocket of the gown and lots of hair on the bedsheets – neither of the things had apparently been changed. The playground is also missing maintenance and toys like the seesaw are even dangerous as the seats are broken now. Prices are still high but not in line with the offered quality anymore. Two stars for the still good food and the friendly staff who is trying to compensate for the lack of maintenance. Not recommended to stay overnight – only good to go for an afternoon and eating in the restaurant. Really sad to see such collapse in the last two years.

The accomodations were very nice but the service was poor. No smiles. We felt like we were an inconvience to the staff. So we only stayed one night and had planned on 3 days.

There was no coffee in the rooms and though we wake early, there was no breakfast or coffee until 8:30 am.

I hope that the owner sees this and makes changes. Its a shame the service is not on par with the accomodations.

A treasure of a hotel in the national park. There’s a full Mongolian and western food menu in the restaurant. The “Gertech” rooms are clean, modern, and spacious. The staff are very friendly and professional. The resort has lots of its own land to explore and hike. If you’re looking for a getaway and have high standards, go here. Such a lovely experience.

Absolutely loved my stay at Ayanchin Lodge. Unlike other camps and lodges in Gorkhi Terelj NP which are much closer to the main street, Ayanchin lodge is tucked away in a little side valley on rolling green hills. Apart from its beautiful surroundings, the lodge itself is beautifully made with lots of hard wood furniture and wooden carvings in the gers. There is a big playground for kids.

I stayed in one of the wooden cabins, which had a fantastic porch for sitting outside. The beds were a tiny bit soft, but otherwise incredibly comfortable. The communal shower was absolutely clean and provided a very nice hot shower. Shampoo, hairdryer, a wooden bench and hocks for clothes were all available.

The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating and a large menu of Mongolian and western dishes, as well as a large selection of drinks.

Trying to find a horse late October was difficult but they did it. Bad news was they only found one so no guide. Just pointed South and said "that way less than 2 hours turtle rock.". Then pointed West and said "that way only mountains." Very feisty 🏇. Liked to gallop a lot. Only for experienced riders. 30,000T for 2 hours.

I have stayed in Terelj multiple times and each time at a different camp. My experience at Ayanchin was the BEST and I'm already making plans to visit again before winter sets in. I stayed in the Gertech and have to say....it was THE most comfortable bed I've stayed on in any ger camp or hotel in the country!! The linens and towels were soft and smelled great! The food was good and I very much enjoyed my morning coffee and breakfast while enjoying the view from the front deck. I took a three hour hike into the rocks and mountains behind the camp where I enjoyed natural beauty and solitude and the vistas that make Mongolia one of my favorite places on the planet.

Hi, Do you have ger with attached bathroom?

We don't. Our gers are supported by a lovely bathroom facility, but it is located anywhere from 10-30 meters from the gers...requiring an walk through the elements. If you come in the winter..be prepared to pull on your boots. In the summer, it's refreshing! -JK.
