Amazing resort in the middle of the city! Really peacefull and with a great swimming pool. The rooms looked well maintained and clean. Especially, the breakfast was good. They offered waffles, hot food and fruits.
We love markets of Southeast Asia but we don’t usually go for hotels next to them because they are often not so great. So when I saw the location of the hotel, right next to the central market of Pangkal Pinang, I told myself not to expect too much. But how surprisingly delightful this hotel turned out to be- clean, classy and tastefully decorated with heritage furniture and all. The service was fantastic and food at the poolside restaurant was really good! Wake up for breakfast if you stay here! And do stay here if you have the chance!
the place that you can stay close to the traditional market & catholic church, there is a special lift which is the first time I look at it, good breakfast, good pool, and the most important is excellent service of the hotel staff
One of the fanciest hotel and rich with history I've been. The place is gorgeous and we love every details. But there's room for improvement like the cleanliness of the breakfast, flies are everywhere. The pool is renovated that time, the restroom is small, we wish we upgraded to a better room, since their price is budget reasonable. The premise is right behind a wet market, hence, always expect a traffic jam. The service was good and the people are wonderful. We would probably go back there again and took amazing pictures again.
It is a well preserved hotel in the middle of the city. They’re well aware of the instagram/travel blog effects so there are many Instagram-able spots all over the property. Note that this is not a hotel with authentic antiques like Hotel Majapahit in Surabaya or Tugu in Malang, so architecture and history buffs, beware. Like I said before, the furniture and ambiance are designed for good instagram pictures. Staff are friendly and helpful. They took time to talk to talk to guests and gives good recommendations, and I observed this with reception and restaurant staff alike. I had packages delivered to the hotel and the staff took care of them smoothly. Their hospitality is much appreciated. The room is tiny but well stocked. There were coffee/tea station with electric kettle, free bottled water and cold teh kotak (in the fridge), and complete toiletries. The bed was comfortable, extensive selection of TV channels and stable wifi connection. The bathroom was cramped due to a separate shower box taking most of the space. I would recommend to take off the box entirely because it’s so hard to manuever in it and water keep seeping through the door anyway. I’ll recommend this hotel to those who want to try non-chain hotels. The service was great it’ll make up for the tiny room. …
a good hotel in a classic Dutch style, a cozy lobby with a fireplace atmosphere. but a little creepy at night, because there are white kebaya clothes framed with translucent glass and displayed along the corridor near the elevator. old wooden stairs with lots of mirrors attached to the wall as long as you want to go to the corridor of the room, maybe for some people who like mystical things can stay in this hotel. but everything paid off with friendly service, a rather large swimming pool, a minimalist but tasty breakfast, a unique restaurant
The hotel as seen on instagram etc is indeed very pretty. Even the building is old, the hotel is not spooky. But, if u're travelling with children please note that the bathroom is quite small bcoz of the shower cabin. The staffs are very helpful Breakfast menu varies from Mie Bangka, Chicken porridge, rice, beef/fish dish, potato, sausage, cereal and bread.
A very attractive hotel, with many beautiful spots inside. Took Junior Suite, room was quite big. Breakfast has adequate variety and some quite interesting local specialty. Service was good and friendly, but had a glitch upon check in where we already paid full by bank transfer and also already emailed the proof to their reservation and front office emails 2 days prior to our arrival, but reception staff seemed unsure and said will check again. Cleanliness of towel needs improvement, and housekeeping forgot to refill our toilet paper & bottled mineral water in the bathroom on the second day (first day upon check in, had bottled mineral water both in the bathroom & room). Room has coffee machine, but hotel was out of coffee capsules. Hotel needs to pay more attention to details in some areas. But I love this hotel and will definitely come back when visiting Pangkal Pinang.…
I love the ambience here, vintage looking. Many great photo spots. And all the staff is so friendly to all guests. The room is comfortable, clean. But the bathroom is not spacious enough. I like the bread and noodle at its restaurant, you must try it.. But Overall, you will love the ambience here..
This heritage hotel is from old building. Nice interior especially lobby, mezzanine and pool area. Building is well maintained, high ceiling, bright light. The staff is super friendly - especially front office staff. They have old lift - interesting to try. Just next to the hotel there is local market - a little bit smelly since they sell dried fish, but interesting to be explored and the catholic church. Breakfast is average, actually can be improved with more unique concept and taste, room is nice but frankly speaking - they need to refresh the towel supply. However overall, I think this hotel is a must visit hotel in Bangka.
