The Royalton Grenada presents a lively ambiance with energetic music, though some guests would prefer quieter spaces. While the hotel's location earns praise for its proximity to the airport and scenic beachfront, opinions on amenities and rooms are split. Notable compliments are directed at the views and fitness options, and the staff receives accolades for their attentive service, particularly from the Diamond Club. However, concerns over food variety, room maintenance, and value for money leave some travelers dissatisfied. Cleanliness is generally satisfactory, despite occasional housekeeping inconsistencies.

Really enjoyed a relaxing 2 weeks in a fabulous 5th floor room with theeeee best view of the Caribbean Sea and the sound of the waves…….beautiful, (thankfully building 20 has an elevator). We had excellent service from butlers Brad and Jermisha who were professional, friendly, unobtrusive and efficient. They WhatsApp’ed us every day and helped us with a few things and purposely came to find us each day to say hello and see if we needed anything. Nothing was ever too much bother. At the diamond club pool by the beach, Abigail, Rocky and Josh would never walk past without offering us drinks even if we were in the pool, or bring lunch from Nibbles beach bar if we wanted. All 3 are lovely people who do a great job. We never came across anyone rude, maybe a bit sullen, but I see this as ‘the Caribbean way’ with some people but I don’t see it as rudeness. Every person you pass always says hello or good morning whether they are housekeeping, kitchen, management, gardening, maintenance or restaurant staff.
I witnessed more rude guests than staff to be honest………
Yes there were a couple of days when towels and minibar items weren’t replenished but it’s not going to spoil my holiday. There were plenty of beers, wines, Premium spirits and soft drinks in the DC lobby to take up to the room, not to mention the snacks and fruits served from breakfast until 10pm.
Our room wasn’t serviced on 2 occasions, disappointing as I’d have thought the housekeepers day off would be covered by someone else. Again not the end of the world but something that should have been covered. Not something I’d expect compensation for though but I suppose that may be the expectation for some.
Restaurant buffet fairly good, as was the French restaurant and Taj was the best although starters very small.. Main courses very good.

A few improvement suggestions…..
More authentic Italian food and ambience at Grazie in the evening. Food was really poor and no Italian restaurant decor whatsoever. Breakfast was really good though and the terrace view is stunning. These tables are preferred obviously and allocated as you arrive and check in with your room number unless of course you’re the couple who’s wife arrives and sits at a table ahead of those waiting while her partner joins the line to check in your room number. I wonder if that was discussed with the manager??
Warmer food in the buffet, especially the bbq meats etc
Clear and reset tables more efficiently in the buffet restaurant to reduce queuing time for a table.
Encourage guests to throw used towels if they’re finished using their sunbed , maybe a few signs around to remind them. The pool staff do lift them now and again but why should they.
Entertainment a bit hit and miss with lots of audience talent shows, one night/week is enough.. More bands, singers, steel drums , reggae etc would be good.

Overall a lovely holiday and hotel that some attention to detail could make even better.

My recent stay at Royalton was a delightful escape. The hotel boasts beautiful beaches that are perfect for soaking up the sun or taking a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. As well as multiple pools overlooking the ocean.

One notable tip for beachgoers is to head to the beach near the dive center for a calmer experience compared to the rougher waters near the Diamond Club. It’s a serene spot to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.

While the hotel’s service operates on “island time,” it’s important to embrace the relaxed pace and savor every moment of your vacation. Patience is key, and the friendly staff will ensure that your needs are met, albeit at a leisurely pace.

While the food at the hotel was average, the variety of options offered at the buffet ensured that there was something for everyone. For lunch, Nibbles Beach Bar has a delicious burger and the hot dog is great too! For dinner, the Indian restaurant was by far my favorite followed very closely by the Italian restaurant.

One highlight of my stay was definitely Kelson and the Royalton Fit team’s Aqua Aerobics class that happens everyday at 11:30am. They were energetic, motivating, and made each session enjoyable. Even if exercising is not your thing, I highly recommend joining one of their classes during your stay! You will laugh and have fun and it’s only 20 minutes!

Another tip found useful during my time at the hotel was to roll a towel and place it at the bottom of the door to prevent bugs from entering the room under the door as there is a gap between the door and floor. It’s a small precautionary measure that can make a big difference, especially in tropical climates. We discovered this tip the hard way after having a very large bug in our room. Once we put the towel down we never had another issue.

Additionally, guests should be mindful of what expenses are covered by any credits they may have. Despite having a $300 room credit, my party was unexpectedly charged extra for lobster because it wasn’t considered eligible (despite the restaurant checking with the front desk that night to ensure it was and the nighttime receptionist saying yes). It’s wise to clarify such details at check in to avoid any surprises on your bill at the end of your trip.

Despite these minor hiccups, the Royalton provided a tropical retreat with stunning beaches, friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for a rejuvenating getaway.

BONUS TIP: ask the staff where to go off the resort and really embrace the island life and the Grenadian culture!

BONUS BONUS TIP: head to the main pool to catch a spectacular sunset!

The location is great, by the airport but not noisy at all. There are essentially 3 different beaches, one further up by the Aquarium restaurant which was fun for waves and easy to get in, the main hotel beach and a side beach which was quieter and shadier. One thing I will mention is the ownership should be better stewards of the coral. There really should be signs where one shouldn't try to get in the water. I was snorkelling and saw people (accidentally) stepping on and breaking beautiful sea fans. Some mention bringing water shoes, you don't need to if you watch where you enter and exit the water, if you're stepping on urchins you're probably also damaging coral. That said the snorkelling is really nice if you're mindful of waves, I wouldn't recommend it on red flag beach days. One more suggestion environment-wise is to treat the glass balconies so birds do not strike. There are many different species on site. It seems the glass was put up during renovations but it looks out of place and distracts from the original style of the resort. No single use plastic cups was a nice touch, made for a significantly cleaner beach.
People complain but we really enjoyed the food. Buffet was hit or miss but all three restaurants had dishes that really hit the spot. We weren't diamond club but had no trouble getting in, might be because it was only the two of us. The coffee could do with an upgrade. Entertainment was occasionally incredibly loud, like unnecessarily so especially for the rooms in building 19. I'd do away with the loud thumping music and stick to the dancing and themed music nights. There was a great steel drum band one night.
The service could be a little slow during peak hours but more than made up for that by the feeling that staff genuinely enjoyed their jobs. Also we were there to relax and weren't in a hurry anyways.
A solid 4 star resort with 5 star location and staff.

I am an experienced traveler who has visited destinations all over the world, and unfortunately, this has been one of the worst stays I have encountered.

Upon arrival, we were not offered a welcome drink, as we were informed it was only for Diamond members. Prior to our stay, we received an email stating that we could upgrade our rooms, and while the total price of our stay would be adjusted, there would be no additional charges. However, after approving the upgrade, we were later told upon arrival that it would cost an additional $650. Given that we had already paid nearly $4,000, we declined the offer.

Additionally, we waited over three hours for our room. Despite booking as a group, only two of the three rooms were ready. This was particularly disappointing as we were celebrating a birthday, yet the hotel mistakenly placed the decorations in the wrong room.

To make matters worse, some of our luggage was lost. When we inquired about its location, we were simply told to ask the bellboys, who also had no idea where it was. This lack of organization and accountability was extremely frustrating.

When I finally checked into my room, I was shocked by the lack of cleanliness. The pillow had stains, the bathtub and desk area were dirty, and there was visible rust on the bathroom floor. The bed had a hole in it, and the mirror was also unclean. My sister’s room had similar issues, including a stained pillow. Additionally, the rooms were extremely small, lacked a good view, and felt cramped and uncomfortable.

Furthermore, we were informed that dinner reservations could not be made after 4 PM. However, we arrived before 2 PM, and though two of our rooms were ready by 3:30 PM, we were still unable to secure a reservation. The dining option available for guests without reservations was extremely limited, with a small selection of food.

To make matters even worse, when we requested to speak with a manager regarding these issues, we were repeatedly given the runaround and never received proper assistance.

For a resort that claims to be 5-star, this level of service is completely unacceptable. From the poor customer service and lack of cleanliness to the disorganization and subpar dining experience, this stay has been highly disappointing.

December 2024
I took my family for Christmas and New Year's, staying in the Chairman's suite. The accommodations are unmatched in quality, and the views are absolutely amazing. If you have the means to book the Chairman's suite, you won't be disappointed.

However, there are challenges with the resort.

We were considered Diamond Club members as part of the booking, which gave us access to premium alcohol and the Diamond Lounge. The challenge was that no bars stocked any premium booze, and the only place you could get it was in the Diamond lounge, which is not near the other bars or restaurants. There is a beach bar in an ideal location, but it was never open, presumably due to staffing issues. Additionally, there were numerous issues with stock, such as running out of tonic, beer, and even food at times. It seemed the resort was struggling with basic provisions.

Outside of our butlers, service was very challenging throughout the resort. In previous stays at the Royalton, our butlers would reserve beach beds, etc. While they did not offer this service, they did complete our requests in a timely fashion. I do believe the staff is overworked due to poor staffing which contributes to the service quality issues.

Food quality was below average.

Buffet: While they always asked about dietary restrictions, the food was either not labeled or incorrectly labeled. On multiple occasions, a pescatarian in our group accidentally ate pork or beef due to the lack of standards.

Italian Restaurant: The Italian restaurant is a highlight for the views on the veranda. The food was better than the buffet but not on par with the million-dollar views. This could be a 5-star restaurant with some minor enhancements.

Indian Restaurant (TAJ): Our worst experience was at TAJ, with terrible service and food. We tried it again, and while it improved, it still did not meet the expectations of Indian food you'd find in the US and certainly not the UK.

French Restaurant: The French restaurant had good food. On our first night, the manager was serving (the entire restaurant --- Hats off!) due to staffing issues, and he did a great job given the situation.

On New Year's Eve, the resort offered surf and turf, but interestingly enough, it was shrimp paired with Italian sausage, which seemed weird and cheap.

Cleanliness: We have booked the chairman's suite at many Royalton's. While the staff did clean on a daily basis we were disappointed there was not a turndown service. At the Royalton properties we stayed at in the past, there has been turn down service provided.

Dear Coastal53163893828, Thank you for choosing our resort for your recent stay and for taking the time to share your review. We sincerely apologize for the challenges you faced during your recent stay at the resort, especially during such a special time as Christmas and New Year's. We deeply appreciate your positive feedback about the Chairman's suite and the stunning views it offered. It's clear that you had high expectations for your stay, and we regret that several aspects of your experience did not meet those expectations. We understand your disappointment regarding the lack of premium alcohol at the bars and the difficulties with stock availability, including food, tonic water, and beer. These issues are certainly concerning, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. With regards to the dining experience, we regret the inconsistencies in food quality, particularly with labeling and dietary restrictions at the buffet, as well as the disappointing experiences at the restaurants. Your feedback on the Italian, Indian (TAJ), and French restaurants is valuable, and we will take it into consideration as we work to improve both the quality of the food, and the service provided. We have noted all your comments and have already shared them with the relevant department heads to enhance the stay of future guests. It would mean so much to us if we were to have another opportunity to provide you with our usual excellent service, so that we may meet and even exceed your expectations. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with several aspects of my recent stay at the Royalton Grenada Resort in November 2024. The year before, we stayed at the Royalton Antigua, which was the best experience we’ve had so far. I have also visited the Royalton in Jamaica, which was satisfactory. However, after this disappointing experience, my friends and I have decided to move on to another hotel for our yearly getaway.

Firstly, we specifically requested a room with two beds but were given a room with a king-size bed instead. While I was fortunate to be traveling with my sister-in-law, this arrangement was still disappointing. We had paid for two beds, and it is unreasonable to assume we would be comfortable sharing a single bed.

Additionally, the promised complimentary perks were not provided as advertised. The upgraded mini-bar inclusions we were supposed to receive—such as two bottles of wine, Fanta, cranberry juice, sealed nuts and dried fruit, potato chips, and candy—were missing. Instead, the only items in the fridge were water, sparkling water, beer, and two juices. We even had to request additional water.

When I requested an iron, I waited two and a half hours but never received it, resulting in my attending dinner in wrinkled clothes. The next day, I was told only a steamer was available, which I waited four hours to receive. This level of service is unacceptable for a resort of standards.

While the resort itself is visually appealing, the overall experience did not justify the money spent. Traveling with a group of 12 people, I had expected a much higher level of service and attention to detail. Apologies from staff, while appreciated, do not make up for the disappointment of a vacation that fell short of expectations.

Finally, while most of the food was mediocre, I will note that the Japanese restaurant was the standout highlight of my dining experience.

We are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the room assignment discrepancy. It is our priority to accommodate special requests to the best of our ability, and we regret that we were unable to provide the two-bed configuration you requested. From the check in at the front desk, this has been the worst stay at a Marriott resort that I have ever had. We reserved an ocean front room with a king bed. The room was nice but there were two queens. While checking in and listening to other guests, it was obvious that the reservation system was causing trouble. The food at the buffet was marginal at best. Selection was good but the quality was poor. Many meats/fish were overcooked and difficult to cut with a knife. The bars were not very well stocked. We emptied a bottle of Irish Cream. Three days later they still hadn't restocked it. The pool area and beach were excellent as was the service throughout the resort. Housekeeping was inconsistent, our refrigerator was to be replenished every day, but some days it wasn't. We tried to play pickle ball on the tennis courts which were marked off for pickle ball. The courts were in disrepair with multiple cracks and an uneven surface littered with small pebbles. The temporary net was inexpensive and blew over with a slight gust of wind. There were no center markings in the kitchen area so you had to guess in placing the net. One of the guests in our party was initially moved to a room that lacked AC. The next room they moved her to had a broken door that would not lock.

My overall impression is that they are skimping on maintenance and purchasing inexpensive supplies to optimize profit. The setting is excellent with better management and more guest centered approach, this could be the outstanding resort they claim to be.

I stayed 4 days 3 nights at Royalton Grenada in Feb 2024. Overall, I enjoyed the picturesque resort & would visit again.

Hospitality:
Thank you to all the warm & welcoming staff that I met during my trip. I was immediately greeted by Kira, the bar waitress who offered me a delicious drink. Although the lobby was bustling during my arrival, Brad swiftly checked me in & informed me of all the local attractions and foods to try. They were kind and helpful throughout my time there. Shaquille & Shawn were also pleasant. There were activities like karaoke & live entertainment as well as fitness classes. The staff was accommodating.

Cleanliness:
My room (king bed w/ balcony) was clean & spacious. There were no signs of dirt, dust and the full length mirror was spotless. Housekeeping did a good job. I was very comfortable with the amenities like the slippers, robes, mini bar, and coffee/tea station. The resort is well maintained; the grounds are lush with greenery and the beaches are beautiful. Staff requested buffet guest to sanitize their hands before entering.

Location:
The resort is conveniently located 5 minutes away from the airport & a short 15-20 minute ride from the downtown area of Grenada. The resort is gated & secured. As a solo female traveler, I never felt uneasy. I booked transportation to/from the airport with the resort. Before check out, I was able to easily confirm my pick up time to ensure a smooth departure. Staff called me a cab when needed.

Food:
I ate at the Italian & French restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed my meals; the food was satisfying, and the wait staff was attentive. Food and service at the buffet were mediocre. I appreciated the ease of ordering room service via the tv.

Things to consider:
Be mindful when booking if you have limited mobility as some buildings do not have elevators.

We arrived at the Royalton and were amazed straight away at the look and up keep of hotel the gardens were beautiful and maintained .
We were escorted on a buggy to the diamond club reception we were greeted with very polite staff. When it come to payment we were told different on the phone which was in fact for one night so it was a shock when we were given a price which was doubled I did ask the staff on the phone to confirm the price twice which she did for 2 nights despite the mix up we had an amazing time.
Our room was exceptionally clean we had snacks drinks which was stocked up fresh clean towels and bedding I asked for a travel cot and immediately our butler provided it we opened the door to our balcony and we’re stunned by the view such a beautiful location .
Food was nice but I do think there should be maybe more options we have intolerances and we’re unable to get oat and almond milk as an alternative.
Entertainment was very good we enjoyed it .
I would like to say a huge thank you to Kebra Lindon shawntae for their help they were very kind attentive and polite we would also like to thank Shaquille John and Akim they were very attentive and friendly also helped me on the buggy with my little girl and talked to her too she smiled everytime she saw them and one we will never forget is Kyra she has the most beautiful personality she is a very caring friendly young lady always took the time to talk to us and ask us if we were ok If we could of made her employee of the month we would we hope that she goes far she really cared about her guests we will miss her thank you once again for making our time soo enjoyable we would love to come back in the near future :)

My husband and I just returned from a week's stay at the Royalton Grenada. The online reviews were a little but mixed but we went ahead and booked anyway as we are long time Marriott members and its location can't be beat being very close to St George's (quick taxi ride) and Port Louis Marina (we had friends staying at the marina on their sailboat from the ARC rally so location was key). Another friend couple also stayed at Royalton as well who are Marriott Diamond Club members. Royalton was perfectly fine! We are glad we booked and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely view from our balcony. The facility is smaller and older than other all-inclusive resorts we've stayed at in the past but very friendly, clean and easy to navigate. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. We are not foodies per se but we like a good array of healthy food options and the buffet was very good. The cuisine at the French and Indian themed restaurants are better than the Italian restaurant. Natiba did a great job servicing our room daily (sweet and kind young lady). When we are away on vacation a key amenity for us is a decent onsite gym/fitness center and planned physical activities offered by the staff. Roneisha was wonderful. She did a morning full body 30 minute boot camp. Because the resort was not at full capacity, I ended up with one on one instruction (essentially she was my personal trainer). She was friendly and motivating. It was perfect and great way to start my day. There is daily yoga and aqua fitness. Ronesha gave me tips too on where to get reasonably priced spices on the island :). Many thanks to Roneisha! Her colleagues Jeremy and Kelson are nice polite gentlemen and they all work well as a team. Jeremy took my husband and I on a two mile morning walk off the resort to a pretty private beach. Loved that. I highly recommend staying at Royalton. It's a good value.

There is a Diamond Club tower over 6 floors, I think. This was above the Diamond Club Lounge and this did have elevators. We stay in Block 15, Diamond Club, this was directly on the beach, this was over 3 floors and no elevator. Hope this helps
