We spent five days here to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Lovely little room with an enormous bathroom. Although we were out of season we still enjoyed ourselves blending in with the locals. Breakfast was served in the restaurant next door.
We had to find somewhere to stay last minute which was affordable so picked this place. It is centrally located in the Old Town and we stayed in what i assume is the cheapest room. The room on first impressions was quite cute for the price but the bathroom was the smallest we have ever seen. The toiletries were half empty where the previous people had stayed and the shower knob fell off when using it. The bed was comfy but the aircon is really loud and the walls are paper thin so you can hear everything outside your room.
This is literally an en suite room with nowhere to sit out and enjoy the atmosphere of the old town. The pictures are misleading as it looks as though there is an outdoor area. This is actually a nearby restaurant where breakfast is served. There is no plunge pool (misleading advertising as it is apparently in a bedroom), inflated prices on arrival and rude and unhelpful receptionist (in another hotel). Location is excellent and thankfully the Old Town is beautiful.
Me and my girlfriend we spent a weekend in the very beautiful village of Alcudia late in August this year. We spent two night at Can Simo Hotel and we're very sorry to write about a very unpleasant experience we had. The room was ok, traditional and fully equipped but we found out that our room was not located on the Hotel main building but in a sort of dependence accessible from a terrace over a terrace restaurant with people having dinner and moreover with a grill spreading all his smoke on a side of the room with the consequent smell of burnt food. Despite this little issues probably related to very high season, the unacceptable thing has been waking up in the morning with a very big black cockroach on our bed pillow next to my girlfriend's head. Once we found it out and killed it we obviously reported what happened to the reception lady who basically told us "we're very sorry, it's something difficult to solve". We didn't get any kind of refund, any additional service or some other thing for something we consider unacceptable when you sleep in a nice island such as Mallorca in a pretentious and expensive petit hotel. An unfortunate situation might happen but receiving no support or apology is not acceptable for the full price of the room.…
This is a beautiful hotel with lousy management. We booked Can Simo six weeks in advance, but at arrival we were shown to a room in Can Vent, the sister hotel, whitout no explanation at all. If that room was or was not a better room than what we booked we will never know. After check in we found that we had been overcharged. Not until the next day they could take care of that, they seemed to be very disturbed since no one in charge of the reception was on duty. The girl in the reception was working in the restaurant...There was no cleaning of the room day 1 and no refill of the water in the minibar. Day 2 our room was still not cleaned and still no water in the afternoon. Worst of all, there were no smiles, no welcome, no good vibes. Terrible feeling that the staff really did not like guests. Breakfast in their restaurant Sa Mossegada was terrible. Messy and very unpleasant environment. We stayed over New Years and had a nice New Years eve, not arranged by the hotel. The first day of the new year was such a disappointment. Everything, except for the terrible Sa Mossegada restaurant, was closed. Everything. One time in these hotels, never ever again. We packed our bags and left, two days earlier than planned. This is a shame, because the Can Calco Hotels are so cool designed, really beautiful. And they are situated in a beautiful old town. But the crew/management need to cheer up and start to love what they are doing. There is one very good thing about Can Simo. The restaurant S’Arc - it is totally wonderful! But that is not run by the hotel but by devoted people who love what they do and who knows what they are doing..…
It was out of season. Small boutique 7 bed hotel. Attractive bedrooms bar one at the end of the hall where the bed was uncomfortable. See my photos. Only friendly member of staff was the restaurant manager Pedro, half Italian and cheerful. Spotlessly clean. Nice cleaner who gave me extra boiled sweets for my throat. Bad WiFi connection at night. Comfy bed after I had changed from an uncomfortable dark bedroom with a writing desk and dark bathroom with double sink (forget the name of the room). I paid E75 single occupancy plus tax with a rather boring buffet breakfast. Had the weather been good, one could have sat outside in the garden area. Breakfast room rather sterile. It is the same room used for lunch (menu del dia) and S’Arc restaurant. 10 per cent off for hotel guests. Food average and overpriced except for their menu deal both lunch and dinner. Joanna was from Liverpool and considering I was too, was not the usual friendly Liverpudlian. Cool and efficient. Meanwhile her inflexible husband Pedro wanted to charge me E20 extra for a late checkout! I certainly would not return. …
Lovely greeting, beautiful rustic room. Air con for cooling/heating. Great location. Good variety for continental breakfast. We had an evening meal there. Staff are charming and the food is very good. Would certainly stay again if we ever visit Alcudia again. As we visited in January, there is some life and a few restaurants open but down at the port it is very quiet this time of year so would certainly recommend the old town. Only minus is the bathroom we had on the top floor was a stunning bathroom which we appreciated the upgrade but had no heating and was cold. Overall, we just enjoyed the experience!
Hotel fine but nothing near a four star. The deco is nice (stone walls) but the facilities are very basic. Plastic bathtub with marks in it, air conditioning that doesn’t really work that well, no laundry facilities. Our beds weren’t comfortable. Plus we stumbled across a huge cockroach at 4am in our room (my son turned on the lights to get water and it ran across the room). The staff were really polite and helpful.
We had a great stay here for a week , first week in February. weather a little cool, but the room in the hotel was warm and cosy. The room was a nice size and decent bathroom. The breakfast was a buffet , with a great selection of cold meats, bread , and usual sides. We stayed half board , the evening meal was a selection of two starter and two mains, decent quality . The service in the restaurant was good from the manager Pablo at night and his lady assistant Mercedes . The owner Joanne made us very welcome also. The local area has a few bars open , but as it was out of season very quiet . All in all a nice relaxing break.
We booked the hotel to be nearby our Son (who was working in the area). We arrived early evening and were shown to our lovely room, situated on the Ground floor directly opposite the foyer. We had a metal framed contemporary 4 post bed, ensuite bathroom including bath with shower attachment, Toilet and Bidet. Clean towels, soaps and the best bit .....A mini Bar with reasonable prices, (nice change from other hotels I have stayed at) the room also had a mini safe, Flat screen TV and A/C. We had booked the Bed and Breakfast option. (I was not aware that any other option was available). There is a indoor plunge pool attached to the courtyard, a small sauna and gym equipment in a basement area that I thought I might use, but sadly my week flew by and I did not use any of it!. The daily lunchtime menu we felt was good value and enjoyed a couple of lunchtime meals, we also enjoyed an evening meal on our first night. Not sure if it was the time of year (October) but both my partner and myself did get bitten a few times by mosquitoes in the courtyard area during meals. The staff were very nice and made us feel part of the family of the hotel. Breakfast was the mini buffet continental option. Local hams, cheese, sliced boiled eggs, tomatoes etc... Some cornflakes, black filter coffee, various juices, sweet cakes, croissants. There was no Hot breakfast option. A fresh Hot Boiled egg would have been nice option, but I appreciate space is limited for cooking at breakfast. Only downside to the Hotel we found was Noise. We thought being in the narrow lanes of the old town the only noise would be from pedestrians and bicycles, but you have restaurants wheeling their wheelie bins down to the old town perimeter wall refuge collection sites late into the night and early morning, then 2 stroke mopeds with the usual revving and horns followed by the mini street sweeping machines and even the odd delivery van and cars! If Im really honest, its the most noisy room i have ever stayed in! The old shutters and windows were great, and the hotel is full of character. We loved the decor of the hotel and our room. If we were to return to Alcudia I would have no problem booking the hotel again.…
