We stayed with Ben, Emma and family for a week at the end of July 22 after waiting 3 years and we were not disappointed. We stayed in Villa Miela with another family and there were more people staying at another location just up the road. We all got on superbly and gelled and had a great time. Ben and Emma’s knowledge of the area is superb, they speak the language fluently. They organised 4 full days of activities that included hiking, swimming in rivers and rock pools, jumping off bridges, kayaking and swimming around lake Skadar, visiting monestries etc they even arranged lunch at a local ladies house, she welcomed us and prepared some stunning local food. The holiday we did was based at the stunning Villa Miela, the views are amazing, the pool is a welcome addition where you can relax after a full days activity with a cold beer for €1!! We had two rest days, these can be spent exploring the local area by yourself or hopping on a mountain bike that they supply or alternatively you can sit and relax around the pool. I would just like to mention the volunteers that Ben and Emma have, they use volunteers from the work away scheme, they help out with daily tasks around the villa as well as escorting guests on activity days and driving vehicles etc. The volunteers we had at the time of our visit were Lauren and Laurien, a great couple from Cornwall, they joined in everything we did, I wish them the best of luck on their future adventures, they are cycling on a tandem around the world!! To summarise if you are looking for a fun filled activity family holiday this is truly the one to try, it deserves my A++++ honest review.…
I joined the week long multi activity holiday as a mum / 18 year old son combination, sharing a twin room in the spacious villa Miela shared with 6 others who started as strangers, but developed as friends. The panoramic view from our bedroom was stunning and could be seen from the patio, pool and yoga deck too. The week allowed for a combination of four organised trips, 2 free days and eating out or self catering in the villa.(food available from the supermarket 'Voli' in Virpazar, 2km down the hill by foot, bike or car and which also had a good choice of reasonably priced restaurants). Ben and Emma, who run the company and live in the house next door were incredible hosts, filling us all with enthusiasm by conveying their passion for the Country, whilst showing us beautiful, peaceful locations - Lake Skadar and in the forests, hills and caves. We kayaked, cycled, hiked and were driven in 4x4's viewing incredible scenery, visiting monasteries and seeing wildlife along the way, swimming on every possible occasion in the lake, rivers, rockpools and waterfalls and on our free days in the Adriatic too. So much wildlife to observe - birds (including the famous pelicans), snakes, butterflies, jumping insects and shining flying beetles , tortoises, bats, boars, toads, wild horses. This was a perfect holiday for all ages who enjoy nature, being active and something a little bit wild. The combination of organised activities and free time also worked really well - the perfect balance of activity and relaxation. The magic of Montenegro crept up on us each day making it very hard to leave. All in all a fantastic holiday and highly recommended..…
This region of Montenegro was beautiful. The guided tours and activities were high quality. Adjustments were made for our level of kayaking which was appreciated. Loved meeting and spending time with the other 4 guests. Villa itself is beautiful with comfortable beds and stunning views. No A/C, so hot in the summer even with fans. Kept dipping in the pool to cool off. Keep in mind, there is a shared kitchen and that almost all meals are self-directed with only one corner store in town. You'll need to buy for and prepare most of you breakfasts and dinners. Buy cooking oil, salt, pepper, condiments, coffee, etc. Only complaint was that Ben incessantly made fun of all things American, even our accents. It became tiresome and even one of the other British guests felt bad and commented about it to us.…
Great base for the range of activities on offer, lovely views and natural surroundings. Perfect for families, couple, friends or lone travellers. A gem of a property and a perfect place to stay. Virzapar a short walk away. Ben & Emma knowledgable about great hosts who took us on adventures we would never have found alone.
What a fab week at the villa Meilla. Ben and Emma made us all so welcome. The villa is beautiful and is situated in a gorgeous position up the mountain road just a 25 min walk from the village. Yoga every morning, then breakfast, then off to do exciting activities each day. Elaine our chef for the week provided delicious vegetarian food.
Villa Miele is a clean and comfortable base but more importantly staying there is an experience in itself. Breathtaking views surrounded by birdsong and butterflies. From the relaxing serenity of the yoga deck to the refreshing pool this is a wonderful place to be. Friendly pets and chickens add to its charm.
Had a wonderful week at this beautifully restored traditional villa, nestled in the wooded hills outside Virpazar. Lovely spacious airy and light bedroom, great pool and shaded yoga deck — all with fab views across the valley to mountains beyond. Ben and Emma were friendly and welcoming hosts, and also impressively knowledgeable guides during our adventurous week of lake kayaking, river swimming, hiking and wine tasting. I came away refreshed and revitalised, having been immersed in Montenegro's natural beauty, alongside discovering much about its history and culture.
Genuinely authentic holiday experiences are a rare thing these days but Ben and Emma deliver this and far more. Villa Miela itself is the perfect base for exploring the region. It's comfortable, well equipped and clean. Sipping a glass of locally made wine whilst watching the sun setting over the distant mountains - that's just the icing on the cake.
Just returned from a week in this gorgeous villa surrounded by amazing views. Inside is a fully equipped kitchen/diner/lounge and ensuite rooms. However we preferred to spend time outside on the beautiful terrace with bbq, pool, sun loungers, hammock and yoga deck.
We had a fantastic week in Villa Miela , enjoying the stunning scenery and warm hospitality from Emma and Ben. It would be hard to imagine a more perfect location than this gorgeous villa with it’s beautiful outside dining space, it’s gorgeous salt water pool and it’s breathtaking views. We had an incredible week of activities which included hiking, biking kayaking and swimming in waterfalls and enchanting forest glades. We met wild tortoises , lizards, dragonflies, and bats and saw Herons and Pelicans on lake Skadar and we ate like royalty. Emma and Ben are brilliant guides who took us to amazing unspoiled places that we would have never found by ourselves . Their love of their adopted country is infectious - this is a life affirming holiday !
