We spent 3 nights at Le Gaudin at the start of November 2016. We stayed as a couple but with our dog Duke also. Clive has a wealth of knowledge of the local area and helped us to plan our itinerary. Extremely easy to talk to and nothing was too much trouble! We couldn't have felt more at home and...

A friend and I stayed here two nights and recommend it highly. It is a former stable on a beautiful estate in the French countryside which has been meticulously renovated and is now an elegant lodge-type retreat. Clive, the host, is very attentive and, as others have said, a wonderful cook. We saw his kindness when two stray dogs showed...

My partner and I stayed in Le Gaudin for two nights on the way two and from Brittany. It is close to the main road, so not necessary to make a huge detour, but set in beautiful French countryside. The rooms are large, clean and beds comfortable. Both nights we had the excellent dinner prepared by Clive. The standard would...

Wow, to compare to a Michelin starred restaurant is high praise indeed and hopefully reflects the passion we have for it. Thank you for your thoughtful words and we hope too to see you again in your travels!

Everything about the Le Gaudin is excellent - the rooms are very comfortable and well furnished - dinner, served in the very large living/dining room is excellent and unrushed. Breakfast, served in the breakfast room, offers everything that you would expect and again is an unrushed affair. Clive is very welcoming and a great host and has a lovely home...

We stayed at LE GAUDIN B&B in August 2016 and had a fantastic time! The property is immaculately maintained and you felt like royalty when you entered the house! There were 7 people in my group: My parents, my brother, his girlfriend, my cousin and my 5 year old son. We stayed in 3 rooms that were beautifully furnished. The...

It was a privilege to spend two nights at Le Gaudin, one either side of a week in Brittany. Clive is a No 1 host who not only ensures a delightful stay in his beautiful property but also provides a wonderful evening meal, four courses worthy of a quality restaurant. We must also mention Jamie and her signature dish, chocolate...

Only stayed here for one night at the end of October, but what an amazing place to stay. Clive & Denise have lovingly transformed an old barn/stable block into an incredible home which really does have the wow factor. Fantastic lounge with lovely fireplace is immediately welcoming and the whole house is full of interesting artefacts (including lots of military...

The house is stunning & lovely & cool in the 34 degree heat we experienced when we arrived. The food was fabulous with fresh croissants each morning & 2 thoroughly enjoyable dinners especially, as mentioned in a previous review, the herb-crusted cod. If we go back to Normandy, we will certainly stay there again.

Easy enough to find on the main road from Auday we had chosen to base ourselves here to explore the Western Normandy beaches and visitor attractions. The place is a converted barn and Clive welcomed us with a friendly beer (nice touch and very welcome). The place is enormous and very comfortable. Guests are made totally at home and the...
