Bardia Home Stay is the perfect place to stay. The hospitallity of Sonja, Budhi and the staff is really great. Everything can be arranged and is possible. The flexibility is enormous. If you want to explore the national park the guides are really fantastic and they learn you a lot about nature, animals and plants and they see every little change in the grassland to make it possible that you can see the tiger, rhino, elephant or special birds. Lucky me i've seen all of those animals. Also the rooms are perfect, a lot of space, good sanitary. Besides the food is also great every day an different meal and if you have special wishes is also possible. Don't forget to explore the villages and try the cooking workshop in people's homes a great experience. The surroundings of Bardia is fantastic and gives you energy. Sonja, Budhi and staff thank you for everything and keep going all the good things you do.

I did a ton of research for my trip to Bardia and happened to come across Bardia Homestay. I reached out via email and heard back almost immediately. They were quite flexible with my Nepal route changing which was so kind of them. Honestly they have some of the best communication I have ever had with a guesthouse. They also were very helpful with keeping you updated on ways to get to their place. I was so happy to learn about the hot showers upon arrival. I honestly thought they were joking, but they weren't. It was the first hot shower I had in a couple weeks. There are so many options for trekking and exploring that you could easily spend 4-6 days here. I was so happy that we found a tiger on my second day of trekking. So much wildlife to be seen!! I do wish my guide could have told me more information about the other animals and birds we saw. Also, be sure to enjoy the sunrises each morning. The outside breakfast table provides the best view!! Overall, it was an amazing time and I highly recommend staying here!!!

Namaste Brent, Thank you for visiting us and writing this review. We are happy for you that you saw the tiger! But also sad that you had to leave earlier because of the lockdown of the airport. Next time when you are able to stay longer, the guide will tell you more stories and insight about the wildlife. For now take care and hopefully you can enjoy your further travels soon. Kind regards, Sonja, Budhi and Manmohan

We had an amazing time at this place. The people are very nice and very helpful! They can arrange any great jungle experience you want, such as jungle walks, Jeep Safari and a night in a jungle treehouse. They also offer very nice activities which give you great insight into the tharu local people and their way of living. If you want a great and relaxed stay at Bardia, we’d definitely recommend this homestay!

Had a wonderful stay with our family (2 adults, daughter of 6 and son of 8) for 5 days. The hospitality is superb and the service excellent. The room is spacious enough for the family, has all the basics, is clean and comfortable. Breakfast, lunch and diner is good. Enough divers choices and big portions. There are 2 lovely sweet dogs, some chicken (in a tree), there is a rabbit and enough space to play, elephants just 10min walk away, so the kids really enjoyed. There is a huge flexibility to arrange safari and all other sorts of adventure / cultural trips, for half or full day. The guides are very professional and surely know what they talk about. Sonja and Budhi have created a wonderful place to spend a holiday for a very reasonable price, and are fully dedicated to ensure you'll have the best Bardia experience!

A warm and welcoming place to stay before heading into the park. The rooms are clean, the showers hot (they are powered by solar panels, so in very cloudy weeks you might have a bit cold shower) and the food is delicious. For dinner, they offer one single meal and dinner will be served by the campfire. Even though you can't choose your own dinner, the crew will always ask if you have some wishes concerning diet or being vegan/vegetarian. The homestay arranged our tour with a guide and they give a lot of options on what kind of safari to do in the park. We did a 3-day/2-nights safari in the western part of the park and we were supposed to camp in the park for two nights. Sadly, on our second day there was a lot of rain. Our guide proposed to go back to the homestay, since the animals were not likely to show themselves in these circumstances. It was a pity that we had to cancel our second night at the campsite in the park, but Sonja gave us the option to head back to the homestay with a pick-up by jeep, an let us sleep in a room without charging us. The day after, weather conditions were better and on our third day we had a very nice day in the park with our guide, Balé. Because of the rain, Sonja even gave us some discount, even though it was not even her fault. Thank you Sonja, Budhi, Balé and the rest of the crew. I already want to go back!
