This is sadly how we found our accommodation at The Ragged Cot, where we have eaten many times. The bed was very comfortable but sadly that is where our appreciation of the room ended. It was very shabby and needed painting but nicely designed. It was the dirtiest hotel room

The room was fine. but there were no amenities. So as long as you were young and didn't want to blow your nose or to moisturise old hands you were fine. To get to or from your room to the dining room, bar and reception area entitled a climb of 4 stairs with no hand rail, so if

We stayed as a couple for two nights as a late Easter break . The main reason for the choice was location - a few hundred metres out of the front door and you are on the common complete with Highland cows and meandering golfers (sometimes both at the same time) The building is

My partner and i stayed here on fri 12th April. On first impressions the place looked nice. Although extremely busy as the main room had been hired out for a private function. Service was slow, but the food was nice. During the early hrs i woke up as something had startled me

Unfortunately, we on occasions encounter people such as yourself in life. This review is an utter fabrication of the truth, let us break this down for you better below so you can have a clearer understanding of your stay. During your stay, you caused a large and impossible to remove stain to a newly laid carpet in one of our bedrooms. Had you have informed us of this at the time we could have taken steps to clean this and no charge would have been incurred by yourselves. If you did attempt to clean this yourself, it was wholly ineffective, which is hardly surprising as you were on a weekend break and unlikely to have a stash of cleaning material on your person... Instead of which you attempted to hide this stain and checked out without mention of this, then did not return any of our calls, voice message or email requests to discuss the incident. We have call logs, email trails and photographic evidence to this effect. After 24 hours of no contact, our in-house housekeeper and a professional cleaner were unable to remove the stain and we charged your card the £150 'damage charge' for the stain. This charge is something we very rarely have the necessity to use, guests will usually seek our assistance if an accident occurs and we can rectify the situation, we are a professional organisation with appropriate equipment and chemicals to deal with such occurrences. When you eventually contacted us, because you became aware of the damage charge debiting from your account, you initially denied that any incident had occurred, eventually accepting that you had caused the stain when you realised there was a volume of evidence to this being the case. For the damage that you have caused, we have sent through photographic evidence to yourselves via email. The charge against yourselves does not come close to the expense we have incurred as a business. As you will be aware, you are barred from returning to the premise. I hope this clarifies the situation for you but I rather suspect you understood this already and wrote this all out of spite.... in which case, I refer you back to my initial sentence!

I’ve recently moved into the area and have had the pleasure of getting to know this country gem. I’ve visited about 6/7 times in the last three weeks and bumped into the manager twice. The pub runs like a well oiled machine and clearly the manager/owner Stuart runs a tight
