Located in the middle of the Cotswolds Water Park, there are a number of activities to enjoy around the hotel. Comfortable room and ample parking. Breakfast was plentiful. The biggest downside of this hotel was that it was very noisy in the morning. It is a dog and child friendly hotel but the hotel room doors don’t offer much sound proofing so we were woken up by people walking around in the corridors. Not that people should need reminding to be respectful but some signs asking guests to be quiet in the corridors may have helped. The hotel offers wellington boots as the walks around the lakes get very muddy. I would have appreciated a boot cleaning station outside the hotel for those that wanted to clean off their own boots.
Booked a 3 night stay away to unwind, this hotel is the perfect place to kick back and relax. The welcome was very warm, settings and decor stylist and clean, the staff work hard to maintain a high standard, the receptionists were so helpful and polite. We booked a deluxe with a balcony, it is worth paying the extra for at the very least a lake view. We ate in the main bar, breakfast in the Brasserie and chose Sunday lunch at a local pub. We booked in to the Spa on site which was amazing. Our room was modern clean and cosy. I thought the value for money was very reasonable. I would recommend and return, thank you for such a pleasurable stay.
Would not recommend this hotel. The bar staff were all trainees and got orders wrong each time and overcharged so check your receipts. Food at brasserie restaurant was awful, duck pate lovely, biscuits stale, linguine was tasteless. Shower was covered in limescale, very disappointed.
Stayed for a family event, hotel is surrounded by lovely lakes and all the staff from reception , the events team and the bar we’re amazing and looked after us so well. With a special thank you to the amazing housekeeping team as every corner and room was spotless.
Stayed here in February with my family. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was really clean and spacious and had a lovely view of the lake. The beds were really comfy, each room had a TV and fantastic floor to ceiling windows so you could appreciate the scenery. The walks around the hotel are lovely, I’d definitely recommend. Downside was that there was no freezer, you usually get a small one at the top of the fridge in apartments so was disappointed I couldn’t have a gin and tonic! In the evening we strolled down to the bar in the main building and enquired about where the restaurant was. We were told that due to a special event, all there restaurants were closed. Pretty disappointed that we weren’t told, the receptionist said they sent an email but I didn’t get one, maybe as I booked through Secret Escapes! We got a taxi to nearby South Cerney and had a beautiful meal. We had a few drinks over the weekend at the hotel, be warned, they are so expensive! £33 for a bottle of Pinot Grigio and £10 for an Aperol. I’d definitely come back.…
I was invited to an event as a potential client going to book an event. The hospitality shown, professional service and standard of accommodation and food was excellent. As a result we have booked our event at the venue. I had no reservations at all about the venue. It ticked all the boxes
There are some basics that any hotel should be able to provide for it to be a great place to stay and return. It needs to be comfortable, quiet and relaxing. I stopped Sun/Fri. The hotel is set in a lovely lake type environment and is very relaxing. The hotel lobby is nice and the bar is fairly chilled. No dress code which is good as I arrived in a hoodie and track bottoms from driving miles. Rooms are nice, but a little cold - which I get given the scandle of current gas prices! They only have the heating on occasionally and theres no way to change it in your rooms. Unfortunately, the relaxing vibe didn't last when guests arrived at either side of my room. This is the first essentially of ANY hotel - quietness. They both put their televisions on which are on either side of the walls of the room I was in. They may as well have been in the same room! I could hear their conversations, bowel movements, sexual activities..... honestly, it was terrible. I spent most evenings with noise cancelling headphones on and earplugs in when I slept. I have never had noise like it. Ruined the whole experience. So, for me, utter failure with the basics.…
On the whole it was good nice setting enjoyed it . The other nly thing that annoyed me was being told at breakfast i had 40 minutes . I didnt need 40 minutes i took about 25 but is it really neccesary to allocate slots for everything . I wanted to stay for 41 minutes to see what would happen but didnt bother in the end lol
My wife and I visited last weekend. We had a terrific weekend. Literally all the staff were extremely helpful. Very clean rooms. A small issue in room which was dealt with within 10 minutes. Everything was running smoothly, clean and tidy and reception, service and food excellent. Great treatments in the Spa too. This is probably our sixth visit and we are looking forward to the next one. Paul Lambert
Our room at the De Vere hotel, overlooked the nearby lake, as did the restaurant. The food, service, parking, cleanliness, location and standards were all superb. The hotel gym, spa, pool, etc are easy to reach and worthwihile. There are miles of different, flat & well maintained walks all around. Can't wait to revisit again.
