My fiance and I spent a week here and it was a truly lovely experience. We booked with Secret Escapes, so we had dinner and breakfast included with the package, and 20% off the spa, which was a lovely addition. The room was spacious, clean, and had a balcony with a breathtaking view of the lake. The staff were exceptional during our stay, nothing was too much and we felt really spoilt. The food was lovely, it was a reduced menu due to covid, but we were able to have something different every night of our stay, and if we wanted, we could have it brought to our room which was nice. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here and we intend on going back in the summer.

The hotel is situated in a great location with beautiful view of the lake! Overall the hotel staff at the Brasserie were welcoming and provided a good service. However, when we asked for room service, we were told that there was a minimum charge of £25, which we felt was too expensive considering we were looking to have a small bite between our meals. Due to COVID restrictions, a continental breakfast was delivered outside our rooms in a paper bag. The pain au chocolat was stale and the yogurt was not fresh. To improve the service, serving a fresh breakfast would be ideal. Overall, the hotel was overpriced for the service provided.

Last month we had a two night stay at the Cotswold Water Park. Our honeymoon this year was cancelled so we decided just to have a couple of nights away. We stayed in one of the recently refurbished apartments which were absolutely stunning, spacious and clean. We had a fabulous meal in the boat house on the first night. All the staff throughout our stay were very polite and attentive. Especially the manager Gareth who made our stay extra special knowing it was our honeymoon. The surroundings are stunning and we also enjoyed a swim in the spa pool. It's clear that the hospitality industry have faced some challenges since being back from lockdown but you can tell the staff are doing everything they can during these difficult times to make things as normal as possible. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

Liked: We definitely enjoyed the spa and the treatments. Gym was also good with different machines to exercise with. Very good service. The rooms on the first floor with the lake view are the best. I have attached a picture of the view Disliked: We were allocated a twin room when I booked a double room with lake view. When I told them they made a mistake I was initially told that the beds could have been put together to make a double bed(which is clearly not the same) and even that the property does not have double beds?! 🙄 When I complained about it few times and asked to be moved to a double room we were given a ugly room on the ground floor with no lake view, a small double bed, and a very old carpet with stains everywhere. When I complained again about it, I was given finally what I booked for which was a double room on the first floor with lake view for our second night. I was offered a discount for the carpet in the other room. They dealt with my complaint after all but only after flagging it to them several times which caused frustration and I definitely didn't like the room on the ground floor which wasn't up to 4 stars

Dear steo3112, Thank you for your recent review. I am naturally disappointed to hear that room fell short of your expectations and can only apologise that your first impression of the De Vere Cotswold Water Park was not a positive one. I am glad the team were on hand to assist, but appreciate the situation would have been frustrating. We are always looking for ways in which we can improve what we have to offer our guests and your honest feedback is essential in us achieving that. I was happy to read that you enjoyed the facilities, along with the service and once settled had time to take in the view. Hopefully it is this that you will remember and hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to us soon! Kind Regards, Gareth Bolton, (Deputy General Manager)

We came here for two nights after our wedding. Initially the stay was disappointing. We paid for a delux room with a lake view. It wasn’t really a lake view and my parents paid for the same the week before and had an amazing room. The drinks package is not worth the money! We asked for a selection of soft drinks and were refused. The reception staff could do with some customer service training as they’re all quite grumpy. After making a complaint on here, Liz from guest services couldn’t do enough for us, we were upgraded and it definitely improved our stay! She also offered us a selection of soft drinks as we initially asked for. I cannot fault the old boathouse staff or the brasserie staff! They are all amazing and make you feel so valued! The spa again is amazing! The massages were lush! The pool however was cold! I do think the price of the hotel is over priced. It’s an okay place for a night away, but I think it’s pot luck whether you get a nice room or not. We probably wouldn’t come again. The lakes are beautiful and we had a really nice walk around the local village.

Dear Steph_Wilman88, Thank you for your recent review following your stay here at De Vere Cotswold Water Park. Firstly congratulation to the both of you and apologies if the first room to not meet your expectations. Our Guest Relations Manager Liz assures me the complimentary upgrade to one of our Suites was welcomed by you both. As a team we do strive to make memorable moments, so both the Brassiere and Old Boat House team will be pleased that they ensured you had an enjoyable dining experiences. I do feel the drinks packages are value for money, but are quite heavily based around alcohol, so I will personally look into our offering for non-alcoholic alternatives . We are always looking for ways in which we can improve what we have to offer our guests and your honest feedback is essential in us achieving that. I do hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you both back to De Vere Cotswold Water Parkin the future, Kind Regards, Gareth Bolton (Deputy General Manager)
