i remembering going in here a couple of years back was a lovely little cosy pub with a few nice beers, we had a nice meal and went back to our hotel happy, it has unfortunately gone down hill since then. they only had had two very boring beers, which the lady behind the bar did

Room was perfectly adequate if a little small. No traffic noise as The Thatch Inn is set well back from the road. However interior soundproofing was rather poor and further sleep was impossible after other guests had awoken. The sound of someone else’s shower was quite

The Thatch is under new management (same company that owns Hatton Court Hotel in Glos and The Snooty Fox in Tetbury) and had been recommended by friends. Three of us arrived on a Friday lunchtime (we hadn’t pre-booked) and received a very warm welcome. The service was excellent

Thank you for your kind comments Stepanief197, You're quite right in your understanding that we are a part of the Hatton Collection, also including the Beehive in Cheltenham and the White Hart in Winchcombe, as well as a Taunton Property and two Jersey ones. We are working very hard on refurbishments and building the Thatch in to the successes that our sister properties enjoy. Would you say a thank you to your friends for recommending us, it's certainly appreciated. I'm delighted that you thought the service to be excellent and the food to be lovely. The team will certainly be pleased to see that their efforts are recognised. We do actually play music in the bars via Sonos, but it would appear that it was at the appropriate level and content if it didn't stand out as a memory. Thank you again, and please do say hello when you return.

Can't rate highly enough, food was lovely, room clean, staff friendly and helpful. We picked this place at random, originally as a house hunting base. However it was so nice that we decided to abandon that idea and just enjoy as a break.

Thank you for your lovely comments Mark, they're most appreciated. The team will be delighted to hear that you recognised and acknowledged their effort hosting at the Thatch. I particularly liked the fact that you enjoyed yourselves so much that the planned house hunting went awry. I hope that we might see you on the next house hunting adventure, and look forward to seeing you again soon.

I popped in to The Thatch Inn on Saturday afternoon with a friend after a recommendation for lunch and was not disappointed at all. If you are a tall person, you do need to be careful of the low beams when walking into the bar and restaurant area. It was quiet in the bar area

Thank you for such lovely comments AMSchumm, I'm thrilled you enjoyed your lunch with us so much. Scott was on loan to us for the weekend from our sister property in Tetbury, the Snooty Fox. I'm sure he enjoyed his short time with us too, and he will be delighted to be recognised. The Salt and Pepper Calamari was very popular but having been on for quite a while, have just introduced a Piri Piri Calamari which seems to be received equally as well. The rest of the menu has been changed for the season too and there will be some lovely specials making an entrance, making the most of the short asparagus season as well as some surprises for the weekends. I agree that the food we offer is good value, especially considering the products we source and the love that goes in to turning them in to dishes at the Thatch Inn. I'm afraid that the low ceilings in the bar did catch me out several times in the first two weeks, but with a building of such age and character, there are some additional charms that aren't perhaps so welcome for the taller of us. We're looking forward to seeing you again, so that you might try some of the gorgeous new additions to the menu.
