Definitely the highlight of our family vacation to France. Conveniently located for easy trips to either Mont Saint Michel or the Normandy Beaches / Normandy American Cemetery. Our host, Patrick, and his staff are outstanding and most accommodating. Overall, a very charming, peaceful and a unique experience.

This is a privately owned chateau dating back 900 plus years. Staying here was a unique experience for us coupled with breath taking views. The property manager and ambassador is Patrick H and he is in his own way as memorable as the property. Patrick is the host extraordinaire. He arranged our tours, Military Might D- Day Tours by Valerie... More

Traveled overnight from Portsmouth to St. Malo by Brittany Ferries using one of their Commodore Cabins and of course their excellent restaurant, your holiday really does start the moment you have driven aboard, excellent service and food. Drove through the lush Normandie countryside to the Chateau, we had told Patrick, the manager that we would be arriving at about 3'ish... More

We got the opportunity to stay in this great chateau for 4 days !!! It was really an unforgettable experience. Please don't call this a hotel, it's so much more !!! We really had the feeling that we were priviliged guests in this castle. A castle with a history going back for more than 900 years. It's an ideal location... More

What a wonderful experience we have had. Chateau de Canisy with all it's history, beauty and first class service was amazing. Highly recommended. We enjoyed walking and cycling in the grounds, archery and a delicious dinner all smoothly orchestrated by our host gardien. We are now looking forward to our return visit....

We recently stayed 4 nights at Chateau de Canisy and it was an amazing experience! If you are looking for a hotel with all the amenities of a large hotel (pool, gym, 24hr room service), this is NOT for you. However, if you need a respite from life for a few days or a very special getaway, this is the... More

Although we were only there for one night, my wife and I had a fantastic time at the Chateau. The staff was incredibly nice and shared much of the history of the property and it's owners. The grounds are huge and great for walking around - much more than you could explore in several days on foot. Highly recommend the... More

A beautiful aged chateau with a massive estate – a real classic piece of art. It is of course suffering from some of the downsides of an aged building, but you can’t have the cake and eat it… The common rooms (music room, dining room etc.) are majestic and the bed rooms are charming and authentic (could use a minor... Staying in the castle was an amazing experience for the adults and our kids (aged 10 and 8). The things we loved best were -the whole dining experience (the delicious 4 courses & amazing vegetarian course for one of us, the aperitifs, the grand surroundings in the dining room, the breakfast with a special mention for the pancakes - staying... In a word Fantastic! We stopped here for a couple of nights while on a driving tour of North France. It's not like a normal hotel, more like being invited to stay with a very rich friend. We dined at the chateau each night and the food was superb. If you are looking for a place to rest your head... More
