It was a great time in the amazon. I wish I had more time. I did the 3D/2N trip. It started off great I was picked up from the airport and driven to Iquitos to their main office. ( I did book this last minute so the guide did take me to buy a poncho, head lamp and bug spray before we left). the 2 hour boat ride to the resort was bit long but worth the weight. Rene my tour guide was great from the start as we were walking he quickly spotted monkeys and pointed them out. He was great at this during the whole trip always informative, fun and talkative. The rooms were very basic. There were beds, toilets and showers(Showers were cold but felt great after long hot days). Power was on from 6pm - 9pm. Thats why its an ECO lodge. I enjoyed how they did the activities. Always break before and after eating food. Food was great. Cooked the piranha we caught on the final day. The staff was very very helpful. The lady staying next to me got sunburn and at dinner our guides sent someone into that night and she had sunburn relief by the next morning. Also my guide willing to change things on the fly as one afternoon I did not want to hiking and we decided to kayak instead. I would like to go back for a longer stay and see more. I highly recommend.

Property's Favorite Review
We booked a 4day/3night adventure with Manati. We found them online and settled on them after reading some reviews and liking the proposed schedule. We were not disappointed. The communication was great, they were accommodating in every way pre-trip (we gave them our odd flight times in and out of Iquitos and they said "no problem"). We were met at the airport, transferred to the port and on our way down the Amazon to the lodge. Seamless experience. Good accommodation, great food, and fantastic activities. We were led by Cesar, our great guide, and we went to Monkey island where we cuddled monkeys and learned about their ways at the rescue shelter, a night trek where we saw critters and others, dolphin watch and an early sunrise, local villages, piranha fishing, treks in the jungle, and many other fun activities. All with a smile on the staff's faces. Cesar was great, as were the rest of the lodge staff, as well as the office staff. To be certain, this is not a luxury lodge, but the room was clean, and it was exactly what was expected in the middle of the jungle. Amazon is amazing. Manati delivered a great experience and I can only recommend them.

I booked 3 days and 2 nights and was extremely happy with everything. From getting picked up at the airport in Iquitos to being dropped back at my hotel there at the end of my trip, everyone was professional and helpful. Enjoyed the treks and activities and felt very well supported everywhere. Special thanks to Edwin who is a very knowledgeable guide and someone who is dedicated to looking after the guests. Make sure to ask for him! The premises were comfortable, the food was good and all the other staff were also friendly, professional and helpful. I highly recommend this group and would be glad to go back there another time!

We had the best tour guide! Edwin was seriously the best tour guide I’ve ever had and made our experience. He truly loves what he does and he expresses it through is guide. Very knowledge and cared about our experience. He wanted us to have a good time and we did! When I say the tour guide makes the trip I mean it! Request him if possible.

I really thought I would like this tour, based on the Trip Advisor reviews. And I tried to like it, but there were just too many strikes against it. Pros: Guides/employees were very nice and helpful 1. The food was surprisingly good, and they were very accommodating to vegans/vegetarians 2. Small groups made the tours easier to enjoy Cons: 1. The lodging was substandard. I was prepared for no A/C, no electricity outside of a small window of time, and no hot water. But the beds and pillows were so uncomfortable and the rooms lacked basic amenities. For example, some people in my group did not even get sheets until they asked several times. We also had to ask for soap and mosquito nets 2. We were told we would be going to monkey island, a monkey sanctuary that allows you to interact with monkeys in their natural habitat. That never happened. Instead, we went to a wildlife "refuge" where all the animals were in captivity and the caretakers had no respect for the animals. They had a jaguar in an enclosure who was clearly NOT interested in interacting with people. But the guide wanted us to see it, so he poked it with a stick until it ran out of it's hiding spot, hissing and growling. They also picked up their animals and passed them around like they were toys, not giving a thought to how it would stress the animals. They had a sloth hanging on a cage and the guide literally pried its hands off the cage so he could pass it around like "a baby". This tour was very misleading

Hello brigit0507, Thank you for your feedback. There must have been some type of miscommunication about the sheets, we provide them for every room and every bed always. Additional soap is provided upon request. We do offer mosquito nets, they are also provided upon request. I would like to know more about your experience at monkey island as this is not a typical experience or feedback that we receive. Our staff cannot control the volunteers behavior at Monkey Island but your feedback sounds very concerning and I would like to bring this to the sanctuary's attention. Please reach out to us via email to discuss further.
