We loved our time here. We only stayed 2 full days but with Rodrigo as our guide we were able to do so many fun things. We saw monkeys, swam with pink dolphins, and fished for piranhas just to name a few things. Rodrigo is an expert of the jungle and has so much experience with all the animals and plants. Any question we had he was able to answer. We ate like kings and queens for every meal. The lodging was modest but was perfect for a night in the Amazon. The shower and bathroom was clean and worked great. We were able to relax knowing that we were taken care of all of our needs including taxis to and from the excursion. We highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a hand on experience of the Amazon.
We did the 4 day 3 night tour and it was packed with activities giving a great view of the Amazon river, the surrounding jungle including the plants, animals, local villages that make up the area. Edwin was our guide and was energetic and super knowledgeable on all the jungle secrets. He made the tour top notch. Food and lodging were comfortable for a remote jungle lodge. Would recommend!
We booked a 5N/6D camping trip with Maniti. The review would be 3.5 stars if I could offer halves. Our guides Frank and Peter were fantastic and the best thing about the trip. Their enthusiasm and knowledge of the Amazon and its people, culture, and wildlife was faultless and on display at all times. We enjoyed their company and learning from them most of all. But it became evident to us that the tour we had booked was not what we got. The company that operated the trip was an entirely different one (Lupuna Expeditions). It had a considerably different itinerary, and took us to an entirely different part of the Amazon to what we had anticipated - focused more on the Uyucali River and the area south of it, rather than the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve itself (which we’d been reliably informed had the best wildlife and bird spotting opportunities we were after). We ultimately stayed only one token night in the Reserve and, instead of going deeper into the jungle as we’d discussed, we spent most of our time circling around areas close to Lupuna’s lodge. We were advised it’d be best if we spent some nights at this lodge (which we had to go to first to pick up supplies (not in the itinerary, a waste of half a day, and the facilities of which were VERY basic). But that turned out to be a blessing because we ran out of food on our last camping day. The camping tents were fine, but the bedding materials (a thin, old mattress, no pillow) supplied were musty and smelly: so you can’t be precious. In all, the experience was enjoyable, but certainly not what was advertised. So if you have a firm idea of what you want to do and where you want to go, you may need to establish clear expectations about what is on offer before booking.…
We have been at the Maniti Lodge for 4 nights and it couldn‘t have been better. Thanks to our fabulous guide Edwin we experienced more than expected. The whole crew was very gentil and the food was always delicious. We would definitely recommend booking your tour with Manitis.
So much to say about this experience! I learned so much thanks to my awesome guide Rodrigo! I felt safe the entire trip! Although i ended up with some mosquito bites it was all worth it! The food was great and the staff were all amazing! It’s truly an experience to live in the jungle for a few days! You can’t expect anything fancy here because you’re in the jungle but for being in the jungle I think it is one of the locations with better lodging and amenities. Rodrigo’s English is amazing which made the whole experience a lot better for me personally. Make sure to bring extra cash at a minimum 250 soles or so to tip your guide the staff buy drinks and for the additional activities. I suggest bringing more than that to be safe and generous because they all go the extra mile for you! Although there are protests in Lima and Cusco at the time I was visiting, Iquitos had none of that going on and was safe. They’ll pick you up at the airport and coordinate everything smoothly. Highly recommend this once in a lifetime experience!…
One-Of-A-Kind tour experience, and exceeded expectations every time. Hospitality like it means. They ensured to make it feel like home by establishing comfort with setting the expectations right. Good food, great presentation, and a skilled chef. The tour was guided by Rodriguez. He was an inspiring character and couldn’t have asked for anything more. His vast knowledge of the Amazon jungle and the wildlife was mind-blowing. Very fluent in English and a few other languages. He ensured safety and didn’t shy away from pushing to take chances. The sunrise, sunset, fishing, and wildlife watching was offered as experiences at their best. Rodriguez’s enthusiasm and dedication can be very contagious. Never there’d be a need for an alarm. He identifies birds and plants in a heartbeat and has in-depth insight into the species and their quality. The feeling of being in the jungle and yet feeling at home was a wonderful feeling. Thanks to Rodriguez, Geto, and everyone there who made it possible.…
We had a great time at the lodge! Our guide Rene was the best! Great human being, we were honored to spent time with you. The food was also great, we enjoyed every meal! Rene the chef knows how to cook. All the other guys were also very friendly and supportive.
This was a great experience in the Amazon jungle. My son and I did the 6day 5 night tour. Being that our travel agent had never heard of this tour and I'd found it by Google search, we had an amazing experience. There was someone at the airport to pick us up and take us to the Maniti office in Iquitos. From there we took the 1.5 hour boat ride to Maniti lodge where we met Rodrigo who was our guide for the next 6 days. Rodrigo speaks very well English so language was never a problem. Pros: Every one was friendly and there to make us feel welcome We were well looked after even when last minute changes needed to be made Vibrant colors Amazing food Every village was friendly and welcoming Always felt safe Clean rooms (rustic but clean) Own bathroom and showers Rodrigo made sure our goal in the jungle would be fulfilled (such as my son was there to catch a variety of fish) Sunrise and sunsets do not disappoint The resort is luxurious but we went for the jungle experience and that did not disappoint Cons: The actual people on the ground didn't know what our package entailed ( the people manning the website and emails don't communicate well with them). This being said the owner of the resort and Rodrigo made sure we got what we had paid for once we told them. Bring only small currency. 20 soles is best We are Canadians from northern Alberta and try to spend as much time as possible in the Rocky mountains. This trip did not disappoint.…
We just got back from a 4-day trip in Amazon jungle! We had a wonderful time. We saw a wide variety of wildlife including bats, monkeys, kinkajous, tarantulas, poison dart frogs, pink dolphins, vultures, cranes, and more. Our guide Edwin was very passionate and knowledgeable about all the plants and wildlife! We fed monkeys, swam in the Amazon, caught piranha, and camped in the jungle. The food was amazing and we'd recommend this trip if you like a good adventure!
Would recommend this company! Our tour guide Rodrigo was extremely knowledgeable. You could tell he had a genuine passion for the flora and fauna of the Amazon. It was a nice touch that he took photos of everything and sent them once the tour was finished. The accomodation was comfortable while still feeling like you were amongst the Amazon. The chefs did an amazing job with the food. Would recommend doing the tour in the wet season as some activities on the itinerary weren’t possible during the dry season. This meant we spent a bit of time relaxing at the ecolodge. All the staff at the ecolodge and at the Maniti office were extremely friendly and accomodating. The add on zip line activity is not worth the money unfortunately. Overall, a great experience!
