NUMBER OF ROOMS
I’m posting from my room after having been here for nine days. We are in a villa overlooking the sea which is so beautiful. I originally booked a beachfront villa and paid a cheaper price at a “non-refundable” rate. When I found that they were doing work on the beach, I got nervous that there would be work around us and I called and asked to be moved to a deluxe oceanfront suite. They complied and refunded me the difference in money ($1300). I thought that was very generous. They could’ve offered me nothing or a resort credit but they were more concerned about my frame of mind. In any event, the construction would not have affected the beach front villa at all. The villas on the beach that are open are away from the construction. I’m still glad that we moved because it is so peaceful on our terrace, while the beachfront villas have a lot of activity around them. I think people are making way too much of the construction on the beach in the reviews. We were here seven years ago and the natural landscape has changed dramatically as it pertains to the ocean. The “windy” side needs work and is closed. When we were here last, there were always very few people on that side anyway. The “calm” side is open and beautiful. It is rougher on the calm side then I remember it being years ago. On Friday “Valentine’s Day“ they opened another hundred feet of the beach on the calm side. The construction is really a non-factor in my opinion. You can always get chairs at the beach in the shade or sun at any time of day. There are no issues with towels. The pool near the beach also always has open seats and enjoys the most delicious breezes. There is a beautiful pool in the middle of the resort which does seem to fill up early. I am a drinker and the quality of alcohol is good enough for me. I drink gin and tonics and they have Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire. If you like whiskey, as I do, they have Johnny Walker Black, Jamison’s, and Jack Daniels. They have a huge selection of good rums. We didn’t have any issues with dinner reservations. The one night we couldn’t reserve was the day we arrived. All other nine days we got reservations. We do eat late, so maybe that had something to do with it. The reservation system opens on Friday for the following week through Sunday. Since we arrived on a Saturday, we were able to book the entire next week through Sunday. I can see where if you arrive on a Monday or Tuesday and are only staying a brief time, it might be an issue. It also might be an issue if you like to eat at 7 o’clock or so. We needed to recharge our batteries, and we certainly did at a very reasonable price. We would definitely return.…
We just came back from our trip at the Luxury Bahia Principe. We have been positively surprised and delighted in so many ways. The first thing is about the service. It is just exceptional. Everyone in the staff is aligned with no exception, to ensure you have a wonderful time and deliver you a great service. There are so many names I wish I could remember, but never we felt not welcomed. Special thanks to Ana Maria Manaury Samary Elena Josue Ana Lisa Graziella (And many others...) We travelled with an infant, and they had special care and attention for anything we needed. Our room was prepared with such care for our little baby, and the facility was quite adapted for our little family. Our baby was so happy as the staff was always interacting with her. Many thanks again to them! The second thing I want to share is the location. It is just beautiful and far from all the resorts. So you have the feeling to be in a quiet environment, far from everything, in a small remote island. The hotel is very nice, room are spacious, and food was good! Keep that up! It was just excellent. My husband and I spent last week at this resort and we would definitely recommend it! The staff are extremely hospitable, friendly and welcoming. Food was great, resort and pools are very clean. Entertainment staff are the best 👍😊. The only thing we thought could be improved on is the fact that the main bar closed at 11pm.
Simply put, it was a perfect week of rest and relaxation in paradise. We were exceptionally impressed with the hospitality and kindness of all of the resort's staff. Food and drink were on par for an all-inclusive resort. We enjoyed meeting fellow guests from many countries, making the week even more fulfilling. Our villa was comfortable, housekeeping and butler service excellent Security is obviously important to Bahia and we felt safe. The island is a tropical paradise, with a symphony of birds greeting you every morning. I can't imagine complaining about the beach situation. Although obviously more limited than in the past, it was still beautiful. Truly, we will recommend this destination to many others and quite likely return in the future.
Had our second visit to Cayo Levantado this January. Unfortunately the place isn´t adults only any more, and this year it was so more noisy and more kids than last year. Because of this we won't probably visit the resort any more, I don't like the way it has changes. Also it was more crowded every where, you couldn´t find sunny places at the pool any more. The beach is under construction, and it was really small at this moment and full of people. The resort is really nice and super clean. And the food at the buffet is mostly wonderful, even I who am quite picky, can find something to eat every time. The staff is doing their best. Especially I would like to mention Fernando at the beach bar and Esther, Rosario and Georgina at the buffet. Even despite the language barrier they made us feel like home. …
