My husband and I just visited Beloved Playa Mujeres from September 15-24, 2023 for our honeymoon. This resort is so phenomenal. We couldn't believe our eyes. We were treated like kings and queens!!! When we arrived at the resort, we were treated by friendly staff and given special drinks. The check in process was such a breeze and the front desk worker was so nice to us. We were able to get our room right away even though it was around noon. (The lobby also always smelled amazing!!). We were then taken to our rooms and a bellman brought all our luggage for us. We really appreciated the honeymoon sign on our door, it really made us feel appreciated. We also got a bottle of champagne and multiple alcohol bottles (vodka, rum, jack Daniels, tequila, 2 bottles of wine, and a fridge full of beer, pop, juice and snacks). We had the casita room with private pool and jacuzzi. There was also a daybed next to our private pool which was great! We are so glad we got this room and I would recommend upgrading to it. The pool is almost 4 ft deep and pretty long. They do a cleaning/turn down service twice a day which is great because the fridge is always getting restocked and the towels are always replaced and bed made, etc... The beach was very nice and very little seaweed compared to other places I've been to in mexico. The daybeds were nice and comfy and there was always some shade to be in, which was great since it was so hot when we went. The staff at the beach were always there to help you, whether it be to bring you a drink or food, grab you towels, clean your sunglasses, or ask if you need anything. But there was no constant pestering and it was not annoying at all. Claudia was always there to help us with towels and set up our daybed. She was great!! Antonio was also great at grabbing our food and drinks whenever needed. The pool bar area was nice and big enough to have your own privacy if wanted. The resort was not busy enough for us to have to wait a long time for drinks at the swim up bar (which is where we spent majority of our time when in the pool). Joel was an amazing bartender at the pool and he learned what drinks and shots we liked and always made them for us. There was minimal activities at the pool. Some days there was a violinist (he was amazing!!!), or a saxophone player for a little bit, as well as blackjack at the pool for half an hour but that's pretty much it. There is always a speaker at the pool bar but it wasn't crazy loud or anything and they played all kinds of genres. There is also daybeds around the pool to lay on if needed. The drinks were all great, from the Pina coladas, mudslides, margaritas, daquiries, to even the gin and tonics, etc.. I never had a bad drink and the bartenders were more than willing to make up a drink or shot for you if you told them what flavours you like. The lobby bar had the most extensive menu, which were very fancy and delicious. The restaurants were top notch! My husband and I consider ourselves foodies and we were so impressed by all of our meals. The presentation was so professional and the taste was just amazing. Whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack we were always so impressed and couldn't believe how great everything was. We were always so full and tried our hardest not to each too much, but we always did! For breakfast there was a buffet, but not your usual buffet. It was not gross or dirty and was very tasty food. There was always a soup, chicken, beef, pork, potatoes and then bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, french toast, churros, scrambled eggs, an assortment of breads, bagels, and pastries. As well as cereal, yogurt, fruit. Also a sushi and fish station as well. There was also an egg menu you can order from, but my husband and I didn't find it necessary. For lunch there was an Italian and French restaurant, as well as the buffet for breakfast ran until around 1 p.m. there was also a taco truck, beach service menu, and room service. Again all these places were so amazing!! For dinner there is a different menu at all the places listed above (but taco truck closes at 6), as well as a steakhouse, sports bar and a sushi bar. We went to the sushi bar almost every night (on top of going to restaurants hahaha) because it was our favourite. Pasqual made the absolute best drinks and would make us up whatever we were feeling. And Raffaele made us the best sushi. We never really ordered off the menu, just told him we were open to everything and he made us the best stuff! Sooooo fresh! We also enjoyed hanging out with these two men while they were working and just talking with them throughout the night. They were very friendly. I also need to shoutout Eduardo as he was one of our favourite servers. Always coming to us to bring us drinks, whether it was at the pool, our room or at the sushi area. He was such a sweetheart! I can't mention it enough how great and amazing the food is! They also have so many dietary restriction and allergy options for those who need it! There is also a coffee bar which makes a great assortment of coffees and teas and have a ton of pastries to choose from. These were great too. There was something going on every night, which was usually in the main area around the sushi bar. While we were there, there was a casino night and a couple bands throughout the week. There is also a silent disco on the beach on Mondays at 9 p.m. and it was the best thing ever!! This resort IS NOT a party resort. Since it is couples only and adults only, there is not much craziness, which was great since we were on a relaxing honeymoon. My husband and I are in our late 20's and there weren't too many other people our age there, which was fine. (Most likely because it was so expensive to stay there) Like I mentioned, not much entertainment and everything closed at 11 pretty much (except sports bar closed at 1). There was some activities on the beach during the day, but we never participated in those. Also like I said the pool bar was nothing crazy, but some stuff everyday. If you're looking to party hard then I suggest going to the adults only excellence next door. My husband and I had fun on our own and we're glad we picked the beloved. Since we stayed more than 7 days we got to go to excellence for one dinner. It was great but everyone seemed really loud and drunk so we were glad to have picked beloved instead just to relax. Plus we were in bed by 10 almost every night just from being in the sun/heat all day along with the day drinking. There was also what seemed like 10 times the amount of people at that resort compared to beloved. I really just liked the vibe at our resort. We got a free aquatherapy session with our stay and it was the best spa experience ever. Thank you to Regina for being an amazing guide and bringing us through the process. It was so fabulous and so relaxing. I also loved that they have the excellence app for your phone to view hours of operations, menus, clothing restrictions, info, everything! So helpful!! I absolutely loved this resort and would definitely go again if I had the money to spare but I did have 3 cons: - in our room it seemed that at night the air conditioning would slow down or something because it got warm in our room at night time (but not during the day) even though we had it at the lowest temperature and highest setting - there was always some kind of creeking or knocking or weird noises outside our room throughout the day and night. I am not sure if it was the air conditioning or the maids or the ice machine, but it was constantly waking us up (especially me as a light sleeper). - the bathroom area is open with a separate area and door for the bathroom, but it is a clear swinging door that does not seal. Now my husband and I don't care about the privacy aspect, but I always felt guilty getting up at night to go to the bathroom and flushing the toilet because it was a loud flush and it would always wake him up or vice versa. But to me those cons would not deter me from staying there again. We usually do all inclusive trips to Cuba or cheaper places in mexico that don't really cost more than $1000 CAD a person, so this really was an upgrade, but definitely worth the price for our honeymoon. Overall, it definitely lived up to it's 5 stars and I'm so happy we were able to experience this resort. …
