My wife left a wonderful review for Beloved already, but we believe that the Bocadito food truck and Guadalupe deserved his own review! Best tacos we have ever had. Guadalupe is so personable and treats you like a friend. Once he knows what you like, he will take care of you, and your belly, every time😁

Impeccable customer service. You never lacked for anything. Pillow menu was next level. The spa was probably the most exquisite I’ll ever experience in my lifetime. Guadalupe at the Bocadito made, hands down, the best tacos I have ever had in my life (and I’m from Texas). The only complaint was a misfortune we don’t fault the resort for: there was a big surge of mosquitos that came out at night and prevented us from enjoying outdoor dinners by the beach like we hoped. But the chefs sent our meal to our room so we could enjoy the food anyway. Wonderful restaurants, cool lineup of events, beautiful every, great experience with the xenotes tour, incredible rooms (balcony bed and personal rooftop pool)… definitely an exceptional experience.

This was our 4th stay in 16 months which should tell you something. We love the QUIET, RELAXED COUPLES vibe. This is NOT a party resort which is why we love it. There are plenty of those in Mexico if that is what you are looking for. From the time we get out of transportation, we are home. This time we had Carlos (Charley) greet us, take our luggage and make our drink. Marilyn checked us in. The front desk has the best people to greet you! Grecia, Christian, Brandon and Paola made us feel so welcomed with their big smiles and warm hugs. The beach concierge team and especially Claudia was always ready to set up a place for us. I love the way this process works. No chair game. The restaurant staff and waiters rotate so you never know where you will see an old friend. Guadalupe's tacos are some of the best food on property. It was always exciting to see what masterpiece he created for me each day. Ambar, Ramon, Rosalia, Christian, Jaime, Russel, Alexis and Gener were some of our favorites in the restaurants. Our favorite drink servers were Luis, Oscar, Benito, Pasquel, Alex, and Fernando (Bryan) and Christina at Caffeto had a smile for us early every morning. The room cleaners were like ninjas. In and out and did a beautiful job with lovely towel art. The pool team were always checking the pools and keeping them clean. The landscape team works so hard making everything perfect. My only complaint really was the food inconsistencies. We ate at El Mar 2 different nights. We had the exact same thing both times. The 1st time it was perfect. The second time was a disaster. There was most definitely a different chef the 2nd time. Room service, although very nice and quickly delivered was inedible both times we ordered. We love fancy dinners but this time they missed the mark for some reason. My favorite dishes: #1- Guadalupes taco platters #2 Chicken risotto La Isla #3 Surf and Turf El Mar (1st time) #4 beach snacks (nachos, quesadillas, pizza, chicken wings) #5 Stracciatella pie and cannoli at La Isla We love the staff and the vibe of this resort. It has become our favorite for rest and relaxation and spending time as a couple. We have 4 more trips booked so we will be back soon.

Our first, and not last, trip to the Beloved was part of a split trip with Excellence Playa Mujeres (EPM) next door. After a week at EPM, we were looking forward to a week of relaxation, recharging and reconnecting and the Beloved was everything, and more, that we were looking for. After over 20 trips to Excellence Resorts, we were not sure what to expect, but we were very impressed with the Beloved. This resort has the right mix of quiet, privacy and activity. Our thanks and gratitude to Guest Services Manager Christian for taking such good care of us, fulfilling our requests and ensuring that we had everything that we needed for a most memorable stay. His attention to detail, daily interactions with us and commitment to customer service made us feel like we were at 'home'. It was so nice to visit with GM Andrea Ruiz. After enjoying her excellence service at ERC and EPM, we knew we were in good hands at the Beloved. Many thanks to Front Desk Manager Grecia for checking on us, and making our transfer from EPM & our check out seamless and stress free. It was so refreshing to see that there was no 'Towel Game' and plenty of available beach chairs without having to 'save' one at 7am. We really enjoyed the service, food and beverages at all the restaurants (great Sushi) and bars; however the house red wine selection & quality is not what it used to be in the Excellence Group and needs upgrading. Thank you's and shout outs to Guadalupe who makes the best tacos and burritos anywhere, rehydration expert Luis and super server Antonio. For a smaller resort, we were blown away by the effort & details that went into the special events like the Super Bowl Party, Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras. Gracias Super Mario. The Silent Party is still so much fun. We have already booked for next year. I hope we can keep this gem of a resort a secret before it gets too popular....

Just for the record we visited in April of 2023 but I was incredibly lazy and waited way too long to write this review. thankfully I took copious notes with my notepad app. Flew United out of Newark into terminal three, we stuck to the left side through customs so we could use the e-gates. There was no line and they were fast and efficient, minus the one lady who had too much bourbon and was having trouble standing still. We were unable to fit everything we thought we needed into our carryons so we did have to wait about 30 minutes for our checked bag. Seasons transfer was included with our stay, we avoided the timeshare people by the doors(I can look really mean when I want to), went to the left outside the doors around all the cab drivers and such, and found the kiosk for seasons. We waited about ten minutes for our ride and were on our way. The ride was about 40 minutes, pleasant and uneventful, our driver pointed out some sights along the way and told us a little about the area. Upon arrival at Beloved, we received a cold towel and a drink and were shown inside to the check in area. Check in was quick and painless and margaritas from the lobby bar made it even better. Our room was not ready yet(check in is three), so we went off to get the lay of the land and have some lunch. We found El Mar, had chips and guac, fish tostadas, and a mushroom pizza, all good. Found our way to caffetto for some iced refreshment, then located the gift shop, le bisou, the lupita lounge, and the spa. We hung out at the lobby bar until right around three when we were told our room was ready. We had reserved a beachfront two story casita with plunge pool. We were shown to Consentida three and got settled in. I headed out to Bocadito for the first of MANY visits to Guadalupe. Hit the Natura bar(which I hear is closed now), for margaritas to go with my tacos. We ordered room service for dinner and lounged outside until the bugs chased us in. I am an early riser(years in the construction industry), and placed a standing order with room service the first night for daily coffee at 530 AM. It showed up without fail every day between 525 and 535. The delivery box was super convenient and we loved that feature of the room. Made my first visit to the gym and had it all to myself, one of the best I've seen at a resort. Plenty of free weights and machines in the main room, and also had separate rooms for yoga/kettle bells, TRX work, and even a boxing room which i loved. We had breakfast at El Mar, our server Ismael was great. Had a fruit plate, Mexican eggs with chorizo, and an omelette. We spent the afternoon on the beach, had shrimp tostadas and veggie pizza. The beach here is wonderful. Soft white sand, plenty of room, and the only waves seemed to be wind driven, and were quite calm. I think Playa Mujeres is blocked by Isla Mujeres, hence no breaking waves. Seaweed was minimal. With a seven night stay you're allowed one dinner over at EPM, we chose Spice. The food there was good, but didnt wow us. Had sushi and edamame, shrimp pad thai and seafood tempura, with coconut ice cream and banana in chocolate sauce for dessert. We could've stayed for the night's show, but we chose to bail and head back to beloved. Day three was interesting. I had a little trouble sleeping the first night, wasn't crazy about the pillows, ordered some different ones and that was sorted. Hit the gym a little after six, wasn't alone this time. When I got back to the room I noticed something on the floor by the mini bar, bent down to pick it up, then froze when I realized it was a scorpion. Being from New Jersey I was not at all familiar with these animals so I put it under a whiskey glass and called the concierge. They sent someone from maintenance to scoop it up and take it away and asked us to stay out of the room for a few hours so they could spray it. We spent the day at the beach and got to know Jesus the beach concierge, great guy. Took a ceviche class coupled with a mezcal tasting, it was good and educational. One of the beach servers had heard that I liked the mexican lollipop shot, so he brought me a full sized drink. Had a quesadilla and chips and guac. Grabbed some seafood ceviche for the beach palapa and hit up the taco truck again. Had dinner at La Isla, both had different Mahi dishes and both were very good. Finished the night with milkshakes from Caffetto. Day four was room service for breakfast and our Hydrotherapy was scheduled for eleven, so we just hung out on our roof until it was time to go to the spa. Hydrotherapy was definitely interesting, especially the saunas. The gentleman who walked us through the process was very helpful and gave a great scalp and neck massage at the end. Back in our room we had the only meal I was disappointed in, the room service pizza was just not good. Went down to the pool and had a great time at the pool bar, met some nice people. Just be careful on the tiles around the outside of the pool, they do get slippery. Went to Lupita steakhouse for dinner, had the salmon with vegetables and a fettuccine in a bolognese sauce. Salmon was very good. Had some sushi in the lounge and called it a night. Day five...gym then breakfast at El Mar. Service was excellent, food was good but not great. We had a 10 oclock massage booked and that was well worth it. My therapist was Linda and she was excellent. My wife was not as impressed with hers, and I did not get her name. Tried to get a chair by the main pool but there weren't any, so we went to the beach. Had drinks and lunch there and moved to the main pool when some chairs opened up. Did room service for dinner, the caeser salad and hummus were disappointing. The salmon was good and I think my wife enjoyed her pasta with mushrooms and shrimp. Grabbed dessert from Caffetto and called it a night. Day six we found the breakfast buffet at Le Bisou. Paola provided exceptional service. Food there was good with lots of options. Hung out on our roof then headed to La Isla for pizza lunch. We got a Salerno and a Calabrese, both were very good. Didn't feel like dressing for dinner so we went to check out the sports bar. Had burgers and dogs with beers while we watched our Devils lose. Had the place all to ourselves, it was pretty cool. Last day...buffet at Le Bisou followed by a set of loungers at the pool. We stayed at the pool all afternoon and for the first time, had a bit much to drink. I felt bad for the poor concierge in the lobby that had to deal with me after I locked myself out of my room fetching more tip money. Next thing I knew it was two AM and we needed to pack as we had an early flight. Checkout and our transfer back to the airport were quick and painless. No one here makes a bad margarita , I just felt Pascal at the lobby bar made them the best. Guadalupe and the taco truck are not to be missed. All the employees provided great service, were friendly and hard working but I do have to shout out a few, I wish I had taken more names. Ismael at El Mar. Paola at Le Bisou Sergio the activities guy Jesus beach concierge Linda at the spa Gilberto at the pool bar Alex, Luis, Antonio, and Alberto beach and pool service.

My wife and I recently returned from our first trip to Beloved. For the past twelve years, we have regularly stayed at the larger Excellence resort next door. Every year, we would walk past Beloved and wonder what it would be like to stay there. This year, we took the plunge and were thrilled with our stay! It must be noted that this is a couples-only resort. This is not the resort for larger groups, even if multiple couples travel together. The vibe here is more relaxed and quieter. The evening entertainment reflects this as well. We appreciate that Excellence Resorts has a hotel for a couples-only demographic! Please keep it this way! When we arrived at the hotel, Mex welcomed us like long-lost friends, bringing us in for a wonderful welcome drink. The check-in with Anhuar was fast and efficient, as he told us about the hotel's facilities. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Our swim-up suite had all of the amenities needed. Drink service around the pools and the different dining options are excellent. Although only three of the four restaurants are open on a nightly basis, we had no issue with multiple visits to some of the restaurants. If you stay for 7 nights or longer, you get one evening over at Excellence Playa Mujeres and can choose a different cuisine. Breakfast on the beach at El Mar is heavenly. While we enjoyed both El Mar and Le Bisou for breakfast, it is unfortunate that you cannot have breakfast every morning at El Mar. The views are stunning! While we found the resort lovely, the people who worked there made our experience exceptional. Every single individual we met was smiling and pleasant. We want to give a shout-out to the groundskeepers and maintenance staff who quietly work in the background to keep the resort looking pristine. Exceptional people: Mex and Anhuar (check-in); Andrea, Christian, Grecia (management); Guadalupe (amazing taco truck!); Sebastian, Denisse, Claudia, Aitana, and Benedicto (Beach concierge) - awesome!; Trejo, Russell, Christian, Brenda (servers); Fernando (Beach Service extraordinaire); Benito and Alex (Lupita Lounge); Adilia (pool service); Cristina and Jafet (Caffeto). ALL of these people were amazing!! We will be back to Beloved because of these exceptional people.

We spent Mar 30-April 6 at Beloved, this was our 7th trip with Excellence (5th at Beloved) Seasons included transfer was easy and smooth process, welcome cocktails from Mex were a nice touch upon arrival. Check in was quick and easy. Grecia remembered us from previous visit went over and above to make us feel welcome and special. Our Room was as beautiful and spotless as we remembered from last year, house keeping and turndown left us some little towel friends to make us smile and the mini bar was topped up daily with out favorite items. Christian was always available to check in for a chat answer questions or to help with anything. Marco was informative and helpful as he walked us through Hydrotherapy followed by awesome head neck and shoulder massage. Griselda provided a soothing Aloe body treatment at the spa followed by a relaxing massage recommend 10/10 Food and service was excellent with once exception (I wont get into as it was a one off out of seven days and nights of dining and we mentioned while on site) Special mention to Alex in Lupita Lounge who always had a smile and maybe a little dance move :) while delivering drinks. There was always a spot to rest whether on the beach or pool side no matter what time we arrived its great that the towel game is not encouraged a nice change from some resorts where you need to be up before daylight to get a spot. Luis treated us to amazing service laughs and good conversation on our Cabana Days Claudia, Denise and Sebastian always welcomed us with a smile and offer of assistance everyday on the beach concierge. Shout out to Omar at the Steakhouse, it was his second or third day and we had a great meal with great service, Elias for many memorable lunches above the main pool and Amber for her personal touch at the Steak house We were sad to leave and cant wait to return again next year where we really are treated like family with personalized service and special touches

We stayed at The Beloved Hotel for 5 nights in early March. For background, we are Excellence fans, and this was our 23rd trip to an Excellence resort. We met Freddy as we arrived at the resort. He is a wonderful person to greet people and he made us a special drink. We also met Marilyn who managed our check-in. She is very personable and informative. The grounds here are beautiful and well kept. There are people caring for the grounds all the time. We liked the quiet vibe we experienced when walking the grounds and the quiet music. We stayed in a Beachfront Casita Suite with Plunge Pool – Hermosa 4. I would say this is the least private of the 4 rooms in this category. We had been in Consentida 3 previously and loved that room. This room was very nice, and they had left some lovely towel art. We noticed a problem with the X-box on arrival, that it did not lock, both the outside and inside doors. We called maintenance and very quickly Erick came and fixed the issue. We ran into a couple issues with our room. The first was that I had requested a bottle of Bailys for the room prior to arrival in an email to Christian. I received a response from him that he would add it to the minibar set up for us. When we arrived, it was not in the room, so we went up to the concierge and asked about it. He said he’d have to check with Christian. The next day I went back again and this time he told me I’d have to pay for it. I am confused why Christian emailed that it would be included in our minibar restock and then said we’d have to pay for it. I did not speak with Christian himself; he was not available when we were inquiring and did not meet him during our visit. Second issue, I love the view from the beachfront casita, but we ran into an issue that we had not experienced in the past. The people in the casita with a private pool below us chose to invite friends over for a little party. They were very loud and as the drinks flowed, they got even louder. The waiters continued to serve them all at the private pool. At one point someone must have made a complaint because a staff member came over to speak with them. They quieted down for about 15 minutes then it started up again. It made our last two afternoons less relaxing as we could not use our balcony or terrace without a good deal of noise. It was disappointing because Beloved is usually the quiet, relaxing option for Excellence Resorts. Housekeeping was wonderful. They came every day and not only cleaned, but left some of the nicest towel art we have ever received. The fridge was stocked every day and if we needed anything, we just left a note and it was there when we came back. The beach was very nice, and we never ran into problems getting a spot each day. Sebastian was a great beach concierge. I felt bad for him one day because he was the only concierge for the entire beach. They are clearly short-staffed, but he did a great job. Drink service at the beach was wonderful. My thanks to Benito for always keeping my Yeti full! Food was hit or miss. Our favorites were the Sushi at Lupita and Guadalupe’s Taco Truck. They never disappointed. Breakfast at El Mar was very good, and I enjoyed the view, but we did have a very aggressive iguana that was very distracting. We had a wonderful dinner at Le Bisou one night and a couple of nights later, we had a just ok dinner there. I must complement the hostess, Katrina, there. She was so nice and engaging with all the guests. We wanted to have dinner at El Mar, but the wait was over an hour on our last night, so we decided to go elsewhere. Our room service anniversary breakfast was wonderful. It arrived right on time and was delicious. The bars were all good and we enjoyed being served by the bartender Pasqual at both the La Isla bar and the lobby bar. We enjoyed the entertainment at the Lupita Lounge. I love the intimate feeling of the lounge and the more laid-back entertainment. My favorites were Claudia Trevino Trio and both saxophone players. A special thank you to Oscar who is a waiter at Lupita Lounge. He made sure our drinks were never empty and served them with a smile. We enjoyed meeting him. We did the Tequila Experience with Aline. It was very interesting and informative. I would recommend it if you are interested in finding out a lot about the different tequilas and mescals as well as pairing them with different fruits, crackers, and cheeses. Last but definitely not least, the Mile Spa. I highly recommend the spa experience. We had a relaxing hydrotherapy experience with Regina and an excellent massage experience with Martha & Alice. They were top notch massage therapists and made our experience so relaxing. We would recommend the spa to everyone. It was a wonderful afternoon. Overall, we had a nice, relaxing vacation at Beloved with a few glitches. When we were leaving, we were heading over to EPM and Freddy graciously drove us over in the new golf cart. A fun way to end our time at Beloved.
