A great location and a wonderful staff made for a great 3 night stay for us. The restaurant is terrific in every way – the food, the service and the views. The wine tour/tasting was the best of the ten or so I have been on in my life. Our guide, Andrea was knowledgeable and fun, and spoke perfect English. Our room was spacious and had great views. I loved my morning bike rides through the vineyard, with the benefit of all you can eat grapes right off the vine. It’s really an amazing place. The guests were from all over the world. Most were on short stays. That makes sense because the wonderful isolation of the place would become a bad thing after a while. For example, in my one experience in a similar place – Entre Cielos near Mendoza, Argentina – you had the option of going to Mendoza for dinner or doing some of the adventurous activities offering around Mendoza. For better or worse (mostly better), Vik was a long way from everything else. They are addressing a couple of minor flaws. They are putting in a bar (which oddly they don’t have yet). And it seems they are adding a pavilion in their great garden so maybe they can do an occasional lunch over there. So why only 4 stars? It’s very expensive. It’s supposed to be this good. …

This is a beautiful, (but remote!) property. It's a luxury experience in the midst of a huge vineyard and winery. Everyone is positive and helpful. I got the impression most of the guests here are escaping Santiago. The guests appeared to us to be young and upscale hip, (or chic?). The staff atmosphere was friendly but a little more on the formal side. Not as touchy-feely as other places we stayed on our trip, (i.e. Awasi or Tiera Chiloe). The food and wine were excellent to say the least and the staff in the dining room was personable and friendly with a great attitude. We were well taken care of. We didn't arrive until around midnight and were welcomed by Kenny. He was absolutely great. Obviously one of the unsung heros of the hotel as he works the overnight shift. None the less, we did manage to take advantage of his hospitality and deserves a big pat on the back! We also enjoyed the winery tour which was well done by Camila.…

We stayed here 2 nights as part of our larger organized trip. We had heard a lot of hype about this place and it was definitely unique. Looks like a space ship in the hills. All of the suites are unique and themed. We stayed in "La Patricia" which was beautiful, colourful and spacious. We saw some of the other rooms where our travel companions stayed, and they were equally unique! We ate in the restaurant on site, as well as the other restaurant at the winery. The food in both, was incredible. Well presented, unique and so flavourful. A lot o love and care went in to all of our meals. And the service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, smiling and engaging. They couldn't do enough for you!! The lobby is stunning, with incredible furniture and unique designs. The view from all vantage points was breathtaking. The infinity pool is beautiful, however, its so dark & black, no one wanted to go in! Not very appealing. Should have put in blue tiles to brighten it up. While we went on a great horseback riding trip and wine tour, there is nothing much to do there. So if you want a quiet and tranquil time, this is the place. Around 2 hours outside of Santiago, but definitely worth the trip!…

My wife and I had an amazing stay at your brilliant hotel. The setting was beautiful, especially the pool area, we rode horses and mountain bikes, toured the wine facilities and had a fabulous time during our entire stay. Your staff was pleasant, professional and delivered exceptional customer service. Specifically, we very much enjoyed Sebastian, your food, beverage and restaurant manager who not only delivered incredible customer service but went well above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience. We also loved Connie, a server in your beautiful restaurant, who was smart, charming and very knowledgeable. It's very clear that Sebastian not only delivers an exceptional customer experience but also trains his staff to do the same. We will definitely return to your amazing property. Thank you, Deb and Scott Biddinger…

Stayed here after wonderful stays in Patagonia and Atacama. One of our party is vegetarian. The hotel, unlike others on our stay, provided lack luster food and acted as though they had no idea we had requested vegetarian meals months before and upon arrival. The vegetarian options were sad: like a sliced cabbage on a plate. We did speak with the restaurant manager but nothing improved. We spoke with the management and no one really seemed that interested in accommodating. The garden tour was unimpressive and we were dropped off with no information as to when we’d be picked up so we sat for a while waiting for a ride back to the hotel. We ordered wine on the tour, but there was no follow up on this so we never received it (we were not charged so we just bagged it). On the whole, the hotel is in a beautiful spot and the vineyards are lovely, but the attention to detail is totally unimpressive. For that reason, I would not return.…

Amazing architecture. All the physical things are beautifully designed and super quality. Our room Azulejo was amazing with a wonderful view. The food is reliably first class. We eagerly looked forward to dining every day and were never disappointed. Shining above everything however is the quality of service. Without exception the staff are fantastic. Knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly and engaging. Possibly our best ever hotel experience.

My husband and I were beyond pleased with our night at the Vik Chile. We are arrived earlier than check in and had a great lunch and one of their cocktails from their list at the pool overlooking the stunning valley. I left a number of items at home and the team there was quick to help supply me with what I needed (thank you Virginia) We found the service to be excellent while there. Admittedly they were difficult to reach beforehand but I’m glad I had trust in the process - they took care of us for our entire stay. The wine tour is unlike any other faculty we have seen and the wine delicious. Claudio’s tour was knowledgeable and enjoyable. At dinner, we truly enjoyed the rose and our meal. While I read another review about the food, I’ve included photos- the starter bites were small and so delicious you wanted a tray of them, 3 more courses arrived, all equally delicious. We were full when we left. We had one of the bungalows. It was perfect in every way. The bedding, living space, bath area, patio and views. Wow. We didn’t want to leave. The gym is quite functional with weights, mats, one tread a bike, an elliptical and one gorgeous view. We plan to absolutely return.…

The location, view, property, and rooms are really stunning. The experience overall was somewhat less impressive. The power went out several times and we had only a limited selection of items for lunch as a result. The spa experience was very disappointing. The staff were friendly and professional with excellent proficiency in English but not overly inquisitive as to needs. We got our night here as an extra in a bigger package; I would’ve been pretty disappointed if we had paid the going rate (around $2,000 per night on the day we stayed).

Our stay at VIK was a great one, with a few hiccups. They arranged for round trip transportation from the Santiago airport, which made our lives so much easier. It’s a hike - 2hrs from the airport - but well worth it! The driver met us as soon as we got out of baggage claim. The villa was stunning. We stayed at the “Shape of Women” villa (Puro VIK Experience). I was very skeptical to stay on the villa they assigned us, as I had looked on the website and that villa seemed to have a lot of trees blocking the view of the lake below. However, rest assured they have cleared most of the overgrowth from trees and shrubs, the view from this villa is indeed breathtaking. I assume they have done the same to the other villas that on the website show the view as obstructed by trees. There are no TVs in the villas, you have to request one ahead of time if you want it. The villa is huge. All villas have a different theme, but similar layout. The bed is large and comfy. The AC/Heating system worked flawlessly. We had to use both head and AC during our stay: 40s in the evening, 80s during the day! We did have constant issues with the hot water, I was unable to take a bath on the tub on the balcony, which was a bummer, as the hot water would always run out halfway through filling it. Technicians were constantly coming and going to “fix” the hot water issue. The food was very good, however the portions were small. The first night we were actually a bit hungry after dinner. I asked if we could have a little more of the main dish (which was SMALL), and they said we could order a burger from the a la carte (paid) menu if we were still hungry (we were on the “all inclusive” program, the burger offer should not come with a price). But, the food was always very tasty and the presentation excellent. All paired with VIK wines. The Rose, the “A”, Milla Calla and La Piu Belle. The only wine that is not included is their top wine: VIK. All servers were very nice, but a bit lacking in their knowledge of what they were serving, whether it was food or drinks. We did taste the VIK wine during the tour of the vineyard, which was a very cool tour. Their wine making facility is impressive. The architecture is unreal, and we learned a lot about their production and about the wine industry in general. Finished with a tasting of all their wines. The VIK is expensive and tasty, but a bit grape-y in my opinion. My favorites were Mia Calla and La Piu Belle. They were very generous at lunch and dinner with the wine pours, we were able to have as much wine as we wanted, and even took a glass for a nightcap in our villa every evening. I did have a hard time coordinating logistics with the hotel prior to arrival. We were finally able to arrange the transportation, and I wanted to make requests for lunch/dinner arrangements prior to our arrival, and they at first seemed unwilling to accommodate our requests. We are still very cautious with the pandemic, avoiding indoor dining. I asked if they could arrange a table for us outside for lunch and dinner every day, and they said dinner is only served indoors - even though they have a lot of tables outside, and the weather was perfect for al fresco dining. When we arrived, we were finally able to convince the restaurant manager to allow us to have dinner outside, but the fact that prior to our trip they told us “no”, made us feel anxious until our arrival and discussion with the restaurant manager. Why not just tell us they would accommodate us when I first contacted them? It would have made our trip a lot more enjoyable knowing they were open to adapting to our requests. Another issue we had was the arrival of a large group of Brazilians on our second day. I am from Brazil but live in the US. I know “my countrymen” very well. Fun and loving people. BUT… this was a group of 24 adults in the age group of mid-30s, all couples, and very loud, if not obnoxious. They took over the pool, blasting their speaker. The whole place went from zen to hell in a matter of hours. The couple that had been laying next to us by the pool finally complained to the manager - the manager eventually came down, apologized to the couple, and said they would talk to the large group. She did talk to them… but said “there have been complaints (and discretely pointed to the couple that complained, showing the large who made the complaint!), can you please turn the music off?” — it was very unprofessional. I understand the need for a manager to try to please all guests of the hotel, but to tell the large group who complained was just inappropriate. Then, the Brazilians got a WhatsApp message from the manager - the message was in English, but they read it out loud in Portuguese thinking no one would understand - well I heard it all :-D — it said something like “we apologize that other guests gave you trouble, please know we love you and you can do whatever you want here, we will handle the complainers”. The group started hollering and pouring more wine. I felt like I was transported to Cancun’s spring break. The following day, as we were getting ready for breakfast, there was a drone flying in front of our villa and the other villas. It coincided with the arrival of the Brazilians the previous day. The manager told us they would try to find who was flying it, but nothing really was done about it. Management apologized however. All in all a very good experience - a very beautiful place with amazing wine and beautiful villas. In my opinion our 3 days/2 nights at VIK were more than enough to experience the hotel and its facilities/available (but limited) activities before potentially getting bored. We spent 12 days in Chile, stayed in 4 different hotels during our trip, including in the towns/areas of Puerto Varas, Patagonia/Torres del Paine and Santiago, and we can confidently say that VIK is a beautiful and stunning property, but far from “the most luxurious hotel in Chile” title they claim to have. They have some work to do on pre-arrival communication with guests, especially reassuring guests that they will make arrangements to make their visit as comfortable as possible, work crowd control within their facilities when groups are present, and maybe a bit more training for their staff in the area of hospitality - service was good and everyone was extremely nice, but it just was not very polished for the type of high-end property they are aiming to be.…

We got engaged here - the staff was awesome and help make all the arrangements so I could surprise my fiancee. The food was excellent and the wine amazing. We toured the grounds, winery, and hiked across the property. We enjoyed stargazing with a local astronomer and swimming in the pool with a beautiful view. The Shogun room was perfect.
