I am a huge fan of the Vik hotels, and had been looking forward to staying at Vik Chile. I'm not sure if we caught them on a completely off week, but I was shocked at the low level of service. On the bright side - the property is stunning, the rooms were cleaned regularly 2x a day, and the food, when it arrived, was delicious. However, it was very unclear throughout our experience who was actually running the hotel. It would take 45 minutes for a drink to arrive, and it was a bit weird to order this through a whatsapp vs. a bartender. Additionally, we called ahead to let the hotel know someone in our party had food allergies; we were repeatedly served food that had the allergens (even after reminding the waitstaff at the beginning of every meal). We did not have this issue anywhere else in Chile, and it made the whole experience stressful. Would not recommend this property to anyone with food restrictions. After complaining to the front desk the third (!) time we were served the wrong food, we did meet the manager, and they comped our lunch the last day. I'm surprised we did not meet anyone earlier (generally in Vik properties, a manager would be on site at all points). I'm hoping the hotel figures this out because it is a very beautiful corner of th eworld - but would ask detailed questions about staffing before booking for anyone on the fence about the price (which is high!)

We decided to stay here for 2 nights before we started our 10 day tour around Chile. We were flying in from the US and knew that we would need a day to recover from the flights before the rest of our travels here in Chile They had some activities but that was not our focus. We had the all inclusive package. The rooms are eclectic. Each one is different. Bathrooms are huge. We were in the RETRO room with fantastic views. For activities, we did the wine tour with Varpu (she is outstanding). We did the self walk/hike - La Cruz. It took us about 2 hours with many picture stops. For an additional charge we did a Mixology Class with Sebastian. WOW!!!! not only was it informative, it was so much fun. Sebastian (Service Manager at the VIK) has a very interesting background with the Ritz Carlton and is a true Mixologist in every sense of the word. Not only that his team is amazing. Food is very good. Beautiful presentations. The desserts are incredible. With lunch and dinner wine was offered. They only serve their wine which we enjoyed. Service is A+. Rooms are spotless and serviced 2X a day. Restaurant staff is always pleasant and friendly. Special shout out to Valerian and Daniella. They set us up on arrival with What’s App so any questions or needs are communicated efficiently in this manner. There is also a Pillow Menu for the room which is a very nice touch.

My husband and I stayed at Vik for 3 nights and enjoyed our very relaxing stay. We typically take advantage of all the activities on offer since we paid an all inclusive rate. However, due to the extreme heat during our stay we passed on the biking, horseback riding, etc. We actually were not impressed w/ the activities on offer once we got there. But maybe it was the heat that deterred us. The winery however was amazing. We were fortunately upgraded to the "H" (Hermes) Master Suite which was a corner room w/ wall to wall windows. Their rooms are definitely very interesting. It is not your traditional vineyard hotel. The breakfast was yummy. Your table is given a bread basket, cheese, meat & fruit plate and a hot item. The 3-course lunches was the same menu for the 2 times we had lunch. And the 3-course dinners you were given 2 options. Of all the meals breakfast was what I enjoyed the most. Vik has 3 levels, 1st Floor is the Spa which I recommend. 2nd Floor was the gym and outdoor infinity pool (not heated) and game room w/ ping pong table. 3rd Floor is the main floor w/ all the rooms, dining & lounging area. There is an elevator in case stairs is a problem. All-in-all it was nice but probably would not return.

We tried to make a reservation calling the phone numbers on their web Site, they were busy or had their phone switched off so we sent a whatsapp. Later someone replied and we were given other numbers (receptor) to contact and finally an email. Upon calling the Second indícated number the female that attended the Call was chatting and laughing with someone else - after saying Hello 3 times she responded - si cuéntame, que necesita (yes, tell me - what do you need). When enquiring if it was possible to make a reservation for the restaurant, I was told to send an email and that someone would respond there, the lady said bye and hung up. I am sure there are trainings in the hospitality Industry that teach staff how to answer the phone. Does VIK Chile really want customers to visit with this kind of customer service - do I really want to make a reservation now after this experience???

Dear Pressburg I am sorry to hear about your experience, however the number you called has nothing to do with the hotel, since, as indicated in the auto response, the number is for booking wine tours. The wine tour guides are at the winery where the reception is very poor and sometimes calls do not go through very clear. Also they are often conducting the tours and are unable to answer the phone, so, having said this I will make sure to erase this number from the list of options. Rest assured our Hotel Staff is well trained in answering properly. Hoping to welcome you soon at Vik Chile, Best Regards

There is a lot to love about the Vik. The expansive property, setting and architecture are stunning. Our bungalow, Chihuly, was extremely comfortable and private, with views of the lagoon and vineyard and a marvelous soaking tub on the terrace. Wonderful, responsive staff. Very helpful recommending trails around the property. Don’t miss the lovely tasting at the winery. Where the Vik suffers is its restaurant. The view from Milla Milla is spectacular. Sadly the food is not. While presented beautifully, our lunches and dinners over the course of three nights were not prepared well (pork, tenderloin, steak were overcooked), lacked flavor/tasted bland, and were repetitive (crab croquettes appeared on the menu three days in a row). Breakfasts, on the other hand, were solid. I do not like giving negative reviews and thought long and hard before posting this. Perhaps the chef was on vacation during our stay. At least I hope that was the case. Either way it fell far short of the high standard set by our lodging experience.

We had booked a two night stay with them through our travel agent for New Years. We signed terms and conditions regarding their cancellation policy, but the travel agent assured us they had a good relationship with all the hotels we would be staying at, and it was their understanding that they would be flexible if anything happened due to covid. No insurance policy covers covid, so we felt comfortable with this assurance as we have traveled internationally at least half a dozen times during the pandemic and all the hotels we've stayed at have been flexible and wonderful. No one would be traveling during the pandemic if there was no room for flexibility. Cut to two weeks ago when I tested positive for covid due to the massive omicron surge in the US. I immediately told the travel agent so we could work on rebooking the trip, as the results were cutting it very close to our departure. Very disappointing, but we simply wanted to move the trip to February when we would be cleared to travel- not cancel it. The other three hotels we were staying at during our trip were extremely helpful and glad to work with us/ rebook our dates while still honoring the same rates we booked for. This hotel was the only hotel who refused to work with us (not even a little!) and offered zero flexibility. We said we would be happy to pay a fee to change but no, they didn't want to offer any help. They claimed this was too last minute (as it obviously would be with covid) and they would be losing business, but I checked the hotel capacity on a booking website and they had plenty of rooms still available, so it's not like us rescheduling was causing them a loss. Two nights for 3 people- $6,500 down the drain. It's sort of unbelievable. Not to mention these rates were a third of the price in February, so they’d be making out well here regardless. Most hotels are extremely gracious that you're trying to give them business during covid, and don't want to see people suffer loses if they are unable to travel for legitimate and uncontrollable reasons. But these people at The Vik won't even give us a partial refund. I don't know about you, but I can’t fathom how anyone would give them business when this is how they treat their customers during a pandemic. Covid has made things unpredictable, and the situation changes on a weekly basis. Omicron certainly did not exist when we booked this trip in September and everyone thought the pandemic was almost over. Please stay away from them and consider giving your business to other, more worthy and customer centric hotels.

Very poor customer service with no attempts to improve. Had a reservation to stay in January and have tried endlessly to move the date due to recent covid restrictions. Not only has the hotel not been the least bit accommodating, but they are not even remotely sympathetic to the travel conditions due to omicron. Both Vira Vira and The Singular hotels kindly helped move our dates, but Vik did not. I would highly recommend stay elsewhere if you are looking for top notch service.

Hotel is an architectural masterpiece with amazing views and incredible sunsets (can sit at the restaurant and enjoy them!). The staff were so kind and accommodating, they consistently went above and beyond to make our experience truly memorable. Our room was the Vik master suite, and it was lovely with clean design and remarkable views (can see sunrises and sunsets while lying in bed). Don’t forget to use the very cool carbon fiber hammock tub…truly unique piece. The only thing missing from this hotel is a bar area so guests can socialize and better get to know one another. They do have cocktails, but you have to ask for it and we enjoyed quite a few that were based on the Vik wine - Rose Sour and Espresso Martinis were awesome. On the activities front, we did the winery tour, horseback riding and the mixology class with Sebastian (restaurant manager). Our time with Sebastian was easily our favorite activity of the entire stay. He was incredibly knowledgeable about many different cocktails, and was able to share that knowledge with us in a fun way. We had great conversations about his background and why he is so passionate about what he does (and how he made the recipe for the Pisco Deluxe at the Ritz, which was our very first Pisco Sour upon landing in Santiago!). Sebastian even made us a custom cocktail based on our tastes that was truly exceptional. Also, a shout out to Finny (reception) who was so helpful and always had an amazing attitude no matter what time of day. Truly one of the best hotels we’ve been to, we can’t wait to try the new one in Milan and the ones in Uruguay!

I stayed for 5 days and wish I stayed for a year. My friends and I (late 20s) were in awe throughout our stay at Vik Chile. Tucked in the middle of beautiful green valleys, the property has something for everyone. The architecture, interior design, and art was one of a kind. We took hikes, rode horses, played paintball, and laid by the pool. All of the food is sourced locally -- one night we got a tour of the Vik garden and even had the chance to make our own meal under the stars amidst the vineyard. I can't express enough how special this experience was!

If you’re seeking a high-end, design forward wine country stay in Chile for a 2-3 nights stay within a reasonable drive from Santiago, Vik Chile/Puro Vik (name distinction for the 7 glass houses) is worth considering. Vik Chile is as much a museum as hotel, the pool’s great, food is sound, and the wine is amazing. Many of the rooms and the design overall isn’t for traditionalists. I loved both their white and red, but if you like more a range of wines that’s a challenge as they don’t offer much beyond their own few wines (although I’ve heard that’s changing). If you’re looking for more of an active place they do offer excursions, however the hiking and horseback riding after doing so in Patagonia for us was underwhelming even with managed expectations. Based on this a B&B rate stay rather than all inclusive may prove to be the better value for many. Room tips: For main room category request main level as opposed to lower level. Same price, better access and views. For normal suites I prefer Chile or Abelli. Norge is more neutral in decor and solid views If wanting a master suite (corner room so 2 walls of windows) I do not suggest the Hermes (view of pool reduces privacy) or the Shogun (not great views and very particular taste). Best option is Gablers Grisaille. The Lodge is a great option for a larger multi-generational group. Ins and Outs: Yoga and paintball are fun extra activities on offer, but if of interest request in advance to your stay to ensure your ability to do. Pro’s Glass houses really romantic which was great for ten year anniversary Coolest bathroom and tub imaginable! Incredible design perfect for my art loving wife Feels like being part of a living museum Best pool I’ve ever experienced in Chile Incredible wine Very solid wine tour of their winery Amazing spa Con’s Service was fun and kind, although not as polished as some would look for in 5 star As opposed to say Aplata Residence, it’s not easy or included to visit any neighboring wineries A bit more driving then Colchagua area which shortens 2N stays, so works best at end of trip where you fly out at night so you get more of a full day on departure day The ‘Master Suites’ don’t always have a significantly better view and one loses some privacy from pool goers. If wanting higher category room I personally prefer the Puro Vik glass houses. Ultimately a really unique property great for modern design lovers. Traditionalists looking for smaller property might prefer Apalta Residence at Lapostolle.
