Stayed for 5 nights in August to attend a wedding in the hotel. Fairly new hotel but built to a bit of a gothic theme – it’s different! The staff are all lovely, helpful and efficient. Our room was large with a king size double and also a large single and very effective air conditioning. We ate in the hotel a couple of evenings and the food was very good. Prices were extremely reasonable compared to UK. The grounds are well maintained and it was very pleasant to sit on the terrace with a coffee, chatting in the sunshine.
Unfortunately we had a number of issues with our stay.
Although we saw housekeeping in the corridors they only visited our room once.
We returned one evening at about 2315hrs only to find the hotel locked up and no way to get in. Banging on the door did not attract any attention but one of our party eventually found the hotel telephone number and after a wait of approx. 10mins someone appeared and let us in. We asked about getting a drink at the bar or a coffee and were told we had to go to bed.
There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms and no vending machines or self service facilities in the hotel. Once the bar closes there is nowhere one can get a drink of any kind until the following day at breakfast. I note that management replied to a previous comment on this matter saying that you can always get a drink – this is not so.
There are two coffee machines on the breakfast buffet but during our stay they both went out of service. The waiting staff were then not able to keep up with the demand for hot drinks during breakfast service although they tried very hard.
On the day of the wedding it was sunny and 29c - the champagne toast was poured and glasses arranged on the reception desk before 1400hrs. The wedding ceremony was in a nearby town and not due to start until 1600hrs so by the time we were handed our drinks at approx. 1730hrs it was warm and flat. Salads had also been sat on the tables for a similar time.
The food for the wedding was outstanding and the waiting staff worked long hours remaining enthusiastic and helpful until the very end. Without exception they all worked really hard and certainly earned their wages.
On Sunday there was another wedding and it soon became apparent that the hotel had no provision to deal with hotel guests plus a separate wedding party. The hotel guests were not permitted to use the terrace, bar facilities or main entrance once the wedding started. This meant you were trapped within the hotel with no means of exit. We were directed to the balconies on the first floor however it was raining heavily and there was no shelter on these balconies.
We had a very enjoyable visit and would certainly return if some of these issues could be resolved. They are not major issues and would take little action to resolve such as an outside door which guests can access at any time, either facilities in the rooms or vending machines to enable guests to get drinks.

The hotel offers everything as they promise. Unusual atmosphere shall be a landmark for the hotel - one may like it or not, but definitelly it is distinctive (and I like it).
I liked very comfortable and cozy room. Good quality and reach breakfast and very good restaurant. Positive thing is that the hotel offers English speaking service and menus. Definitelly, I may recommend it!

It’s a strange place - decor in public areas is a bit like a cross between a medieval castle and a ghost train. They specialise in large functions. When we stayed there was a wedding on and it dominated the entire place since the function area is a large atrium in the centre of the building. They warned us about it, but it was still very loud. Our room was small, felt run down and lacked a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. It is OK for breaking a journey. There is nothing in the immediate area so you will need to eat here if you don’t want to drive. Food was fine, as was the breakfast. For the price we paid it was OK.

Hotel is nicely decorated, with spacious rooms, and fantastic breakfasts. And yes, you need to try the breakfast, as the variety of choices and food quality are really impressive, given the hotel is not a part of any chain. Hotel surroundings are also well looked after, well designed and well maintained.
The room was very spacious and well equipped, although aircon is something to be considered by the management, especially for rooms with small windows. The location is just off the main road, but it's rather tricky to find the little junction, especially when it's dark.
To me the real issue was the staff, sadly. Promises made while booking about the wedding noise downstairs not being an issue, did not materialise. Since our room was on the first floor - due to open balcony above the restaurant, the wedding noise was unbearable throughout the whole night, with loud music and rowdy drunken guests banging on our door. It's worth mentioning, the reception staff was mostly unavailable for complaints.
All in all, it's a nice hotel, with medieval touch and original flavour. The staff however instead of nodding and smiling, should manage the customer expectations better and never promise things they can't deliver.

This hotel was venue for a family wedding. It has a long waiting list for weddings and I can understand why. Stayed in the hotel for two nights. Had twin room which was both clean and comfortable. The staff are most friendly and helpful. The bar prices are most reasonable as are the prices in the Restaurant. The food is excellent. For the wedding we had a three course 'wedding breakfast'. Then, as is Polish tradition, we had four further meals served through the evening accompanied by a buffet for those getting hungry between meals. The standard of food and service was of a high standard throughout. If I was ever to find myself in the area again I would have no hesitation in staying here again. Be advised there is no lift.

+Hotel from the outside makes impression. It's huge, looks like a castle, has perfect symetric plants in the garden and it is beautiful.
+Rooms are spacious, contain TV, small wardrobe, hairdryer.
+Food was great for me, although my husband didn't like dinner.
-No lift, no air conditioning.
-Hotel next to the main road, no shops nearby, just a shady gas station opposite. You have to run across highly busy road, and pray for not being hit by a truck. That's of course only if you want to buy something to drink/eat after 10 pm.
-My main plea: I think it's unacceptable to make reservations when there's a wedding happening in the hotel.
I booked Kasztel to enjoy quiet, peaceful enviroment. Receptionist called me a month and a half before my stay to inform they have a wedding the night I'm staying, but assured the room I'll get is on 2nd floor, very quiet and I will not hear a sound. I agreed of course, the wedding was not supposed to be heard.
Well, it's 1 am and the noise is so horrible, I can't sleep. It's been so loud since 4 pm. And it's not a bit of music. I'm watching a movie with headphones on and I don't understand half of it because of the noise from outside. Rate the noise yourself :) Apparently Kasztel has weddings every Saturday, so beware.
-Beds. Asked for standard double bed, got 2 singles.(Most of the rooms have 2 singles put together apparently). If you sleep with your partner on 2 different sides of bed, you won't mind. But if you like to cuddle or sleep close to each other, you will have a 30 cm wide hole between each mattress. So it's either of you sleeping in a hole or you sleep 1 meter apart :) Your choice.
-Decoration of the hotel. Kitch. Some may like it, some not, for me it was terrible and overwhelming. Drawings, sculptures, chairs. It seemed like architect wanted to make something special, but mixed few different centuries and you feel like lost in the space,
-I love Two Steps from Hell, I'm a true fan. But not at 7 am during my breakfast.
Maybe I didn't feel the spirit, Maybe it was supposed to make us feel epic like in a real castle or Warcraft movie. It didn't.
Summary/TLDR:
I was really torn apart between 2 or 3 stars. But 2 would be unfair. I'm giving 3 because hotel and room was really clean, and staff was always helpful, no pleas here.

Response from Marta C, Kierownik at Hotel Kasztel
Responded Jun 23, 2016
Dear Madam, we are grateful that you decided to choose Kasztel Hotel***. Thank you for leaving a positive comment concerning our garden, cleanness, equipment and the comfort of our rooms. We are pleased to hear that our cuisine and hotel staff managed to meet your expectations. We also appreciate your remark about the air-conditioning. We've been installing the new air conditioners since yesterday. The restaurant is open till 10 p.m. However, our staff can serve drinks after 10 p.m on our guests' request. There's no need to buy any refreshments at the petrol station, especially on Saturdays when our waiters are at work all night long. Unfortunately, there isn't a lift in our hotel, but we always help our guests carry their luggage to their rooms. At the disposal of our disabled guests' there is a special stair climber. As far as wedding receptions are concerned, we always inform our guests per e-mail or by phone that they are going to take place during their stay. We also inform them that we can't guarantee 'peace and quite' on such days. If it's possible, we offer the rooms on the highest/ second floor on the other side of our hotel. They are located the farthest from the ballroom. Our guests often tell us that they didn't hear any noise coming from the reception. I can't tell you now which room you received. It's possible that all 'silent' rooms had already been occupied and it resulted in your discomfort. It's a pity that you didn't like the decor of our hotel or the music played during breakfasts. However it's a matter of sense and, as you know, there's no accounting for taste. You are welcome to visit our place again. Yours faithfully, Kasztel Hotel Management***

I spent one night here with my family. I was here for a wedding reception. Very clean, very pleasant staff. This hotel looks like a medieval castle (a bit Halloween décor). The room was nice and clean, specious bathroom and comfortable bed & pillows. Delicious breakfast!

Very difficult to locate, the GPS directions are not accurate and the staff were telling us this happens a lot. This modern, spacious and spotlessly clean hotel is decorated like a castle (as the name implies). There is a huge dining room set out like a medieval banquet hall, an enormous tree takes pride of place. The staff are very friendly and the food is terrific. Beware there is no elevator but the hotel is only 2 storeys high so no big problem. The only down side was the entertainment area in the below ground area, lots of noise coming from there.
