Very warm welcome, beautiful setting and spacious well equipped rooms, which included a wet room bathroom and good internet connection. Excellent breakfast to set us on our way, although possibly a little early for some. Glad to say we are going back again soon!

We have used the George and Dragon on many occasions; as a pub and for B&B and have always been impressed whether it's for lunch, dinner or breakfast. The service and quality of food is always of the highest standard. We are booked in for our next B&B and know we will be looked after. The typical price is £85... More

We have often visited The George and Dragon as a couple, and with family, but last night was the first time we had gone with a group of friends. The atmosphere is good, and the service friendly. I had the most enormous lamb shank (though I think the menu said shoulder) with new potatoes and veg which was delicious. The... More

Have known the place for thirty odd years. Not regulars but always given a friendly welcome. We always look forward to Paula's menu and enjoy Lionel's beers. Everyone we take there enjoys it. On this occasion it was a group of six. An average meal price is @ £15.

We've been here several times but this time service was appalling and we were not made to feel welcome at all "even though local" we were told to move from the table that stayed unoccupied whilst we were there and we will not recommend this place to anyone ever

Lovely period pub with great open fires, but although quite a few beers on, none to my liking (my problem rather than theirs). The food was disappointing. We had the fish which was dry and chewy as if it had been cooked earlier waiting for a customer. The speed with which it was dispensed confirmed this. We were with a... More

Long overdue, but amazing steak, chips and alcohol selection! Had a great Christmas lunch here with colleagues in December 2014. Would 100% recommend and will be coming back in the foreseeable future.

The landlord seems to be a man of few words especially when talking to strangers. When ordering drinks and food didn't get anything more out of him than 'ok','ok' although to be fair he was a bit friendlier when we paid the bill and left. The beer was fine as were the sandwiches .I liked the mish mash of ancient... More

Our room was comfortable and clean and the cooked to order full English in the morning was excellent in this quiet, out of the way spot. We only had time for a couple of early evening drinks as we were going out elsewhere in the area but there were four real ales on, of the two I tried, they were... More

Twin room booked for B&B for our friends, an American couple who have travelled world wide. We were a little concerned in case a small country pub would not provide an acceptable standard of accommodation for them. We need not have worried. They said the room and service was better than anything they had stayed in, both in London and... More
