Discover a truly unique tropical hideaway, set prominently on the white sands of Layan beach. This quiet bay with crystal clear waters remains a hidden gem away from the developing beaches of Phuket. A wide range of accommodation options suit your every need; step off your private deck onto the warm sands, or take in a stunning sea view from the hillside. Swim in pristine waters and observe the vibrant sea life below the surface, or explore nearby attractions and nature, learning about local island life. Situated on Layan beach, one of Phuket's most picturesque bays, the resort enjoys a prime location away from busy island life, yet is still conveniently connected to a host of attractions. Just 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport, on the islands west coast, excursions to the Andaman's famed sights are readily available.

Nestled in a serene location ideal for a peaceful retreat, Anantara Layan Phuket Resort boasts stunning views, as noted by many guests. The resort's atmosphere is generally considered welcoming, though some reviewers mention disruptive music by the pool. Luxurious amenities receive high praise, even if some feel they lack ambiance.
The cleanliness of the rooms and public areas consistently impresses visitors. While the resort is seen as a luxurious escape, several travelers comment on the steep prices for on-site dining and services. The exceptional service and spacious, well-appointed rooms with beautiful views are highlights for guests.

Our family trip to Anantara Layan in Phuket was one for the books. Situated on a beautiful stretch of beach, the resort was like a slice of heaven. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable. Dining at the resort was great with several very nice restaurants the choose from. From traditional Thai dishes to international cuisine, everything was spot-on delicious. The kids particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The pool area and the beach are both fantastic, with lots of loungers and very attentive service. But what really made our stay special was the warmth and efficiency of the staff. They were always around, making sure our stay was nothing short of perfect. We plan to come back

This is one of the most well-designed resorts I have stayed at with seemingly minute details paid to every facet of the property. The landscaping is stunning with the resort spanning a lush green forest in the hills down to the beach area. The buggies that help you get around are easily available and quick to arrive. The rooms are completely private and do not overlook any other rooms or balconies.
I find it strange that the hotel does not publicize it's beach offering a bit more. Because of the resort's location, the beach is essentially private. It is also very unique, spectacular before 3pm when the tide is high, and never too crowded. What makes the beach unique is that once the tide recedes after 3pm, the water simply disappears from the lagoon and you can just walk across the sand to the neighboring island. This does mean that any watersports or swimming activity needs to be restricted to before 3pm. Watersports include free kayak rentals, canoe rentals, paddle boarding etc. Because the resort is facing a lagoon, the water is very calm and great to kayak in. Grabbing a drink from the beach bar and watching sunset along the beach was spectacular but I did get eaten alive by mosquitoes there so management can probably do a better job of controlling the mosquito population.
Keep in mind that the location is a bit isolated which means you cannot simply take a stroll outside the resort to grab cheap food. The food at the hotel is good but pricey. Breakfast is decent but more attention seems to have been paid to the decor and style rather than to the taste of the food. Not the greatest. The airport is just 25 minutes from the resort, which for Phuket standards is great!
The gym is well equipped and modern and the pool by the beach is great, never too crowded. There is another pool up in the hills by the gym but this one is a bit strangely located and I did not see anyone using it during my stay. The resort is very quiet and there is no live band or a bar to grab a drink after dinner. This was my 7th stay in Phuket and the 1st at Anantara Layan. This resort is not cheap but if you do cough up the cash it is worth every penny.

Dear W0lfpac, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed review. It is very delightful to read that your first stay at Anantara Layan was an eye-opening experience and that you noticed the "quality" is what we offer here. I am also grateful for your positive observations about the unique beach condition as well. Our beach is located just behind a small island and such an unique location gives us extra unique experience that others do not offer, thank you for sharing your "walking to the island" experience with the readers here. When you plan the next visit to Phuket, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly, we cannot wait to welcome you back to the resort. Thank you and kind regards, Yuki Yamano, Resort Manager

Family trip to Phuket was fantastic at Anantara. The room we booked exceeded expectations, and the service of the staff in all interactions was very friendly and welcoming. We were travelling with a 7 months old baby, and the service to accommodate us was exceptional. Very attentive without being obtrusive.
Breakfast had a good selection of Western and Thai dishes, it was fresh and delicious!
The dinner menu had traditional Thai dishes, and spicy we to our tastes.
The rooms were very comfortable, nicely decorated and plenty of natural light. Large screen television in the room (didn't use this, but it was available). The hotel also provided a cot and baby bath for our youngster!
Housekeeping staff were very attentive and efficient, adjusting the room to personal requirements without any prompting. Made our stay feel personalised.
Beach access was very good, with beach facilities available (volleyball, stand up paddle boards, etc). Plenty of lounge chairs on the beach, and a small bar.
Access to rooms on the higher terraces was also very good, with golf buggies available "on demand".
We would definitely come back again!

From the moment we arrived all the the staff were amazing, friendly, always smiling and extremely helpful. Our room was serviced by Kea, a very kind person, she kept it spotlessly clean every day, we felt she did above and beyond her duties. The restaurant staff in Dee Plee and Breeze were very attentive. Aoy even attended to my insect bites out of sheer kindness. At the Spa Noona was excellent I am going back for more. We had a pool room the pool was cleaned every day. I would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband and I have been fortunate enough to stay in some beautiful resorts over the years and we both agreed this most definitely one of our most favourites. The resort is absolutely stunning. Even more beautiful than it looks in photos. It's been maintained so well and it's just so peaceful.
All of the staff are beyond friendly, happy and accommodating. We were given complimentary early check-in and late check-out. They also provide complimentary water which is always a great gesture.
The buffet breakfast is out of this world - the best buffet breakfast we've actually ever had.
Our dinners at Age and Dee Plee were also amazing!
We would definitely love to return and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

This was my first visit to Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, although I have visited Anantara Mai Khao Phuket a few times and always enjoyed that location a lot. Having read so many reviews particularly noting how great the staff are at Anantara Layan, I knew I would have a similar experience. I certainly did. The entire booking was always efficiently and creatively managed by K Kamonthip and K Phat. I originally booked in January, but had to delay owing to COVID, but the team handled all that perfectly and assisted when I wanted to add on a few additional nights.
Airport transfer was smooth. Check in was smooth. Ate at Sage two consecutive nights. That's not just a testament to the chef's skills (which are impressive!), but mainly to Remy and his team there. Two truly outstanding meals after months of restaurant closures in Bangkok. Anantara really has a star w/Remy. So helpful, personable and just really in tune with what makes for a fine dining experience.
Chef Hong's cooking class was not only educational - but a whole lot of fun too! I'd seen one reviewer commenting here that Chef Hong's cooking class was a trip highlight I and can agree to that. I highly recommend anyone who's interested in not just Thai food, but chef skills and menu planning, food presentation and wine to take this class. You'll be glad you did. She's really that good.
Sugar took us for a quick viewing of the Residences which are all gorgeous and likely to be my next occasion destination. These villas are amazing and would make for a perfect family event or birthday party.
During my stay, I could seen the genuine interest all staff have in making guests feel at ease and relaxed. Exactly what I needed given the past few months. So, my thanks to those all I've mentioned here and to all the others. Truly exception service in a truly exception resort.

It was the second time we stayed in Anantara Layan resort. We had a perfect stay there again. Covid situation was very well handled. We could enjoy a very relaxing and safe stay. The breakfast was great, the beach beautiful and the restaurants proposed us delicious dinners. The staff and their managers were great, helpful and friendly. The resort garden is very luxuriant and very well maintained which ensures a very discreet presence of the villas in a calm and peaceful atmosphere. Perfect.

Amazing resort in a beautiful setting and environment. The food quality in all restaurants and breakfast were outstanding. Creative and healthy choices. K. Beer, K. Rémy, K. Nine, K. Met, K. Mai and K. Bee took very good care of us. Overall the service of all staff was amazing. The whole resort is very clean and modern. Our deluxe layan suite was spacious with big balcony, bathtub and shower. Nothing to miss. The sea is perfect to swim during high tide, very clean water and you can relax in the comfortable sofas at the beach bar. There is also a big and modern pool and they offer free shuttle bus to some shops nearby. On our last day K. Gina, our villa host, prepared a very nice frame with our picture and a card for our anniversary as a gift and memory. Thank you for making our stay so special! Real 5 star luxury - you will not miss anything here. Can only recommend this hotel.

We had a great experience on last night.
Food was unbelievable good. My wife had the us beef and I had the New Zealand beef all was without complaints and we eat a lot of steak.
We recommend for desert the jumbo home made rocher ball.
Also the cocktails are from outer space.
Last but not least, the service was amazing.
We defently would come back.

We stayed four nights in the Anantara, which was at the end of a very full on trip through Vietnam and Cambodia.
It was perfect. We had one of the rooms which was further up the hillside that had a beautiful view over the bay, although this meant we had to call for a buggy to take us down to the main areas and beach, this was never a problem and someone came within moments. The room itself was beautiful , again with every luxury you could want. The staff where all very helpful and made our stay even more special. There were three restaurants, the more basic pool side restaurant which served international food the Thai restaurant upstairs , which served delicious Thai food. The breakfast was also served here, basically anything you could possibly desire, wonderful. Then there was the amazing Age restaurant, very special , the decor the
ambiance, the service {thank you Garn for looking after us so well} and the food was simply sublime .
The beach was lovely to stroll on and you can take out paddle boards, windsurfing, kayaks etc. Comfortable beds/seats on the beach and by the pools , again with wonderful service if you wanted a drink or something to eat.
The sea and the pools where gloriously warm {I hate cold water}.
We cannot recommend The Anantara Layan highly enough, it felt like a little bit of paradise in such uncertain times.

Hi, there are restaurants in the resort but the nearest town is Boat Avenue which is about a 15 minute taxi ride away. Hope this helps.
Anantara Layan Phuket mainly uses local taxi services which the staff can organise for you. Set price to specific locations. . They also do airport transfers but they are more expensive than just doing it yourself on arrival (we do Nd plenty available at Airport). Ask Layan for a price so you ensure you get good value if you organise yourself
