This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

SALA Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort is celebrated for its comfortable, spacious rooms and an array of luxurious amenities, such as private pools and diverse dining options, which have been highly praised by guests. The impeccable cleanliness of the villas and pools also garners positive attention. While the resort's serene location is deemed ideal for relaxation and akin to a celebrity retreat, some travelers feel the experiences are overpriced. The service is generally applauded for being attentive and professional, though occasional lapses in organization have been noted. Guests report a mix of atmospheres, with a particularly neglected reception area at night.

Overall, this was a great experience. From the moment I arrived the service I received was excellent. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Check in was painless and although my room was not ready because I arrived mid-morning, I was directed to the bar and pool area, where I could connect to Wi-Fi and catch up. I had booked a balcony room- which was very nice. All the bathroom area is outside- so you just need to be aware of this. Overall-very spacious and easy to relax. The pool area was great- and not too crowded. The restaurant and bar was comfortable and the food was very good. Breakfast was also excellent with a wide variety of choice.

This is my 2nd time at Sala Phuket, having spent my honeymoon here over 10 years ago. I am also a regular at Sala Chaweng. Sala Phuket was absolutely magic. The beach was stunning around January (dry season) and could swim most day (but make sure you are a good swimmer). Food was wonderful, pool bar staff exceptional and the best was having so much space to relax around the 2 beautiful pools lush lawns and beach (or your pool villa!!!). The best was all the activities that were free for both kids and adults. The hotel was surprisingly extremely kid friendly and Bear was exceptional in giving my kids a mui thai lesson, gel candle making and more. The hotel even held a carnival night for kids as well as cocktails for adults. This is so clever as it keeps the kids entertained and creates quiet spaces for child free adults enjoying the resort. Only constructive feedback is that check out was a bit disorganised and meals by room service sometimes were wrong / missing, but these were mega minor. I cannot wait to be back. Thank you Sala!!!

The most sustainable aspect of Sala was their use of glass bottled water. Big kudos to management. The hotel also encourages guests to re-use their hotels and bed linen. HOWEVER, despite leaving our towels on the hooks, our towels were changed everyday. Housekeeping needs to be aware of and understand the hotel’s sustainable policy. Much also needs to be done with their lighting as incandescent and halogen bulbs are still being used. While not electricity, this also means the bathroom area can get quite warm in the evening. The hotel also needs to replace many of their bedroom doors leading to the balcony, where the wood frames have “warped” and are unable to close properly thus leading to loss of the cold aircon air. What I liked best about Sala Phuket are their massages - their masseurs were excellent and professional. Breakfast spread was superb.

We visited SALA for 10 nights in December and it was honestly one of our favourite places, and we’ve travelled quite a bit! It was such a beautiful place and the staff made everything that much better. We don’t normally return to places as there’s too many places to see in the world but we honestly can not wait to come back. The food was incredible, so a special thank you to the head chef Tony! We would also like to thank Latte & Bee as they also made us feel very welcome and taken care of. Thank you again to everyone at SALA Phuket!

Location - It is located at the northern part of Phuket, and also relatively close to the airport compared to other "popular" destinations in Phuket. I needed a quiet get-away vacation without all the sightseeing etc. This spot is just perfect - the beach is well maintained and serene, very quiet. Most of the family with kids would have spent most time by the pool with an occasional dip into the sea, so you get to the whole sea to yourself most times! You've go everything within the resort (good food, good Wifi, good drinks, etc. ) I did not venture anywhere beyond 1km out of the resort within the 4 days. 7-11 is walking distance away, so are a few local restaurant if you fancy any food outside the resort. Service - This is my second SALA (first one being Koh Samui), again the service never failed. Right from the moment I was picked up by the driver, throughout the entire period of the stay and until the very last minute they sent me off to the airport. The personalised pillow and scented lotion were great as usual, so was the daily flavoured tea. I can't really complain about anything even if I really wanted to! Food & Restaurant - There is only one restaurant that serves your gourmet needs, which includes the daily breakfast/lunch/dinner. You can either order a la carte or the buffet for breakfast - both are great options that provided varieties. I didn't spend eat much there during lunch/dinner, but when I did - the pork ribs were heaven. I initially chose chicken but the waiter was seriously recommending the pork ribs so I went along with it. It was finger-licking delicious and I was stuffed with the portion. I wished I'd eaten more meals there but just couldn't stomach that much of food during vacation. Fitness Center - Gym is well equipped for a resort, obviously I cannot compare it with a proper gym. The layout is a little funny, as they have split machines and free weight into 2 different areas WITH 2 different entrance way. So you need to get through 2 doors if you are switching from one to another. Overall - If you need a quiet place to relax without Patong-ing into late night, this is a go to place for you. Great outdoor facilities such as sun bathing deck, pools and lying lounge bed.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sala hotel. It was tucked away and private offering the luxury of a good hotel. the staff were always friendly and very helpful. The rooms were fabulous with outdoor shower and bathroom which was all part of this fabulous experience,. A swim every morning in the private pool, amazing food all through the day and a very varied menu. The beach was lovely for walks and the hotel pools were stunning.

This was our third visit to Sala and the fourth visit is already booked. To put some context into this review we have been visiting Thailand for over twenty years and have been fortunate to visit some amazing places but this place is extra special. The staff are truly amazing and make your stay so special. Take some time to talk to them and get to know them and you will have friends for life. Pool villas are just pure luxury with 100% privacy. Yes there is an outside bathroom that’s not to everyone’s tastes but we love every aspect of it and if it’s not for you simply don’t come rather than write negative comments. Breakfast is just on another level. You have the best of both worlds with a buffet style selection and a choice of A La Carte, ordering from a menu which cleverly caters to all tastes and cultures. The restaurant and location are just mind blowing. Food is just sublime together with the stunning location you feel like you are eating in the places that millionaire film stars would dine. At the helm of the restaurant is Tony who I now regard as a personal friend who will do anything to make your dining experience special. (Your Branston pickle request is sorted pal) Behind this is the management who are not in your face everyday but subtlety in the background and there if you need anything. GM Anthony is so nice, professional and attentive and the go to person if you have any issues. All the staff are helpful and friendly but a special mention to Bee, Annie, Leo and Queen for making our stay perfect. Looking forward to seeing you all again in March.

I stayed at the Sala for 12 nights in November. This is the 3rd time I have stayed here. Its by far my favourite hotel for the following reasons: - the staff are very attentive and helpful. I dont know everyones name, but Bee at breakfast, Mon the Duty Manager, Beer who gave the Sala Farm Tour, Tony the exec chef and all the bar and restaurant staff were very welcoming - nature everywhere, surrounded by beautiful trees - truely lovely - 2 beautiful pools, with little smoothies brought round during the day - the hotel do free activities such as walks round the local lake, Monday night outdoor cinema with pop corn and icream, Sala farm tour so you can meet David the goat and his ladies, chickens (the fresh eggs are used at breakfast) and various plants to try - a very interesting tour, fire display on sundays, plus live music and thai dancing on other days - great buffet breakfast and a la carte option (which is brought to your table) - Thai health drink left in the room at turn down each evening along with an explanation of the health benefits The Sala work very hard to provide a homely atmosphere and a relaxing stay - mission accomplished!
