Splash Beach Resort is located in the heart of Mai Khao beach, the longest beach on Phuket. The resort is situated at the northwest coast of the island and is part of Sirinart National Park. Surrounded by 47 acres of landscaped gardens, the property has 615 rooms, suites, apartments, penthouses and pool villas, offering a wide range of accommodation options. The resort offers practical, functional and comfortable lodging for all. As Phuket’s only integrated resort complex on Mai Khao beach, it has the island’s largest single-structure conference centre and also Splash Jungle Waterpark set within the resort. Guests of the resort has privileges and direct access to the waterpark where they can enjoy thrilling rides such as Boomerango, a reverse free fall off a vertical wall; a six level wave pool, and an aqua play pool for younger children. For those that prefer less of an adrenaline rush can opt to relax and float through the 335-meter lazy river.

Our family stayed in a 3 bedroom, ocean front villa for 12 days. The room was spacious, clean and nicely laid out. We had our own private pool. We opted in to the all inclusive package, so meals were included. We had full access to the resort and the water park as well. The good: The staff at this resort really make the difference. The Thai's are known for being friendly but I can honestly say, we barely passed a single person who did not greet us and say hello. They were all very helpful and most spoke even a little English (even more helpful for us) The 3 bedroom villa was beautiful and arguably one of the biggest and nicest rooms the resort offers. We had no lack of space or privacy and the back doors opened out to the Andaman Sea, very beautiful! The water park was great. We all had a fun time at the park and went almost every day. The food is NOT included at the water park with the all inclusive and we did not eat there. The water park was not over crowded and was easy to access. The resort is a moderate size. Anyone who is used to Caribbean style resorts knows how large they can get. The

We recently stayed in a two bedroom pool villa for 6 nights with our two teenage children. This place was a dichotomy of experiences, at times amazing, and at times very disappointing, so I will summarise. The Good: The villa was architecturally stunning - very spacious and grand. Double glazed floor to ceiling windows gave an impressive view and turned the airplane noise from a nuisance into a source of entertainment. Huge, pristine private pool, serviced daily. All day complimentary food and beverage service available at a private dining club (including evening cocktails) within short walking distance. Private courtyard with a beautifully maintained garden, with a gazebo to shelter from the harsh sun. A number of excellent local Thai restaurants within close walking distance (my favourite was Red Mango with top class food at reasonable prices. Late checkout was arranged with little fuss and no additional charge. Room service for ice was swift and friendly. Very close proximity to beach and the resorts swimming pool/bar/restaurant. Air conditioner functioned very well, important with the temp and humidity. Complementary come-and-go access to the water park was good. We spent about 5-6 hours there in total over the 6 days. Families with younger children would find the water park access very valuable. The Bad: Very poor Pool Safety. If you are travelling with young children I suggest checking all the door locks that open onto the villa pool area, as two of ours did not close. Front gate was broken, so those guests who expect security may feel concerned. Breakfast at the main Splash Kitchen was an absolute assault to the senses. Very noisy, very busy, and full of rude people. Luckily having a Villa allowed us access to the private Club dining which was a refreshing change. TV reception was horrible, and the channel selection was disappointing. A villa that accommodates 4 adults only had lounge seating for TWO people. My teenage children had to sit on the floor while we spent the evenings together. The sun lounges next to the pool had no mats on them, so were uncomfortable to lay on. On the Sunday at 7.57am the gardeners started up a motorised hedge trimmer only a metre from our bedroom window, waking both myself and my husband. Upon our arrival at the lobby we felt a real lack of a Porter, or any staff to greet us. You have to actually LOOK for someone to help you. This occurred on the 3 occasions we had to get help at the lobby. Customer service is not proactive. The Ugly: After cleaning our room the staff left bags of rubbish/linen sat directly outside our gate for hours. The beach was too dirty for my husbands liking, and it seemed that there was no regular rubbish collection by either the hotel or a local environmental group. In contrast to the beautiful architecture of the villa, the finishings and functionality of many of the fittings were amusing. Doors didn’t shut properly, decking was falling apart, nails sticking up from the floor at join of flooring, sliding door didnt slide, second bathroom had an open air toilet that left both teenagers complaining about privacy, painting work was shoddy and switch plates put on unevenly (picky I know, but it all adds up). All in all, I would not go back, but I feel that the value of these Villa’s is very good as the other alternative was to book two suites, and with food included as part of our package, we spent very little while we were there.

Splash Beach Resort is well located and has everything the family needs for perfect vacations (amazing and helpful staff - especially guys named MISHA (hope I spelled it correctly) and FADON, complimentary waterpark access and lovely setting). The breakfast has a large variety of dished to choose from. The noise from a nearby airport is not a problem, even at night. One setback though - if you do decide to book a room in Splash Beach Resort, I would highly recommend to spend a little more and pick Executive Room or higher. The difference between Executive and Deluxe rooms is gigantic. Execs are much cleaner, spacier and better located but most importantly - what struck us the most when spending two nights in Deluxe after 8 nights in Executive was how the bathroom needed a renovation - when we moved in we found a water on the floor. We couldn't locate its source - at first we thought it was a leaky toilet but it turned out there was a crack in a ceiling (covered in mould) and the water was dripping behind the mirror and all the way down to the floor. Hope it’s just a phase and these rooms will soon get a much needed renovation because the complex as a whole is a great place! One more thing - at the end of our stay there was some sort of business conference taking place in the Resort and all the meals for „regular” hotel guests had been moved to Baan Thai restaurant which, aside from its beautiful setting, is an open building with no air conditioning - it wasn’t comfortable to eat breakfast in hot and humid environment. Also, because of the conference, electric buggies which are normally used to transport hotel guests around the Resort, were also mainly occupied by the conference folks and the hotel management thought it would be good idea to let tuk-tuks in to the Resort which resulted in noise, horrible exhaust smell and danger on Resort’s footpaths.

The waterpark is great, a little maintenance wouldn’t hurt but the kids had a ball. The hotel itself is tired, non functional and in need of some attention. Linen and towels were stained, it looked as though beds were turned down and towels folded strategically in the hope you wouldn’t notice. The room was spacious however felt cramped due to poor layout. Buffet breakfast felt as though you were being herded through a feeding lot, the tables were not wiped down with ants all through the sugar. Staff were pleasant and probably increased the rating to two. If I wanted to go to the waterpark again I would stay at a different hotel close by.

We have been staying at the splash beach resort from the 28th June . We have had the best hospitality, courtesy the Indian chef ATUL who was kind enough to introduce himself and make sure we were given an Indian breakfast everyday. Also he catered to one of our children who was allergic and made specific food for him too. Chef Praveen too was very nice to us !!!!
