A wonderful place to rest to walk on the 'wild side' visit nearby points of interest, then enjoy fine food & service by accomplished hosts, in comfortable accommodation and meet perhaps other guests with interesting backgrounds and experiences in the warmth of a well stocked library/sittingroom prior to retiring to a well appointed room with ensuite to rest for further... If your looking for peace and quiet on the coast then this is a fantastic location. Secluded in amongst the trees of Woody Bay this grand old house is the perfect place to recharge the batteries away from the day to day hustle. Mobile phone coverage is patchy and the wifi is not that great, but that's what we were... More

For us, this hotel was a great find - although another couple we met had been coming here for the past ten years. The Woody Bay Hotel is very much 'out of the way' on a winding, narrow road going down the hill towards the cove (the said Woody Bay). The place is full of atmosphere and is excellently appointed... We've just returned from yet another great weekend at Woody Bay. Martin and Colette continue to provide delicious food, great value wines and comfy beds. The views are stunning! There are lots of excellent walks and places to visit in this beautiful location, Martin and Colette have lots of local interest books and maps for you to refer to.

Stayed for three nights at this delightful small hotel Rooms excellent food exceptional and hosts better than you could ask for All rooms face the views of the woodland sloping down to the bay. A steep walk down through the woods to reach a beautiful bay. Nothing was too much for the hosts. The rooms were clean and bathrooms well equipped.... More

We stayed for 3 nights in early July 2016 on a half board basis. We enjoyed the location on the cliffs with views out to sea. Our spacious room had a large en-suite bathroom and very comfortable large double bed. The highlight of our stay was the evening meal. Three courses with a wide choice of fresh fish, meats or... Spent an awesome weekend at the Woody Bay Hotel. Superb setting, peaceful and very Idyllic. The owners, Collette and Martin, really looked after us, were very helpful and the food 5*. Super weekend, hotel, and walks along the coastline.

The hotel is set amongst beautiful woodlands overlooking the Bristol Channel, with footpaths leading down to a small, secluded unspoilt cove. All the rooms and the dining room have spectacular views out over Woody Bay. Because of its location, there is no mobile signal - for us, a boon! Although the exterior of the hotel is looking a little tired,... More

We've just enjoyed two nights and The Woody Bay Hotel and we absolutely adored it. The building is [I think] late Victorian and although some of it's grandeur is a little faded the situation and view more than compensates. Speaking of the view, our room, in fact all of the bedrooms and public rooms look out over The Bristol Channel... More

We have been visiting 'The Woody Bay Hotel' on and off over the past forty-odd years; we have enjoyed each and every visit under all five different owners; we have seen the hotel diminish in size until now there are just four guest rooms, with half of the hotel now converted into apartments. The magic of this hotel, however, remains.... More
