Amazing, Excellent, Awesome, everything you dream a Maldives Holiday would be. From arrival in Male, we were treated like Lords and Ladies, taken to a lovely 'lounge' for a lovely cuppa, and a much needed 'chill' before the 35 minute Seaplane adventure. At Finolhu, The whole team welcomed us with drinks; we felt 'at home' from the very first minute. The villas were extremely spacious. The bed was massive - plenty big enough for 2 (married) ladies on a girls holiday to sleep without disturbing the other! The outdoor space was huge and well appointed with sunbeds, sofas shade and steps down to the sea. There's a long boardwalk to the villas, which are about 1 km to and from the beach bar but there are always buggys to transport you -a quick call and they're there in seconds. After the boardwalk there's a white sand path shrouded in greenery where you would find the beach villas set back. Beautiful to walk through and walk on. The food in the Beach Kitchen was phenomenal for all the meals with themed nights. There's a Pizza bar and you could get 'fast food' in the beach bar all day long as well. Coffee was fantastic - Americano, French Press, Cappucino, Latte, Flat white - proper ground. I used to go on an early morning walk - about 2km right out to the end of the island and the restaurant manager would have a coffee ready for me as I walked past in a take out cup! Nothing was too much bother for anyone, any time. Staff all said Hello as they passed and everyone seemed to be going about their day with a smile. Kanusan Japanese Restaurant was sublime, One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten in. Arabian Grill would have been my husband's favourite. Crab Shack you had to pay extra on top of All Inclusive for lobster and some other meals, You would HAVE to go all inclusive here, as everything would have worked out very expensive piecemeal! Cocktails were amazing (extra for certain ones) but the range of standard cocktails was enormous. I think there are people who would only drink Laphroaig for instance, and difficult to acquire so fair enough, Beach was white and clean and sunloungers and towels and cushions super comfortable, with bottled water and lemon grass infused flannels brought to you and waiter service all day long! There's a pool bar in the large infinity pool. Entertainment is a couple of acrobats doing fire shows and various shows. Watersports available but we never got round to that! The wonderful staff and the ambience made the trip for us.

Visited the Maldives on 4 previous holidays and have seen 7 different resorts over las 15 years. Finolhu managed to exceed expectations on many levels and would be the only resort where I would consider returning. Not that there was anything wrong with previous visits, just like the variety and access to over 100 different resorts in the Maldives. Not a cheap resort, but everything was perfect, from the beautiful Ocean Pool Villa, food quality and choice, staff and overall service. Only couple of negative comments would be around the poor quality of the House Reef (Little if any hard and soft corals and invertebrate life). For an avid snorkeler and diver, this was disappointing compared with other House reefs at resorts previously visited. Also, extra trips / activities were very expensive in comparison with other experiences and probably as a result, appeared to be very under utilized / booked. Finolhu Management Team - Take Note

I’ve been to Maldives before and after so many search regarding resorts & properties we finally chose Finolhu baa atoll as our Honeymoon destination. Being a Pure vegetarian it’s always tough to find resorts in Maldives. But, seeing other reviews on trip-advisor we were much more relaxed about vegetarian and Indian vegetarian food. We booked this resort for 4 nights in which 2 Nights were booked on private pool villa & 2 nights were booked on ocean pool villa. We had taken all premium inclusive package in our plan for our entire stay which includes everything from minibar in package. We opted for sea plane transfers both way to save our time. After landing at Male we were warmly welcomed by Finolhu staff named Imraz at airport and were taken to the sea-plane terminal lounge in private transfer in their fleet of Mercedes cars. Finolhu’s Sea- plane lounge at terminal was quite relaxing and we were offered Cold towel, some snacks and beverages. Alas We didn’t get much time to explore lounge as we came to know that our sea-plane is departing very soon. Sea-plane experience was lovely and after 30 minutes of scenic flight we finally landed at Finolhu resort after almost 15 hours of journey. At the jetty we were warmly welcomed by Front office manager Sheyma and her colleague Saju. Welcome drinks were offered upon arrival which was quite refreshing. From here Saju took us to every corner of the resort in her buggy so we can know resort much better. After that she dropped us to our private pool villa. She was very kind and courteous. Our private pool villa was neat and clean decorated with beautiful, colourful interiors with heartwarming welcome note. Bathroom was huge and it offered all kind of amenities. Our Ocean pool villas was neat and clean as well and it was much bigger than it was shown in the pictures. Both the villas met our all kind of expectations to the most. Food was outstanding at Finolhu baa atoll. It was hard to believe we were ok small tropical island with the amount of food that’s available. Multiple restaurants and all were fantastic. We were used to take out most of the meal at beach kitchen restaurant. Beach kitchen has theme based buffet menu sets which were used to change everyday. We loved the Vegetarian/Indian food options available at Beach kitchen restaurant. Ram & Shyam at beach kitchen prepared all kind of vegetarian/Indian dishes for us upon prior request. Indian dishes they prepared were delicious. Whenever we were used to visit beach kitchen Restaurant staff Ali, Anastasya & Murugan were used to welcome us very warmly, they always made sure we get beach side tables so we can get better views of the beach and sea. We had planned our one dinner at Kanusan as well which serves lip smacking Asian cuisine. Milo at Kanusan helped us choosing vegetarian dishes from the menu. He explained and served us everything beautifully. Milo had a vast knowledge of cuisines at Kanusan I admit. I would like to thank to the whole restaurant staff including Murugan, Ali, Anastasya, Akram(Don’t forget to get you pictures clicked from Akram, when she’s roaming around. She captures beautiful pictures) & Milo. Jacob from photography team was excellent too. He captured some good photographs of us while we were staying there. Peter at diving school was helpful as well. He taught us some lessons about snorkelling & scuba. The staff from housekeeping to the senior management was 100% perfect. Honestly I can’t remember having such perfect service from a single resort. Basically Finolhu baa atoll is an amazing resort which exceeded our expectations. It was an island paradise with beautiful plantations, superb beaches and exceptional reef.
