Overall Finolhu is an excellent property. It's got a huge sandy beach, great staff, and beautiful rooms. This combination makes it a must visit property in Maldives. As a vegetarian I always had options and that made it really nice. The all-inclusive is definitely a good option to go with but its better if you enjoy drinking at the bars and restaurants. It's an okay option if you want to drink in your room. I also wouldn't recommend it if you are a vegetarian because the food on the island is not as expensive. The resort has daily free activities which is awesome and I recommend visiting over the weekend when they have a lot more parties.

Hotel's Favorite
We booked Finolhu for our honeymoon and much like most couples, we had to postpone our wedding which meant we had to wait an additional 2 years before landing on this beautiful island. It was MORE than worth the wait.

The seaplane was the most incredible experience! Before take off, we were took to the Finolhu lounge and we were so impressed with the facilities. There is access to snacks and drinks but we were most impressed by the ability to shower whilst you're there. The staff on arrival to the lounge couldn't have been more welcoming! We were sign posted to the Finolhu app which we were encouraged to use throughout our stay to make reservations and also communicate with staff. The app is very easy to use and staff were always quick at replying if you had any questions or requests.

When we landed, we were greeted with the most friendly staff and given a cold towel and refreshing beverage. We had the pleasure of having Iby escort us to our room via buggy. We got such an informative tour of the island before we were shown our beautiful lagoon villa. We caught up with Iby on many of occasions during our stay and he was always up for light hearted chat and was always friendly and approachable! One of our Finolhu legends!

We stayed in a lagoon villa and unfortunately Tripadvisor have restrictions on the size of the image you can upload during your review so sadly the pictures we took are not able to be attached to our review but take our word that the room was absolutely stunning. We loved how bright it was and spacious. The decking area has a lovely bench and rocking chairs along side two very comfortable sun loungers and parasol. Our villa overlooked the lagoon which was the most incredible shades of blue throughout our whole stay! We had frequent visitors to our villa such as reef sharks, plenty of beautiful fish and even a sting ray shark! We were so lucky to see dolphins on one of last days swimming in the distance! It is very surreal having this on your doorstep! From someone who isn't a strong swimmer I would highly recommend snorkelling during your stay! There are life jackets in the villa you can use to keep you safe out in the water. If you stay in a lagoon villa, swim over to the other side and experience the resort's own reef. The fish and sea life we seen was absolutely stunning! Little tip .. take a go pro or some sort of waterproof device to get snaps. We sadly didn't bring anything like that and it is one of our regrets that we didn't have any pictures to show loved ones back home.

We opted for the All Inclusive Plus package and we would highly recommend this if you're planning on staying for two weeks, like we did. There is a wine fridge in your room which you can access at your own leisure and the mini bar is stocked with plenty of snacks and drinks. You get 1 replenishment of water and your fridges each day and the staff ensure it is fully re-stocked! We drank sooo much water in the villa and it was never an issue to ensure we had a good supply. The package was extremely beneficial when we were dining and ordering cocktails/alcohol. We only had to pay for pizza's one day because we decided to take this back to the room so the charge was for takeaway only. One of the best benefits from the package was use of the Milk Lab! It has a Deli-like approach and does the most incredible bagels (our favourite was the ham and cheese!!). We appreciate, at the time of booking, it seems pricey but you will 100% benefit from it once you're there!!

We stayed in a pool villa for the day/night of my husbands birthday and the staff were so helpful arranging this and moving our luggage back and forth! We got to enjoy a beautiful floating breakfast that morning and it is something we would highly recommend! The amount you food you receive is incredible!! The sunset views from that villa were spectacular! My Husband likes to exercise therefore the gym facilities were used by both of us and the facilities were great! He also took up running later on in the day time and he assures me the island is great for a run or jog if you're into that sort of thing!

Moving on to dining .. we were blown away with the quality of food on the island. When going All Inclusive, many could assume the buffet style restaurant will be "typical" all inclusive style but Finolhu had an out standing buffet!! They had lots of themes and the food tasted incredible. There are chef stations where some dishes can be made at your request. It allowed us to sample Maldivian cuisine and the food was incredible! During breakfast, you will not be disappointed. There is something for everyone!

I have a gluten intolerance so for the majority of our stay, I stuck to gluten free options and the chefs were always happy to accommodate this! Our last night, the chef was so kind to make me a gluten free cake which wasn't on the menu. Needless to say, I did not share this with my husband because it was delicious! The island was more accommodative to gluten free than some places back in Scotland!

What is really beneficial is they have prompts at the buffet and on any of the A'La Carte menus re: GF etc so you don't have to second guess the dishes.

We frequently ate at two A'La Carte restaurants: Kanusan and Arabian Grill. The settings of both these restaurants was stunning! You felt like you were going on a fancy date night back home. Again, due to Tripadvisor restrictions we have been unable to upload all the pictures we would have liked.

The front of house at all these restaurants were always welcoming and we were always sat at our tables quickly. One night, the rain caused a bit of a delay but we were made comfortable at the bar area of Arabian Grill and were given some drinks whilst we waited. Special mention to: Sara and Anastasia for their warm welcoming upon every arrival to breakfast and dinner!

Arabian Grill has a Middle Eastern/African approach to their menu. My husband absolutely loved the mixed grill and my favourite was the lamb tagine. What's great about Arabian Grill is it's positioned on the beach meaning you can watch fire shows and on Maldivian night, you get your own performance from the dancers.

Kanusan was out of this world! We absolutely love eating sushi back home so if you're like us, you need to make several reservations to work your way through the sushi menu!! If you like asian inspired cuisine, this is the place for you! Utterly stunning. I was obsessed with the decor of this place, especially the bathrooms!

Crab Shack is fantastic for lunch or dinner on a Friday. The island have a white party on a Friday so we would recommend booking dinner for this night and enjoy a gorgeous meal at sunset! You have the most amazing view of the water during the day and can enjoy chilling whilst lots of little crabs strut about on the sand! During the day, we loved walking to the Crab Shack to maximise our suntan but you can get a boat that leaves from the main jetty.

We were so lucky to meet one of our other Finolhu legends during our dining experiences .. Nasheed. He was an absolute gentlemen when looking after us during our meals and we became so fond of him that when we were arriving for dinner, we were delighted when we seen he was working. We enjoyed lots of conversations with him and he was always so friendly. He was so thoughtful for arranging the gluten free cake on our last night for me. It's the little things like this that made us feel so well looked after.

The staff throughout will always ensure you have water during your meals, always have a beverage and will always ensure you are happy and comfortable. You will feel like royalty!!

We met Beatriz during one of our first nights eating in the buffet restaurant. She gave us tons of good tips and information over snorkelling and was always happy to just chit chat about life in general. She is a breath of fresh air!

At night time there is great entertainment whilst you relax under the stars. We enjoyed movie night on the beach one night which was fantastic. Popcorn, cocktails, the stars and a good movie, what's not to love? We were also so impressed with the two woman who performed on the silks, hoop and with fire! The island has a DJ who plays at Crab Shack and also at the main bar at night. His sets were brilliant but we wish he played at the pool during the day as the bar area got quite empty as the night went on. It didn't stop us staying until the end...the bar has such a great variety of cocktails! Ricky and Mauch were always on hand to make sure we were having a great time and had a drink in hand! We were lucky to be served by Ricky on our final day. We went to Crab Shack for one final lunch and he ensured we had a great experience before our trip home.

We spent quite a lot of time on the beach. We loved our villa days but we did enjoy coming down to the beach, get the sand in between our toes and enjoy the nice island breeze! Before the bar opened every day, we were greeted by the friendly bar staff and a tray with water, ice, iced tea and cold towels. A great way to cool down and hydrate before ordering any alcohol! The staff visit you frequently to make sure you have a drink etc. We loved the late afternoon ice lollies or fruity smoothie shots! Lovely little cool down. The beach beds are very comfortable and towels are easy to access. You are only a few footsteps away from the pool bar which is a great place to cool down. Vaishak was always there to greet us with some friendly chat and serving us some great cocktails, especially daiquiris!

There are buggy's to escort you from your room to the main part of the island but we walked more or less everywhere! It let us take in the beautiful views of the island. We were always bumping into ground staff, the lifeguards, work men, buggy crew and we were always greeted with a good morning/afternoon/evening.

We used the Fehi Spa on two occasions and wow, wow, wow! We had a couples massage (Diamond Rose Experience) on the first occasion and we returned on my husband's birthday to have another treatment (Romance at Finolhu). On my husbands birthday the staff were so kind to decorate his bed with a birthday message and even sang happy birthday to him, it was so lovely! We were taken to the outdoor deck to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset after our treatment. The facilities are fantastic at the spa and the staff are so professional. There is even a salon for beauty treatments.

Our only complaint is that the staff did not hold us hostage and we sadly had no choice but to board the sea plane back to Malé after the most insane two weeks!!!

(PS: book into the lounge on the way home at Malé airport - there is no wifi in the main part of the terminal. The lounge has access to wifi, cold/hot drinks and hot/cold buffet)

The holiday of a lifetime has now became a place we must return to! Thank-you so much Finolhu, we hope to see you again very soon!!!

Finolhu! Best choice for kiddos! Third visit to the Maldives and absolutely loved it . Finolhu just made it perfect! Timely check-ins by the staff each day and perfection at the finger tips from all their staff is the silver lining to the rainbow streaked clouds drifting in Finolhu! Food is too good and the level of warmth and comfort is just so special. Special thanks to the staff at the kids’ club, Ikram‘s warm hospitality and Wahid’s joyful shuttles back and forth from our villa!!! Best trip after the covid hiatus!!! Thank you, Finolhu!

I stayed in an overwater villa as well as Beach villa, both amazing and very comfortable. The outdoor space in the overwater ocean villa is very large with comfortable seating arrangements. Loved this place did not want to leave. The restaurant service staff were amazing as well.

I am a Korean tourist. I went on my honeymoon the other day, and 4 days felt too short. The staff were so kind and the condition of the restaurant and villa was very clean and good. What I especially liked the most was the landscaping of the plants. If I have a chance next time, I really want to come back with my family.

We found Finolhu to be a lovely resort. Over water pool villa was very spacious and well decorated. The food in the a la carte restaurants was very good and we also enjoyed the buffet and found the food there of a good quality. Loved Milk Lab, especially for a milkshake and croissant in the mornings when we didn't feel like buffet. Getting the boat to Crab Shack for lunch with the DJ vibes was great! The service at all the restaurants and throughout the resort was exemplary and probably the best we've experienced in many trips to the Maldives. Bar service was also good with a special shout out to Veishak on the pool bar. Drinks on the beach could have been offered a bit more frequently. We upgraded to premium all inclusive so it was good to have the full minibar in the room which was very varied. Some small areas Finolhu could improve upon is the drinks menu ie, Bailey's, Disarrano, Kahlua etc. which are standard at other resorts (not even available with premium AI). Also, the pool sunken bar closing at 6pm is too early considering that's optimum sun setting time. App was also a great feature and really helpful. House reef was good and widespread but didn't see as much marine life as other resorts. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend.

This was our third Visit to the beautiful Finolhu resort. This time we treated our children and partners to join us. to say that this resort exceeds all expectations would be an understatement. The staff are truly amazing. The food and Service is out of this world. Nothing is too much trouble. Finolhu has something for everyone, Our children are aged between 20 and 26 and now the problem is that they want to come back with us when we make our 4th visit to the island... Thank you to all the Staff on Finolhu for helping make this Family holiday one we will remember for a lifetime.

What more can be said that has not been written about before? Finolhu is magical, perfect, and possesses every virtue an idyllic getaway must possess. From checking in and to checing out, across every opportunity of interaction, Finolhu and its staff try and make every moment magical. We found Finolhu staff amazing, however we will attempt to list some names - Ms Komang Hartini, was extremely efficient at the Beach Buffet; Ashes Iama served us amazing drinks at the Crab Shack. Also at the the Crab Shack, Abdulla Ahmed floored us everyday with his service! I however reserve my highest praise for Moosa Sameer, who went out of his way to delight us with traditional Maldivian cuisine; Sameer's service was one of a kind, and is something we will carry with us for a long long time.
