The first designer hotel in the Maldives, where we add a contemporary touch to the beauty of sea, beaches and typical tropical atmosphere, creating a unique resort. High-end furnishing combines naturally with the Maldivian ambience, creating a welcoming and hospitable environment for an unforgettable holiday. All this with the very warm hospitality of the Cocoon staff, because a hotel is not just the architecture, but more about the small details that our staff attends to your every need. Once arriving on Male, it’s a short 30-minute journey by seaplane to the haven of Cocoon.

Cocoon Maldives has garnered high praise for its attentive staff, with guests consistently lauding the exceptional service that adds to the hotel's vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The resort's beachfront location is often cited as a highlight, offering picturesque views and a plethora of water activities.

To celebrate 30 years of marriage we wanted a really special holiday - in Cocoon we found it. Heavenly! Seaplane a new experience, looking down on tiny perfect islands and the bluest sea. Our suite was right on the beach, large and luxurious with an open air bathroom, extremely comfortable king size bed and bi fold doors opening onto a furnished terrace with a swing. Cleaned to a very high standard twice a day with soft robes, slippers and beautiful toiletries.
The island is small (took 30 minutes to walk around) but has so much to offer and is so beautiful, the birds, hermit crabs and massive bats fascinating and the sea life captivating - we snorkelled daily.
Food choice first class - there was everything you could want and it was all so delicious. All of the staff were so attentive, friendly and took time to chat to us. Special mention to Pradeep, Mush, Victor, Nexxey, Shah and to Jay and Pedro on the Management team who took time to chat to us.
Plenty to do if you choose. We went out on a boat to do snorkelling, tried paddle boarding and we did an escorted jet ski trip, seeing dolphins, stingrays and turtles. There was a party on the beach with canapés, cocktails and a DJ, dancing literally on the edge of the ocean. There are singers every night and they were excellent. There is also a spa, yoga on the deck, cinema evening on the beach, a trip to a local island etc etc
It was wonderful and we are very likely to return someday- thank you!!

Dear Corinne, Warm Greetings from Cocoon Maldives! Thank you greatly for giving us the honor to be the destination of your choice to celebrate your 30-year milestone of marriage. Congratulations! I read your review enthusiastically as you mentioned you have found paradise on our perfect island, alive with captivating marine animals on land and in the sea. What a treat to know you have rested in comfort and luxury in our stylish Beach Suite, with daily turndown service and world-class amenities. Also, with the plentiful and delicious cuisine. We stayed at Coccon for 7 nights all inclusive, in March this year. From the moment we were collected from the seaplane we were treated superbly, We had booked a beach villa which was lovely, 1 minute walk to be in the clear sea.
We upgraded to a lagoon villa for our last 4 nights, it was well with the upgrade, to be able to walk down the steps into the the crystal blue water was amazing.
Our service was superb, in particular Sam in the restaurent was amazing a great waiter. The food quality was very good the sweets were heaven. I rate this resort as very special.

Just returned from a 10 day stay at Cocoon in a Lagoon Suite (410) and I have to say that from arriving on the Seaplane where we were greeted in such a friendly manner and taken to check-in which was seamless and quick and then given a tour of the island before being deposited to our room it was what I can only describe as like being in paradise. The suite was comfortable, stylish, clean and well-serviced and we spent most of the time on the deck either watching or swimming with the fish and rays that were in the lagoon. Food in the main restaurant was tasty, well prepared and cleverly presented. We spent most of the time relaxing as we have both been quite ill so didn't make the most of the beach sports on offer but it was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves and also watching the seaplanes coming in and out. This resort has been so well thought out to offer anything you need to make your holiday a success, you can do everything or nothing - its up to you. The most important thing have to say to the General manager that everyone in your team are a credit to you, they are all so friendly, know their jobs and so obviously like doing their jobs that there are too many of them to mention by name. But I cannot finish without thanking Baarch who greeted us on day one and kept checking in with us to make sure we were all right and was there when we left, thank you so much and we will be back again one day when we are in need of some TLC. I don’t write reviews very often but had to do a write up on cocoon as we simply had such a memorable experience.
From check in to check out service was impeccable! ALL staff we encountered were absolutely wonderful, friendly and attentive. Would like to give a special thank you to the restaurant staff in the Octopus restaurant for making every meal enjoyable! Waiters were so friendly, they remembered our names and our usual drinks order - I think one of our waiters was Afzul he was just brilliant. Staff helped us as we were travelling with an 18 month old baby! They were great with her and always went above and beyond.
Rooms were spotless and cleaned twice a day (one was an evening turndown) we asked for extra water on the first day and from that day on every day our room was stocked up with 2 extra water bottles when it was cleaned/restocked without us asking.
The guy that does the excursions (so sorry forgotten his name) was brilliant - so friendly and made sure we all had a great time. We were lucky and got to see Manta Rays, was such an incredible experience, one we will remember forever. Excursions are very reasonably priced and worth every penny! €70 for the manta trip was only us and one other family and we even saw dolphins too.
Island it’s self is gorgeous everywhere you look is a different photo, it’s green and full of trees and plants and also the iconic powder white sand. Resort is clean and kept tidy every day by that staff that work incredibly hard to maintain it.
The reef around the island is great you can swim out really far and there’s loads to see when snorkelling. In a week I saw manta ray, sting ray, eagle ray, turtle, barracuda, octopus, dolphins, lion fish, loads of pretty little fish and even live corals on the Coral Garden excursion.
Thank you so much to everyone at Cocoon we could see how hard you were all working and we had the most wonderful special Christmas because of you all :)

Having just spent 12 nights combined at he properties,I am happy to report back. Cocoon is incredibly covid aware and it was scrupulously cleaned with masks having to be worn in confined spaces, sanitiser everywhere and one's temperature taken every day when entering the dining room.
Our lagoon villa was very large and incredibly comfortable. We would often spend most mornings sat on our porch reading.
Stand out was the food. I normally hate buffet's but this was live food stations and consequently the food was always fresh and hot. Fantastic selection and not too many choices, yet just enough.
The staff go out of their way to serve and the waiters were all fantastic. Notable people were our room boy Amir, Samantha in in the restaurant and Rash in the dive center
The only thing we didn't expect was the amount of young kids which is why I was so happy when we were proposed to move to the You and Me by cocoon for our last 3 nights. This is an adults only resort and we absolutely loved it. Mr Tuan, the front desk manager at cocoon, helped us sort the transition out. He was so incredibly helpful the whole time, and gave me his number on whatsapp and was always so willing to help us out. He even put us through to the lovely Laura who works at You and me. she helped us to book all of the restaurants.
The Vibe at you and me was more our style. Lots of couples, no kids ( i love kids. I have 3 but not on this holiday) which was better for this holiday. The food is also good here and the dine around A la carte option is a real winner. The diving in both hotels is good and I think that both properties offer fantastic value for money.

Our stay at Cocoon was amazing! The food, location, accommodation and staff were all 10/10. We stayed in a water villa for the first 8 nights then one of the water villas with a pool for the last 2 nights - money well spent on the upgrade! All the rooms are light and spacious with balconies and steps down into the turquoise sea.
I can't speak highly enough of the staff at Cocoon. They are all really friendly and go above and beyond. A particular shoutout goes to Afla (Afzal) in the restaurant. He is a huge asset to the resort and genuinely nice guy. He remembered our names and drinks we liked from day 1 and we got to know each other well. He even taught us a few of the basics in Maldivian. Shukuriyaa!
Our room was cleaned twice a day and always seemed to be perfectly timed. Cocoon use reusable glass bottles for water which is a nice touch.
We're foodies and the food was absolutely delicious. Each day was themed with different cuisines from Italian, Indian, Japanese and Maldivian (the best one in my opinion). There are several cooking stations that offer different types of freshly made pasta, a wok station and ones for meat and fish plus a very expansive salad bar. I'm that person that had a bit of everything on their plate because it was too good not to. They also do this amazing garlic chutney if you like a bit of a kick.
The island itself is beautiful and incredibly clean. There were loads of activities to do like paddle boarding, canoeing and a daily snorkel tour to a nearby reef where we saw manta rays and turtles.
It did rain on and off but didn't seem to last very long. On a day it rained all afternoon they have a cracking bar with a good selection of cocktails that will keep you occupied.
Thank you very much for having us Cocoon. We will definitely be back in the future!

We stayed at Cocoon for 10 nights in September for our honeymoon! We were a little nervous we wouldn't be able to go because of Corona, but thankfully our flights went ahead form the UK, and because of the new requirement in everyone entering the Maldives to have a Covid negative test, it actually meant we felt extra relaxed because we knew everyone around us was virus free!
From the moment we arrived it felt like paradise! The staff were incredible, so friendly, helpful, kind and gave us an amazing experience.
We couldn't decide whether we wanted to stay in a beach villa or ocean villa, so we did both! 5 nights in each, perfect amount of time!
The beach villa was incredible because it felt so private, cosy and amazing to have this beautiful huge beach as your back garden. The outdoor bathroom is also a very cool feature, we loved the shower!
But the Ocean Villa was breath taking, we were lucky enough to have an ocean villa with a pool, and as soon as I entered the room I was blown away with the view, and when the sunsets came it was breathtaking.
The food was delicious, because of Covid the restaurant was set up as al a carte, this was even better for us! The service was also amazing, a big shout out to Rohita, we loved having him as our waiter each day!
The housekeeping staff were also amazing, they made our rooms so beautiful each day and created sweet touches to make our honeymoon extra special.
We loved the Dolphin excursion and the Private Sandbanks excursion. But we also just love chilling and enjoying the island. It was so perfect and we can't wait to return.

Cocoon is a beautiful resort in a dream setting, with friendly staff who work hard to ensure you have a great vacation.
Requests made on Day 1 to Tuan at reception, were all swiftly managed. F&B Manager Dinesh followed up at every meal to make sure there was a specially made vegetarian dish ready for me and the waiters assigned to our table, Ninetay, Shifaz and Nizan, were always friendly and super efficient.
General Manager Ram Bhoyroo not only runs a smart operation, but personally greets guests and takes his turn to serve food at the buffet, leading by example.
PCR tests for our return were also efficiently handled by a special "COVID Concierge".
The rooms are kept spotless by cleaning staff twice a day and a crew also cleans the beaches. (Recommend the beach suites)
There were two highlights of our visit:
1.The sunset bar was a quiet place to hang out, tucked away from the rest of the resort, with great views and expertly made cocktails by brilliant barman Fernando.
2. If you're a qualified diver or want to learn, Rash at the Oceanico Dive Centre is a real master of his craft, inspiring confidence on every expedition.
Top tip: Make sure you know exactly what the "All Inclusive" package does and doesn't include when you book. Cocoon differs from other hotels with two levels of packages and all meals are buffet style in one restaurant.

Cocoon Maldives was the perfect place to stay for my 7 night girl's trip to the Maldives! The resort was beautiful and well maintained; the staff was friendly and personable; the food and drinks were delicious and of high quality; the excursions were awesome; and the room was spacious and comfortable.
Thank you Cocoon for going above and beyond to make my stay amazing. I booked the Beach Suite with the XXL All Inclusive Package. Highly recommend the Suite room is you wish to stay on land (instead of the overwater rooms) for its spaciousness and amazing outdoor shower.
Upon arrival to Male, my friend and I were whisked away to a lounge to wait for our seaplane transfer to the island. It was nice to stay in the AC and have some snacks while we waited. This, along with the departure assistance in Male (SUPER helpful) was included in the XXL package.
The seaplane was a cool experience in itself and soon enough, we were at Cocoon. Check in was thorough and quick, and then we were taken on a tour of the island and to our rooms.
The island is the perfect size to allow plenty of space to lounge at the beach/pool/snorkel/etc. We never felt overly crowded. Each room comes with their own loungers at the beach, but we found the loungers near the pool bar to be great for lagoon snorkeling and also bar service.
For snorkeling, the island has some coral near the overwater bungalows and lots of fish life near Manta (the a la carte restaurant). They offer snorkeling trips to house reefs 2x per day weather permitting.
The excursions were canceled at the beginning of the trip due to rough waters (totally out of everyone's control), but the hotel staff was happy to work with us to make sure we made it onto as many excursions we could, which I was super appreciative of. We did a Manta trip, Dolphin cruise, and a Turtle/Dolphin trip, and the excursions team was A+.
The spa had a range of treatments and offered very good prices. I had a Balinese massage and it was heaven!
For food and drinks, the themed nights at Octopus had plenty of delicious offerings and the food was always fresh and tasty. We also had dinner at Manta, which is more for a couples vibe, but the food was very good. The drinks were made with lots of fresh ingredients and the wine list offered for XXL was very good.
The staff is really so friendly and made Cocoon a great time. Kudos to our servers during our stay, Shifaz and Ninetay; the entertainment staff; bartenders Ifshann and Foyzul, and excursions guide Misbahl. Overall, everyone and everything about Cocoon is fantastic! Thank you!

In March we stayed for 9 nights and we have never been on such an amazing holiday. Everything worked perfectly on transfers always someone on hand at Male to assist on the seaplane transfer as we had never done it before. The Island is amazing it took all of half a day to immediately be relaxed.
Whilst some people think there is nothing to do in the Maldives it was actually our most active holiday we have ever had so much to do and the snorkeling is just amazing. The resort staff are fantastic, my girlfriend has a lot of food allergies so we told the chef on day one and they couldn't be anymore helpful, which made her relax as one of the severe allergies is seafood so you would think the Maldives is not a great place to go. It is you shouldn't worry they will just look after you with whatever you need.
Got engaged on the beach at a private dinner, just everything was amazing throughout the holiday. Great value for money when everyone thinks the Maldives is so expensive, Cocoon provides this at a sensible price but with everything you expect of the Maldives.
Can't wait to go back....

Hi the kit is free to hire. When I come next time I will bring my own kit. There is wild life especially under the water villas, many types of fish, mantera and much much more. Fabulous. The excursion we went on there were sharks too. Truly amazing. Hope helpful.
We were a couple travelling with adult friends. There were families and people from all over the world. The island is large enough to feel space, there is a kids plsy area and a kids buffet too in the main dinning room. They will love it.
The main restaurant can get a bit busy during dinner, but the staff is incredibly attentive and manages everything smoothly. There’s always a great variety of food, so even if it’s bustling, the quality and selection remain top-notch.
