My (new) wife and I began planning our wedding back in January 2020 (Pre-COVID!). We looked at a few venues, but were drawn to Hackness Grange - mainly because of the beautiful Island setting for our wedding ceremony. We met their wedding co-ordinator, Sharron, who has been an absolute pleasure throughout the process. COVID sadly did change our day drastically, but Sharron and the hotel staff were more than happy to accommodate our wishes as best they could - while staying within the COVID guidelines that had to be followed. We had regular contact with Sharron throughout the planning process and cannot fault her on this. The big day came and we were very excited! We were only allowed 15 guests due to COVID, but the hotel made the ceremony and the day feel very intimate and personal despite the situation. The venue and its surroundings are idyllic and perfect for my wife and I. The hotel is not currently open to the public, but the staff were more than willling to open things just for us, and brought staff in to meet our demands. The food was excellent, and there was plenty of it! The bedroom was beautiful, warm, comfortable and welcoming. We even were able to bring our dog to stay with us! Nothing too much trouble. Will highly recommend to anybody considering it!

With all the madness going on in the world Hackness Grange Hotel is the perfect place to get away from it all. From beginning to end our visit was lovely and relaxing. The view from our room, our bed, the food, staff and grounds were perfect. Looking forward to our next visit soon. Many Thanks

My husband and I got married on the 29th February and had our reception at Hackness Grange. We were very lucky and had a lovely sunny afternoon; the grounds are absolutely stunning for outdoor photographs. The food is amazing, all 60 of our guests were very happy. The staff were excellent; the Wedding Coordinator went above and beyond and assisted in pinning up my (dress) train for the evening reception. It was lovely to see Roger, the owner there, asking us if we were happy with everything and he wrapped our cake up for us himself ready for us to take home. We cannot recommend this place enough, a beautiful gem in the gorgeous countryside!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights which we thoroughly enjoyed. All staff were friendly, helpful, welcoming, and efficient. The work done to the hotel over the past eight years is a credit to Roger and Pinky, and what has been achieved in such a short time is commendable. The room was comfortable, very clean, very warm, and decorated to a high standard. The setting was peaceful and relaxing, with the hotel very conveniently placed for many attractions. The quality of the food, both breakfast and dinner was excellent. The recently completed function suite is absolutely stunning. Many thanks to all, we will be back!

We spent New Year's Eve 2019 here and we felt really well looked after. We are a couple and we had our Tibetan Terrier with us. Obviously the hotel is in a 10/10 setting which is just fabulous and a real switch off from a busy life. The room was exactly as described and had an on-trend classical feel to it with a modern bathroom where everything worked. We were not in the main building but across the courtyard. I had requested a king size bed and this is exactly what we got. The dog was also really welcomed by the staff. The New Year's Eve menu was thoughtfully prepared and the food was really tasty and the wine very reasonably priced. I felt we had very good value for money. Portions were large, the food was good quality and the dining room and bar staff could not do enough for us. The atmosphere was so welcoming and Roger (the owner) made a point of introducing himself to us and took time for a chat, which was nice. The next morning, I went for a fabulous run along the Derwent and through the grounds, followed by a 'just as it should be' English breakfast. We asked if we could use the hose pipe on our very muddy car before setting off to Scarborough and Roger even offered to clean the car for us! Would definitely return here. Thanks to all the team for making our stay so lovely.
