What a lovely place, I could visit there any time again. Pool was great with pre teen, 12 years and the sea just next to resort was like an aquarium, just few kicks away from the beach. Lovely staff and good food. Little Addu town nearby was nice visit with bikes that hotel provided. Love the place.

Spent a few hours here after an early morning flight (waiting for pickup by driver). The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We purchased $13 USD per person breakfast, used their strong WiFi, and enjoyed their beachside pool lounge chairs. While we did not need a guest room, one was offered at a reasonable price. Based on our limited experience, we would definitely give this hotel a try when visiting the area in the future.

We spent christmas & new year holidays in Equator village and i would rate our stay a 10/10.
Of course there will be always spoiled tourists complayning about basic rooms equipment, small size TV and only one type of shampoo in the bathroom, but luxury seekers should stay out, this place is better off without them.
Instead, you find here friendly, attentive staff, chance to interact with locals and explore nearby connected islands on foot, bycicle or scooter, snorkel the reef, lush with vegetation and fish life, watersports (SUP, jetski), tennis court, big new pool with poolbar, and very good cuisine. I fully reccomend taking all inclusive package, it is well worth it.
We enjoyed a guitar concert by local musicians, and a nice new year's party.
We also liked hanging in the bar area, playing cards, ping pong, shooting pool and interacting with other guests, we made quite a few new friends too :)
Mr. Waheed, you are running a hotel with a soul, keep up the good work!

African and Oriental Travel Company arranged for me to stay in this historical former British military compound that was converted into a wonderful all-inclusive resort that gives you the feel of being in a colonial era. We arrived by boat from Fuvahmalah Island and were picked up by the resort van and brought to the reception. The reception area is located in the former British Sergeants Mess; which also includes the dining area, bar, pool, fitness room, game room and nice beach area. The bungalows are comfortable, the air conditioning works well, the bathroom is large and good hot water in the shower. There is a large drying rack on the small front patio of your room to dry clothes and diving gear. The food is delicious and plentiful for each meal. The bar has numerous alcohol options, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. If you want higher-end alcohol and/or wine it is expensive. The management and staff did an outstanding job on supporting our group and provided extra transportation support so we could do our daily diving. They also provide transportation to the airport.

Firstly, I refer you to millicaa2007's review - Little Strech of Paradise. This is a great description of the property - no arguments. Secondly, coming here was a great idea. I had been in self-imposed isolation in London for eight months and had to make a change. It takes a little more effort and stress to book a trip these days but it was oh so worth it. The first moment I stepped in the water all the stress from the past eight months washed away. I am one of two guests at the moment so I feel like I have this large beautiful garden to myself. I encourage you to make the effor to find this beautiful peaceful setting.
My three main reasons for coming couldn't have been better met. I wanted to spend time swimming, snorkeling, and diving. I can swim all I want ten seconds from my room. The water is clear and not too deep. I snorkel the same route and see turtles and many colorful reef fish. I wll start diving in two days with the affiliated dive shop.
The second reason for coming was to improve my diet from Deliveroo delivered meals. I have yet to see a menu here. The chef understands what I want and surprises me each meal with delicious and healthy creations, generally with grilled fish perfectly seasoned. The restaurant staff in particular have made me feel very welcome.
The third reason was to find a location where I could spend more time outdoors and this is the perfect setting. Palm trees and lush vegitation on the beach...perfect.

This is not an hotel it’s a converted airforce barracks the Staff are very helpful there is no Hospitality management at all in this hotel the food is very poor the rooms are clean and tidy it’s ok for a backpacker passing through or anyone going Scuba diving this is not a place to go on holiday to it maybe be cheaper than any we’re else but do yourself a favour and pay the bit more and go to a 5 star resort I wish me and my wife had they don’t cater for the English there wasn’t many people staying there maybe 50 and they were rather German or Russian I would never recommend this resort as it’s in the middle of nowhere not even 1 star but I can’t fault the staff they tried there best they all need training no glasses and the cheap sprits we’re un drinkable the high light of the holiday is that the best food we had in 10days was the food on our Emirates fight home if I could’ve come home after a day I would have this was supposed to be a holiday of a life time it was the opposite. My advice is if your British or American don’t go to this resort. Stay away

We arrived to Gan Island from Male using the local propeller plane. we had breathtaking views and met the lovely locals, going about their day. We were even presented with a certificate stating we had crossed the Equator.
We arrived at Equator Village in a few as the picturesque airport and hotel are literally on the same road.
We passed beautiful buildings, once part of the British Military and now our home for the next 3 nights.
We were greeted by lovely staff including the manager Mr Waheed. He was a lovely gentleman, well mannered and softly spoken. He put us at ease straight away and we chatted over some lovely juice.
We were shown to our spacious room. Yes it is a bit dated and yes it could do with a lick of paint but it was perfect for purpose and keeping in sight, this was a military site, it has retained some of it's heritage.
The housekeeping was immaculate and all the staff were so lovely and polite, bearing in mind most of the staff were Maldivians who lived on the island, they were very proud of the resort and the surrounding islands.
Each room has a spacious terrace. There was a wooden stand to hang out swimming attire and snorkeling gear. Remember to bring snorkels, the island has the best sites for snorkeling and the calm waters are filled with beautiful coral and fish. This is somethin we missed dearly when we moved onto our second island and snorkeling was difficult with the ocean currents.
The excursions were excellent, the trip to Bushy Island and the spinner dolphins excursions were breath taking, definitely an experience to remember.
the food was excellent. There were lots of fresh fruit, salads and a range of different cuisines. The staff knew how to take care of us during our stay.
We visited some local eateries and got a taste of Maldivian life and walked into Addu - we were not disappointed and enjoyed the slow, tranquil and laid back pace of life.
Mr Waheed and his team were brilliant ambassadors of this beautiful island. We really would award this resort a 5 star resort and 7 star service. Nothing wqs too much and Mr Waheed even changed our flight to alter one so we could go on the dolphin excursion.
We loved this resort and cannot wait to come back again. Please pass our thanks and gratitude to each and every member of your team. Thank you

A sweet, simple, tropical resort with family-like staff
I greatly enjoyed my stay at Equator Village, and it was very sad to leave what felt like a new home away from home. The resort's greatest assets are its hard working staff members who treat you so well that you feel like family. Housekeeper Chandhu was always exceptionally polite, and he always left the room spotlessly clean and smelling incredibly fresh. He also took care of my multiple laundry orders and returned them well before 5:00 PM. Dining room attendant Gadir was incredibly sweet, always remembering my drink order for dinner and greeting me upon arrival and departure. Both front desk attendants were incredibly helpful no matter how many times I asked for help, and they were quick to exchange currency and offer information on speedboat departures to local islands. And I cannot go without mentioning the resort's most diligent and omnipresent head employee Hazrath, who tirelessly gave assistance around the clock concerning all matters of needs.
The resort itself is historic, and I had the great luck to run into manager Mr. Waheed, who was born in what is now the resort's diving center when it was the island's hospital. He took the time to correct my self-researched maps and even phoned a contact so that I could walk through the old Astra movie theater, which was the highlight of my entire sightseeing trip. He also arranged my quick visit to the country's southernmost point, which can only be done after government approval. The breakfast and dinnertime food selections were always delectable and mouthwatering, especially all the pasta choices in the evening and the morning omelettes. The bar made top-notch cocktails, and the pool was clean, at an agreeable temperature, and surrounded by lush vegetation. The resident kittens and roosters were such an adorable addition, and I loved running into them sunbathing some mornings as I left my room. The resort offers bicycles for rent, and it is a cheap and convenient way to explore the connected islands at your own pace. The rooms were incredibly spacious with clean, white furniture, a much loved mini fridge, a bright and modern bathroom, and a splendid front porch that let you sit outside and listen to the nearby waves. Visiting during the "low season" was certainly a treat, as you felt like you had such an excellent facility and staff practically all to yourself.

We were very excited to come to Equator Village during our stay in Addu. In advance we booked a room for day use for the three of us, which got confirmed by the resort.I was traveling with two local friends who wanted to show me their home island. Once we reached, reception was quite busy so they asked us to wait in the lobby. We were served a welcome drink (package juice) and the glass it was served in was already broken. Nevertheless after waiting for around 20 min, the receptionist was coming to proceed the check in. Surprisingly he was talking to us in Dhivehy even if it was quite obvious that I'm European, not a local. He rudely ignored my presence and explained my friends that we can't have 1 room for day use since unmarried couples can't stay in a room. Furthermore he explained that if I wanted to drink alcohol, I have to sit on a separate table. He offered that I can book a single room and my two guy friends can pay 20 USD for pool usage. After that he disappeared and did not attend us anymore. Those things could have been discussed before confirming our room, since resorts usually don't follow this kind of policies. We decided that we all will pay for the pool use only and went to reception for payment. He continued speaking in Dhivehy and was advising my friends that he will kick us out if we would not behave. Also he explained that we have to pay another 20 USD each to get beach access (even if a proper beach was not even existing so obviously we refused). We went to the pool area and were checking for towels. After checking with the bar staff, I went back to the reception to get towels for us. The receptionist told me he will check and I have to wait in the lobby - again. After 15 min he still didn't get back to me, only after I went to talk to him again, he told me there are no pool towels available in the whole resort. I asked for shower towels but he said those are not available as well, and that towels are not included in the pool package. Quite funny since I saw other guests coming with fresh pool towels to the pool side. It was quite obvious that he just wants to get rid of us. I told the receptionist we want our money back so that we finally can leave this place after all this waste of time - luckily he agreed.
We've all been working in a 5 Star Resort in Maldives, have traveled within Maldives and I've been in 47 different countries but I have never experienced such a rude, disrespectful and unprofessional behavior like that. Every staff in a backpacker hostel or simple guest house knows better how to treat and handle guests and gets better training then in this so called "resort".
After my friend left his honest review, the resort manager called us to apologize which we first appreciated but shockingly after a small talk he asked us to remove the review. For someone working in hospitality industry for years, this is quite unbelievable.

+1
The location is why I chose Equator village but the staff attentiveness prior to my arrival was what made me keep the reservation. Abdullah Fahmy is the consummate host. Responsive, detailed, accommodating and friendly. Waleed whom I met at the resort attended to all my needs and was an excellent communicator. Everyone made me feel special and welcome. Food! I’ve visited quite a few 5 star resorts throughout the Maldives and the chefs at the Equator Village rank in my top!! There was always a variety of options and perfectly prepared. Prabhu and Kayam should be commended. Diving with Axel was exceptional as well. He is very professional, knowledgeable of the area and allowed me to not only enjoy the dives but I felt safe with him. I highly recommend Equator Village if traveling to Addu.
