I stayed at the Equator Village in February 2020. While I consider myself an avid traveller, I can honestly say I wasn't prepared for such a remarkable experience. This may be one of the last resorts where you can enjoy in a completely relaxed and natural manner, without going overboard. The hotel is situated on the same island as the airport, which is only a 5-minute ride from the front gate. Still, you remain entirely unaware of the fact as no noise can be heard at any time. You may feel as if you're the only guest residing, as the grounds are vast and tranquillity is cherished. The amenities are very nicely combined with lovely grounds, full of exotic wildlife (none of which is actually dangerous, so don't fret). My large room was kept nice and clean, as well as the guest areas. The food was delicious and well thought out, international dishes were expertly prepared, and I encourage you to try some of the local specialities. I even got a cake for my birthday, and it was delicious (this is truly a compliment to the chef as I usually do not like sweets). The hotel also gifted me a traditional Maldivian coconut-chocolate cookie wrapped in palm leaves. The beach in the Equator Village is divided into a couple of small coves, separated by 2-3 stone and one wooden pier. The sunbeds are located on the level above, also on the white pearly sand. Lush vegetation provides a fine shade, but do be careful as you can burn quickly in the equatorial sun. While the beach is not wide, the water has that beautiful turquoise quality, and it is riddled with darker spots. These may look like grass or stone on pictures, but are actually coral reefs steaming with life. Never have I seen anything like it, there is literally a hundred varieties of fish, including the tortoise and smaller sharks. They do not attack and are not fed by the hotel's employees, like it's done in some other places. I can only applaud the level of environmental consciousness displayed in the Equator Village. There are a couple of field trips offered: the island hopping tour and the dolphin tour are a must. The first takes you to another island in the Addu atoll where you will take a stroll along a small town and sample some of the local life. After this you sail to Robinson Crusoe-type of a small uninhabited island, where the water looks so amazing, like it is not from this planet at all. Lunch is prepared by the hotel staff while you're snorkelling. The dolphin tour involves sailing to a spot between the islands to see dozens of dolphins in their natural habitat. I believe this is a rare opportunity for people living in modern cities to truly connect with nature and witness something majestic. I will go back to Equator Village. This is one of the last stretches of paradise unspoiled by commercial tourism, and their splendid staff makes you feel like you belong there.

Spent a few hours here after an early morning flight (waiting for pickup by driver). The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We purchased $13 USD per person breakfast, used their strong WiFi, and enjoyed their beachside pool lounge chairs. While we did not need a guest room, one was offered at a reasonable price. Based on our limited experience, we would definitely give this hotel a try when visiting the area in the future.

We spent christmas & new year holidays in Equator village and i would rate our stay a 10/10. Of course there will be always spoiled tourists complayning about basic rooms equipment, small size TV and only one type of shampoo in the bathroom, but luxury seekers should stay out, this place is better off without them. Instead, you find here friendly, attentive staff, chance to interact with locals and explore nearby connected islands on foot, bycicle or scooter, snorkel the reef, lush with vegetation and fish life, watersports (SUP, jetski), tennis court, big new pool with poolbar, and very good cuisine. I fully reccomend taking all inclusive package, it is well worth it. We enjoyed a guitar concert by local musicians, and a nice new year's party. We also liked hanging in the bar area, playing cards, ping pong, shooting pool and interacting with other guests, we made quite a few new friends too :) Mr. Waheed, you are running a hotel with a soul, keep up the good work!

We visited the Equator Village Resort 7-15 December. We walked into a tropical garden and onto a beautiful reception area. My sister has never traveled and I am well traveled. Our room we shared was large and spacious. There is a small fridge and a well needed aircon. Rooms run perpendicular to the sea view or beach. If you want to be close to the sea book room numbers endin in “1”. We booked twin beds and arrived to a double bed. We figured we could split the double bed into two twin beds but needed extra linen which took 3 days to negotiate with the staff to provide. This was frustrating. Nevertheless we had an amazing holiday. Food was great. Not the usual but it was great to try out the local cuisine. The dining room is hot but we loved the open feeling to it. Oh and you are not allowed to take food out the dining area to eat later. The pool is fantastic. But the best was the excursions and the gorgeous reef that runs parallel to the shoreline about 1 km out. Shallow enough to Snorkel to. We spent hours snorkeling around the natural lagoon. There is very little pollution and reef is teeming with marine life. You can spend hours here. Tips: Go on all the excursions the hotel offers. It is worth it. Best to take the full board package as it includes the excursions and drinks. Bring Mozi spray. Pack light but bring TShirts & a skirt. (you must cover your shoulders and knees outside the hotel). There is very little shops to obtain souvenirs. The one excursion that offers to explore Addu, the tour guide knows the island well and can help you with this.
