Rustic and charming facility with stunning beach front location. Located in a secluded area of the island, this property uses solar panels and recycled rain water. Bocas Town is 7 km from the property. Free WiFi is available in the shared lounging areas. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and various refreshments at the on-site bar and restaurant. This property follows permaculture principles: energy is generated by the sun and a back up generator while water is collected by a rain catchment system. Most of the grey water is used to water the gardens. Bike hire is available at the property and the area is popular for snorkeling and hiking. Bluff Beach located 1 minute away. Within walking distance to La Curba and Dumper surf breaks. Paunch surf break is 15 minutes away. 4 miles from Bocas town.
The views and atmosphere were just lovely! We enjoyed the crashing waves and pleasant sound of rain during our stay. Our cottage had spectacular views of the beach below, with a nice balcony to relax and take it all in. There was a sloth right outside the balcony of the main common area while we were eating dinner and a toucan kept us company during breakfast. Although this place is a bit remote and there isn't much around it (which is a positive!), we did walk up to a restaurant just 15 minutes up the road that was really good, plus the food at Tesoro Escondido was quite good too. Just stock up on beverages and snacks in Bocas before you head up to Bluff Beach.

We stayed for a few nights in the most charming room , with the amazing sound of the ocean in our ears, seeing colibri while having a delicious breakfast cooked by Nadia or her partner. They were helpful and friendly and, i guess, having the best job in the world :) .

My husband Chris and I were looking for a place to unplug and get away from everything. Tesoro was perfect. Very intimate, beautiful, surrounded by jungle and wildlife with amazing views of the water. We stayed in the mariposa cabin, and could not have been happier. The food was tasty and Tom and the staff put together a lovely dinner for New Years Eve. We saw sloths, monkeys, bats, and the resident cats and dogs. Our only regret is that surf is really big during the time of year we went, so we didn’t get to swim at the private beach, but we knew that was likely before we booked there. However, we really enjoyed mornings and evenings sitting on our porch and watching the waves and birds.

If you are looking for a relaxed stay this is the best place to stay. We stayed here 2 nights. This is 4km from Bocas town. All you hear all day and night is the waves rushing in and out, and the birds, and insects chirping. Nadia and her family will cook meals and prepare drinks for a price. You do not have to leave here to get anything. So very relaxing. We saw a sloth by our private deck area this morning in the trees. Would stay here a again. Thank you Nadia and family.

Let star with if you look at this place in the internet you should know that is 7 k outside of downtown so don’t star you review by saying too far from downtown look like you don’t read. anyway Very cool place staff is very helpful and nice we stayed 4 nights and it was very nice and clean. Breakfast was so good the view is the best. Only one thing I will recommend to the owner 6” fan don’t work for this weather you need to have the big fan in the room. Other then that I do recommend this place.

Let me start by saying I have been on a lot of vacations and I would say this one tops them. They where so accommodating. wow first they made sure we where picked up by the taxi and told us where too go to get groceries and set up with the taxi that we would need ice. We get there and Mary says hey I know how important the fridge is for your family vacation so if you want and don't mind would you like too stay in the long term rental but let me warn you it's not in the best shape it needs too be painted and stuff because the renter just left. Well the first cabin was awesome and one thing they didn't tell me about the cooler that it was an igloo marine cooler and I would have been fine with it. But we looked at the other option and it was awesome really awesome so of course we pick that one. So I left my ice in the cooler and the block lasted for 4 days and that was with me chipping away at it for drinks. Sorry again for breaking the knife. The outdoor bathroom and shower where so cool. The place is in the middle of the jungle you will see bats, bugs and yes a couple of we'll feed cats who will keep you company when you miss yours at home. All in all I really recommend this place but it's not for everyone it's out of town what I loved and if you don't like nature your own private beach (and we really where lucky we went swimming and snorkelling everyday) then it might not be for you. But if you like peace and quiet in nature then give it a try because I'll be back forsure.…

Nice place - we stayed in the Guest House - on the sea. The managers of the Guest House were really friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and clean, only the breakfast was quite expensive. But we didn't expect the place to be so isolated. It's indeed quite far from the city and the only way to reach it is to go by taxi (quite expensive) or bus (mainly always full so impossible to get in). So if you should stay a few days, then it's starting being boring to only go to Bluff.

What an amazing place! Could definitely speak of paradise... The only regret I have is not staying longer to enjoy the peace in this fantastic Eco Lodge. Nadia and Salvatore are great, very welcoming and make you feel like home. Thank you for that. We wll definitely be back some day (let's not wait 20 years...)

Overall this lodge seemed to be good value for money and close to a very nice beach. There are pro's & con's of staying here: CON'S - the place is 15 USD taxi ride away from Bocas town, where all the tours/ busses/ planes leave from - if you plan on going there every night, maybe not the best option for you - it's very basic - comparable to a medium-quality hostel...not too clean, very hippie property, dogs staying there, mainly couples/ young people staying there - the food is not good. We had 2x breakfast and apart from scrambled eggs they couldn't really cook. Out of my 3 pancakes 1 was completely black and the others were as well quite burned - the common kitchen is very dirty - we had to clean the pots and plates before using them, there were several big cockroaches in the kitchen.. - It's quite expensive, we payed 178 USD for 2 nights & 2 breakfasts for 3 people... (Breakfast is extra) PRO's - it's far off from everything, therefore very quiet. We just had noise from people coming back from partying on Sat night, otherwise no cars/ dogs etc - it's close to the beautiful Bluff Beach - but there are nicer resorts there that also have good food (eg. Oasis Bluff Beach Resort or The Terrace at Island Plantation). - We had hot water and electricity- wifi was not the best, but it worked - nice view on the water from the common area - lots of green near the lodge, many animals (like colibris) nearby in the evening - small private beach right next to the lodge Would recommend staying in another place, unless you are looking for hippie vibes, cooking your own food and being away from everything else.…

First of all why two stars? One star because of the sloth in the tree on the property and a second star because the location is nice. Which means that the Lodge is located perfect for experienced surfers between bluff beach and paunch. Both good surfing spots. And they also serve tasty breakfast. We booked the smallest and cheapest room located on the southwest corner. In the first two mornings we got woken up by the managers barking dog. And it started raining for the whole week. Water started to drip from the ceiling and in to the electric plugs and wiring. This was solved by covering the floor over our room with a tarp. As it didn’t stop raining the power was supplied by a diesel generator which ran in the garage close to our room. Not only the noise was disturbing but also the fumes ruined the air in our room. This lead to our first room change. The manager put us in tortuga cabin with own kitchen and ocean view on own porch. No extra charge except somebody makes a reservation, then we would have to change the room. The storm picked up and created massive waves breaking underneath us. It was impossible to sleep. Next day we changed the room for the second time. This time on the top floor of the main house. As we entered the room we noticed stinky poo in our room. In that night we woke up by a screaming animal in the roof of our room. The next morning we claimed and wanted it to be removed. After 1,5 hours somebody came and removed some wood planks close to the poo (picture). Three bats were living there and got finally killed. The poo was mostly cleaned. My girlfriend waited downstairs in the breakfast area. Nobody offered her a coffee or breakfast, so no good service. The next day there was poo again on the same place. So obviously there were more bats. We asked the manager to have a look but she never came. This was on our last day so she basically didn’t care and waited for us to check out. Since there were only five guests but six volunteers during our stay there are absolutely no excuses for the managers behavior. Also this bathroom was stinking because after flushing some of the yellow pee water came back. During our stay we often didn’t have power and water. It’s not even worth to comment the WiFi. A dinner with meat costs 13,50$ without tax!? For meals that don’t satisfy in my opinion. I have seen cleaner kitchens in hostels. The local couple were the only people hard working and taking care of the property. The owner wasn’t there the whole time. This place propably was nice five years ago. It is just not given the proper amount of care. Problems aren’t solved properly. For example instead of repairing roofs, they put tarps over. Pura Vida, Island life and “off the grid” seems to be the explanation. Ecolodge (Dieselgenerator) and 2,5 stars are a joke. After arguing with the manager about the price we got one night for free. Her lack of compassion made us angry and she doesn’t care about reviews, she said. …
