We stopped for one-night at the Domaine de Barres while travelling between Lyon and Toulouse. Very beautiful setting, great indoor pool and dinner was absolutely wonderful. We have an extremely relaxing stay and the staff was very attentive. Pre-dinner drinks were pretty good too! If you're in the area, this is the spot you should consider!
after the reservation we unfortunately had to change the arrival an departure dates twice - which was handled very professionally by the staff. so even the pre-arrival experience was very good. the room was clean, everything in good working order. we enjoyed the pool, the sauna as well as the bar for drinks and snacks. the half board was an excellent choice. although the price (around 35 euros per person) was a bit high, the quality and variety of the food was excellent. the staff was charming and very friendly, yet sometimes not very attentive. the main drawback: the tables outside the bar were very dirty, it seems that noone felt responsible for cleaning them.
Top location, very nice building, lots of green and big yarden plus golf court. This hotel gives you this special French feeling. I really like that. Relaxing swimming pool and parking for the car inside the domaine. A hotel to return to despite the rather small room and even smaller bath room
This was our sixth stop on a 12 day tour around France and definitely our favourite, a perfect package of great facilities, relaxation, amazing food and setting. We had a very friendly greeting from the lady on reception. She explained all about the spa/pool free towels and robes and slippers in the room. I had the pool to myself while my partner enjoyed a drink of the patio. We had a delicious evening meal with fantastic service throughout. It felt very special. This Chateau hotel is off the main road, however, definitely worth the detour for the way you feel after your visit.
A very warm welcome greeted us on arrival. Our room overlooked the drive & although small was quiet. The Hotel is quite a large building which includes a pool & Spa facilities. A large bar & lounge area which was comfortable & relaxing . Dinner was excellent & I commend the chef on his expertise of flavours - very enjoyable. I imagine this hotel would appeal to Families as there are Cabins available in the grounds & extensive walking & biking areas nearby. Overall a most enjoyable stay. The staff were excellent .
