The Darnley had been closed for a while because of financial restraints. Myself and daughter popped in for soup, during a small shopping engagement. The place was clean and welcoming. The staff were friendly. There was a buffet service; we both had soup, which was tasty and fresh. It was good value; must try something more substantial the next time.

Myself, my partner and our 3 kids were visiting family in Athboy today. We decided to drop into the Darnley Lodge for dinner, after hearing nothing but good reviews about the place. We ordered our food, for 2 adults and 3 children. The children's menu is fairly standard and when the food came, 2 out of 3 of the kids... More

We decided to stay for 2 nights at the Darnley for the occasion of my Daughter's Concert on 25th May. We checked in on Tuesday afternoon with Mary, the Receptionist who was most helpful, not only assisted us to our Room personally, but when we saw a very low, but beautiful chair, we asked if we could have 2 higher... We ate here on saturday 3rd of May and were shocked by the poor standard of service, very much out of character for the Darnley. staff seemed to be away with the faires, were like zombies when they did appear which was rare.. our waitress came and asked if we were finished our starters, not if everything was ok... my...
