We spent 4 days over Easter in a Studio Cabin, wow. Firstly, lets talk about location. The six cabins were placed discreetly behind some trees, away from the rest of the camp ground and yet not isolated. A 100mt stroll had you at the location of the 4pm 'Happy Hour' where one could purchase an array of drinks at reasonable...

You've got it in one. Takarakka's the perfect spot. Thanks so much for the lovely review. Brilliant to hear you were able to kick back and enjoy all that we have to offer. Sitting around the fire pit with a few beverages and solving the world's issues couldn't be any easier or more comfortable. We hope to see you again...

Takarakka is the ideal place to stay when exploring the wonderful Carnarvon Gorge. Staff were very helpful with suggestions about walking trails and platypus viewing. During school holidays, happy hour is on every afternoon. The showering amenities are homely but were always clean - just stay alert for local wildlife that might take up a position in the showers!! The...

Stayed in our own accomodation (camper trailer) campsites were clean, large and tree shaded. Clean amenities, excellent and friendly staff and activities. Close to the gorge. Beautiful surroundings and lots of wildlife to see.

The studio accommodation was excellent, it is all you need, a home away from home. Facilities and staff were exceptional. Lots of wildlife to see and enjoy. Could not fault. Happy hour was awesome. A good place to meet other people and enjoy chatting and catching up. Extremely relaxing place to unwind. Carnarvon Gorge and the walks is a must....

Good place to camp. Good shared camp kitchen and bathroom block. Got attacked by birds while making breakfast :) Place is amazing and would be great for anyone who loves exploring the outdoors. Make sure to explore all of the gorge.

Thanks for the review. We recommend 4 - 6 days to explore the gorge and balance adventure with relaxing. The opportunistic Kookaburras can certainly be pesky if you are not as keen eyed as they are. We do warn guests not to feed them yet if there is a particularly confident bird who has had a taste of breakfast in...

Great to see you enjoyed your stay and had such awesome wildlife encounters. We work very hard to keep the wildlife safe, flourishing and undisturbed. It's not at all unusual to have an echidna wander into your campsite, a platypus swimming close by and kangaroos lazily resting under the shade of your awnings. Life as we know it is pretty...

My partner and I stayed in the new studio accommodation for 2 nights recently during the school holidays. Listed below are the positives, negatives and things I’ll do differently next time we visit. Positives: The studio apartment was clean and each had their own somewhat private deck. The walks were easy enough to do (I’m unfit and still managed the...

Sorry to hear that our lovely new mattresses were not to your personal liking. It's tricky to please everyone therefore we choose to hold very high quality medium firm mattresses which tends to tick the box for the majority of our wonderful guests. Pleased to hear you enjoyed the beauty of Carnarvon Gorge, the awesome wildlife and walking experiences. As...

Not at all as expected... if you are travelling in a large assertive group you could have a great time... if not, be prepared to suffer it out... good, clean facilities but no phone coverage, extremely limited internet and 1 public phone that consumes coin in record time... I love kids but in this setting I was not expecting groups...

So glad you were able to appreciate the beautifully maintained facilities and it's a such a shame to hear that you were not able to enjoy the unplugged life of visiting a remote area with out the distractions of phones and fast internet. For those who love kids but don't choose to holiday with them, it's always best not to...

We spent 5 lovely nights glamping with another family at this beautiful location, just a few minutes drive from Carnarvan National Park and Gorge. The facilities are great, with various camping options and a central communal kitchen and BBQs. My family of three stayed in an ensuited safari tent, which had a double bed, single bed, fan and small fridge....

Great to hear you all had a terrific stay and were able to book in for the yummy roast dinners. You certainly need to be quick as they are very popular. As you will have seen we can't provide kettles in the safari tents as the power supply is low voltage and doesn't allow it, however I hope you were...
