We stayed at Jumana for 2 nights only to check it out and see if we will like it for future visits. Initially we wanted to stay at the new banyan tree buahan but that was fully booked so we decided on Jumana which used to be a banyan tree property. Gosh , this resort must habe been absolutely amazing back in the glorious days of banyan tree! We found out about the ongoing construction work and that most facilities are closed by coincidence when we checked some reviews here on Tripadvisor. I can tell that honestly it is not true that people are made aware of this when booking on various online sites, i have yet to see it mentioned on sites like agoda, booking or expedia. This can be very misleading for people booking like a whole week and finding out when they arrive at the hotel. Now it must be said that the pricing was quite fair for what you get. Yes almost everything was closed, only one restaurant open, but at least they opened up a spa facility in one of the villas which was very much appreciated. We specifically asked for a quiet villa in advance and were assured that we wouldn't be disturbed by the construction work. Sadly, minutes after we moved into our villa, the sawing and drilling started in one villa above us. We were able to move villa later in the day but it's not what i wanted, to change rooms in a 2 nights stay only. The rooms are amazing, what one would expect from a brand like banyan tree. But after two years of covid and the change in management which apparently is Hilton now, it's in desperate need of some renovation. While i expected Melasti beach to be a lot nicer and less crowded, the staff at the beach club were amazing, very helpful and super nice to chat with. They really care about their customers, top notch service and food. We had a nice stay , it just wasn't WoW.

We booked 2 weeks at Jumana Bali to celebrate mine and my wifes 50th birthdays this year. We booked in Jan 22 to visit in Aug 22. We were advised the resort was in the process of becoming part of Hilton group and we enquired if there would be refurbishment as part of this process. We were told there would be minimal work that would not impact our stay. In May the resort contacted us to confirm our booking and there was no mention of any additional closures. To our shock my wife visited their website 7 weeks before the visit to find that a significant amount of the facilities were closed - Main reception / main pool / spa / restaurant / gym was a temp arrangement - etc. I tried to contact the resort and took 7 attempts to speak to someone. When I spoke to the Duty Manager he told me that we would have been informed 14 days before by e-mail ! This is appalling customer service, I asked for the details of the Regional Manager but was told they couldn't give me his details ! They passed us his PA details and I wrote him an e-mail via her 2 months ago and I'm still awaiting a reply ! We cancelled our visit - best thing we did. We stayed at Jumeirah Bali which is an absolutely dream resort - the best holiday experience we have ever had. Please see my review. If you are planning to stay at Jumana Bali Ungasan - do some homework before you go and if you can switch to Jumeirah Bali.

Responded Aug 29, 2022
Dear Paul F, Firstly I would like to apologize for your experience when booking and communicating with our hotel. We do our utmost to keep all guest informed about what facilities are available during the renovation but unfortunately some times schedule changes and hence we do follow up with our guests 2 weeks before their stay to update on the latest information. I'm not sure whom you tried to contact on email but feel free to contact me directly on jesper.blarsen@hilton.com if I can assist you in any way. Because of your experience we have made some adjustments to avoid this happening to others in the future, but that obviously does not change your experience and for that I apologize. I am glad to hear that you did come to Bali anyway to enjoy this beautiful Island of the Gods and I hope you will re-consider visiting us in the future after our complete renovation some time in 2023. Sincerely, Jesper

Jasper GM of the resort has been very sincere and thoughtful to make the experience right. He checks in with all the guest during breakfast and attend to their feedback personally. At the restaurant Eni was extremely attentive and friendly. Location is very near nice beach clubs too!! Overall I would look forward to visit again after the refurbishment.

My friend and I stayed one night in the One Bedroom Pool Villa with Premiere Ocean View. Probably nearly double the price of the villa with just a garden view but it was WORTH THE SPLURGE. Our jaws dropped as soon as the staff opened the front door. Words cannot describe how impressive it was. Absolutely immaculate, spacious, and just that feeling of being in paradise. The views were INCREDIBLE - the vast expanse of the Indian ocean was in front of us from every angle. This was the ultimate highlight of the stay. We didn't have a true cliff side view, but it was already pretty much unobstructed. A lot of time was spent in the jacuzzi admiring the view. Rolling out of bed straight into the pool was also another definite highlight as was the hidden gem of the outdoor shower (the water pressure was amazing). We basically locked ourselves in the villa from check-in until check-out and ordered room service three times. Dining prices were expensive for Bali but that was to be expected for such luxurious accommodations. Staff were so lovely and service was top-notch. As soon as we entered the villa, incense was lit and this amazing mood music was played. In fact when recording a villa tour video almost all viewers commented on the lovely background music. There was also an option to have the villa cleaned in the evening but we opted out of that. Room service was also delivered in a timely manner and the food was delicious and filling. Also a taxi was called promptly the next morning and was waiting to take us to our next destination by the time we checked out. Ultimately, this place can't be described in words - you need to actually be there to experience it. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend to anyone who wants that top-notch luxury paradise in Bali experience.

My wife and I stayed at the Jumana Bali Ungasan Resort for six nights in May of 2022. Would I recommend this resort to a friend? Yes. Would I stay their again knowing what I know now about the resort? Yes! We had a 1 bedroom king cliff side pool villa. It had unobstructed views of the ocean and the beach below. No other villas could see into our villa’s garden or pool area. It was very private and secluded. Which we loved. It was also walking distance from the restaurant which made it nice. The infinity pool was amazing. The bedroom sliding glass patio doors opened directly into the pool. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our villa was very clean and modern. It was so big it actually had to have 2 wi-fi networks. We opted for the breakfast and supper packages with our villa. I don’t think I would do that again. Breakfast is a huge buffet and I simply don’t eat that much for breakfast. As for the 3 piece supper plan, I would just go a la carte as the set menu includes dessert which I also generally do not eat. However, the hotel is 5star so the prices at the restaurant are 5star prices ($$$). Not getting the dining options also also you to go out and enjoy local restaurants too. If you found my review helpful please let me know by giving me a Thumbs Up.

Stayed 2 nights in Ocean villa type. Heavenly. Very clean outside and inside the room, even for the pool. Pool is big for a private villa size, with a jacuzzi. Pool and jacuzzi are overlooking the ocean. Property and villa is new. Staffs are responsive and friendly. Although the public area like swimming pool is only 1 and not that big, it is clean and it is the infinity pool.

My husband and i stayed in the 2 br ocean view villa. The rooms were huge and pool was long enough for us to have a real swim. We had the ocean view which was perfect and the sunsets were beautiful. Service was on point as well. We also went to the melasti beach when the tide was high. Water was so clean and not many people there.
