Currently Sundowners is undergoing renovation and hence the restaurant was not available. I had the chance to book a unit with double bed for myself and my daughter (4) during this period. All was clean and very convenient. Especially the staff is very helpfull and thoughtfull. I can recommend the Sundowners and it will be even a better experience, if the restaurant is operational as Matsapha Shopping Centre is around 7 Km away. I have been told, they make the best pizza. Something to look forward. If you require Wifi-Internet connection, this only works in the lounge and is very slow. No connection to the rooms. But not a concern, if you do not require permanent connectivity. What would be a nice consideration is a playground for children. But then I trust the main clientiele are backpackers and they do not use the playground. I would recommend Sundowners as well for business travellers. Especially if you are out during the day and only need a basic room and bed for the night.…
A hostel with a kitchen, swimming pool and a bar. All staff are very friendly, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for renovations, but the owner drove us to get some take out.
We arrived right at dusk on what we thought was going to be a 1 night stay at Sundowners. Turns out the lax atmosphere and close proximity of Mbabane, the Cultural Village, Swazi Tours and meeting great friends and the owners got us to stay another night. The restaurant, essentially attached to the hostel, was a great place to meet for coffee in the morning or for drinks after dinner while we played some pool outside on the patio. Great central location for Bushfire festival, too.
We stayed here for two nights while traveling from Mozambique to Durban,South Africa. Price was ok but no wifi and bugs. The adjacent restaurant was a God send Good food at very fair prices. Problem is it closed up early. The place is in the middle of nowhere! And I mean it. It's on a main road but it rained so much we never left. Not sure if I'd recommend it?
Loved staying here . Third time around . Usually stay here Bushfire festival season and it has became my favorite place to stay when i am in Swaziland . Although its a little far from the actual festival it makes in quiet and likable. Transport is easy to find and Bushfire festival is less that 5 kms away . Its always clean and the staff are always friendly.
