We really enjoyed our stay here, smallish but well resented room with en-suit, but the pub was fantastic. Food simply amazing quality and we could not fault the service either. Simply great. Will definitely try to go again!

An old aquaintance called me and invited me for lunch. The choice was easy it is my local, which is very good. We both had steak and kidney pie which is superb. The portions were massive and delicious.

This is a thoroughly nice place. The location is good, offering easy access from the A303, the ambience is quiet and team there are nice. The While Lion has a good selection of beers and the food is of a very high standard - well cooked, and using decent ingredients. And the menu on offer is sufficiently broad for most...

Had a super meal with friends in this very pleasant hostelery, pleasant staff, interesting character Inn. Dogs welcome. All in all well worth a visit. I think it might be advisable to pre book. As a small point, there are some good walks in the area and StourheadNT Is close by.

Arrived without a reservation and they did not hesitate to find our family a table on what looked like a busy night. Fantastic service and plenty good food. The chunky chips were huge! Definitely recommend if you are passing. Or like us went just out of our way to find.

We had booked our table for 1.30 but we didn't turn up until about 2.15 - and the staff were absolutely fine. Very friendly atmosphere, very unspoilt and the food was lovely. We'll be going back for sure.

We have been here a couple of times now, the latest was for a Birthday on New Years day. We had a lovely table in the main restaurant, food was very good and plentiful. The staff are friendly and service efficient. Lovely surroundings and pleasant atmosphere. A good all round pub and well recommended.

Local recommendation for family Boxing Day lunch so we decided to'risk' it. The bar was very lively and the dining room full of character (well-behaved dogs allowed). Wide choice of food available, all reasonably priced. Everything we chose, from roast dinner, through fish dishes to vegetarian was excellent, well-cooked and HOT! Staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. Our only quibble...
