Always busy and popular with a variety of locals, this is a great place for a drink or meal. Informal and friendly, it has a nice feel to it and a large garden to enjoy in the warmer months. Sometimes has live music.

We thought we'd have a small lunch before a wedding. When our order came it was a huge spread! The menu did not do justice to the food on the plate, which is unusual. Usually it's the other way round. So this pretty pub with charming service and good foodis highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of having here on Friday evening. Although the menu is quite small it has a good choice. We both had the steak and kidney pie. It was a huge portion and very tasty. The pub has a good choice of beers on tap and as we were leaving a band was setting up and there was... More

A great favourite of ours but previously been disappointed on several occasions with the poor service and food so had given it a break. Yesterday was my husband's birthday so we thought we'd try again and it was well worth it! The pub frontage is beautiful and every bit how you would imagine an English Country Pub should look with... Brilliant food, excellent service, thoroughly recommend - book in advance. Landlords could not be more helpful! Pictures to follow. Dogs welcome, on leads. Otter is good pint and had lovely White House wine too. All good. Lovely staff who worked hard to give us a fab lunch.

We travelled down to visit Monkeyworld and Longleat (ouch, how do they justify their prices?) staying in a delightful cottage in Zeals. We had a couple of meals at The White Lion - good choice, and a pleasant place to eat, Staff are welcoming and pleasant. The pub has a large garden and a play area across the road. Steve... More

We used the pub which is close to the National Trust house, Stourhead. This is an old fashioned country pub with nice accomodation. We were looked after by the landlord 'Will' and his staff very well. The food was good pub grub and specials were excellent. Try the seafood medley. It was lovely. We intend to revisit Stourhead in the autumn... More

Supper for special friends on 29th June. Delicious menu, relaxed and attentive staff. Plentiful portions. This is a delightful old English pub - nothing old fashioned here though! - these people know what we like and give it their own 2016 twist.

We recently had Sunday Lunch at The White Lion Inn, the service is very good and welcoming, cosy atmosphere and good range of beers/ciders etc. The menu is traditional and the resulting food is excellent with generous portions and well delivered. Plus they have a boules pitch should the interest take you....
