This place is a gem. My wife and newborn baby came for New Years and everyone treated us like family. I just read the previous reviews and was heartbroken. Some people complain about everything. This place is wonderful and the food is absolutely delicious. One of the few places (sad to say) that offer organic food and put a great deal of love into each dish. Thank you!!
We have spent the past 3 New Years at the Chiang Dao Nest. All years up until this have been quite good in regards to food and service. This year we had a large group staying- about 15 of us. We had dinner which was great and close to the new year countdown we asked for 1 dozen glasses to pour our champagne into (we paid the corking fee). Mind you we had all paid the 500+ baht for buffet dinner plus other drinks. Upon getting the 12 flutes, a incredibly rude woman walked out and yelled at us telling us that the glasses cost 450 baht each and demanding them back. Many of us recognized this woman as the wife to the owner of The Nest. She was incredibly drunk, cussed us all out, and took the prepared flutes back. She also in the process of causing a huge scene kicked a cat right in front of us! It was incredibly embarrassing and sad. I can safely say the our entire group will never stay at this establishment again. It’s a pure shame as the grounds are beautiful.…
Do not stay at this place. The wife of the owner is an absolute pig. Her tone and attitude when we tried to order a meal was disgusting. The food is mediocre at best and very slow to arrive. We really hoped for a nice experience here but for sure will never return.
Great food and very peaceful jungle getaway. Basic, clean rooms with amenities. It was a treat to have a lovely, refreshing pool for this price! This time of year was certainly mosquito season - make sure you are well prepared. Nest staff let me move rooms because of a large huntsman spider. Stay here if you want to be close to nature! The lady who does the bookings and runs the restaurant at Nest 1 is thoughtful and attentive and her service really is faultless.
We enjoyed 5 nights at Nest 1. Our double bungalow accommodation near the pool was very comfortable, clean & in a relaxing, natural environment with the mountain in the background. It had good window screens, a mini bar fridge, air-con & new bathroom. All the staff were fantastic. We had the bbq buffet on Thurs night which was delicious & plentiful. Breakfast at Nest 1 was great as were the dinners we had there. We hired bicycles daily at the Cave Bar & enjoyed riding through town, to the temple & cave. We highly recommend having a 2 hr Thai massage there, organised through the resort, a definite highlight. Highly recommend!
