Malee's Nature Lovers Bungalows are located 1 km north of the Chiang Dao Caves towards Wat Thum Pha Plong. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere of this small paradise in the midst of untouched nature at the foot of the third highest mountain of Thailand Doi Luang Chiang Dao. The cool, refreshing Dhala Pool is located in a cozy garden where our guests can enjoy the magnificent nature. Families with children feel comfortable in our quiet place. Rare birds are often seen in close proximity, making this place a birdwatcher mecca. Other activities at this location include trekking, cave exploration and mountain biking.

We stayed in Malee's 3 nights in family with 2 kids 5 and 8 years old. We were welcomed as family, Malee and her husband and brother were so nice! The place is beautiful with all kind of flowers and a big collection of orchids in the garden. The bungalow was very spacious for the 4 of us. And a lot to do around with good advices (chiang dao caves 2 minutes away, walking in the mountain, birding, hot springs and beautiful waterfall in the national park 30 minutes away by car) The kids loved to play with the dogs. We recommend!!

Malee's is a lovely spot, and true to its name -- perfect for nature lovers. Away from town, at the foot of Chiang Dao Mountain, it's like a little fragment of Eden. The grounds are green and leafy, covered with fruit trees, palms, a dizzying variety of orchids, and it all buzzes with a rich texture of bird songs and insect sounds. Colorful butterflies frequently waft by, adding to the slightly dreamy texture. Good place for a refreshing break from the city! You can walk or bike to Chiang Dao Cave and also the intriguing Tham Pla Pong Temple, with many steps up, leading to a sacred cave. Breakfasts are satisfying; there is no lunch or dinner services, but you can eat at the Nest, directly beside it, or other places a 5-10 minute walk away. The owners, Malee and Kurt, are extremely friendly and hospitable -- and also quite knowledgeable about the area. (They seem to know everyone.) I'll return someday, for sure.

A great place to stay for Chiang Dao. Super cottages with excellent amenities and even a small swimming pool. Super views of the mountain & surrounding forest. Quiet and peaceful. Excellent wifi. Home cooked breakfasts. Friendly owners. Terrace overlooking forest and lovely wooden dining/living areas. Close to local restaurants & a bar. Would recommend

Thank you to Malee, Kurt and Som for hosting us last week. We loved their hospitality, from the delicious breakfasts to the jaw-dropping 2 day jungle hike through the mountains of Chiang Dao. Thanks to Kurt for coming along and adding so much to the trip – with his jungle banter and hiking expertise. The bungalows were clean and tidy and the setting simply divine. There’s some great little eateries nearby where you can tuck into all sorts of cuisine ranging from Thai to Pizzas. We hope one day to be back and Maylees will definitely be our first choice.

Malee's is a fantastic place for anyone seeking a quiet retreat in a splendid setting. The bungalows are all separate and situated here and there in the beautiful gardens Malee and her husband lovingly care for. The resort is surrounded by a verdant and extensive rainforest and Doi Luang N.P. The rooms are not new but they are clean and have their own charms. The bed we had was very comfy. This is something that many Thai guesthouses skimp on and for me, a hard bed would be a deal-breaker. There is a small splash pool on-site and beautiful tropical birds to watch if you're so inclined. Also, a note about breakfast. The usual guesthouse offering is boring; instant coffee, a bit of fruit, toast. Blah! Malee provides a delicious spread; homemade bread with homemade jam, eggs, fruit and wonderful espresso-style coffee. You simply can't go wrong.

What a fantastic oasis this place is. Wonderful cabins in a beautiful setting with jungle all around. The owner Malee is so happy and couldn't do enough for us. Walking distance into the little village for excellent food. Would definitely stay again, for the breakfast alone... and for longer.

This piece of paradise is a real gem. A quiet oasis in lush tropical gardens. The only sound were frogs and birds. Tasteful large bungalows, confortable beds, delicious breakfast and the most hospitable hostess imaginable. A perfect place to really relax and unwind. And don't forget to try Malee's home made bread. To die for. And if you happen to love orchids this is the place to visit. A cool break from the heat of the city. The local wat is also one of the best I've visited.

Sadly we only spent one night here in early March, but longed to have stayed for a week! Malee is an absolute treasure, giving the most wonderful welcome, was superbly helpful in every respect and spoke perfect English. Superbly equipped rustic cabins set in beautiful forested surrounds, with instant access to incredible scenery, temples, walks and dining. Great value too, highly recommended

Malee and her husband Kurt are just the loveliest hosts. Malee created a Chinese New Year feast and invited all of us to be her guests. She also organized a ride for me into town to visit an ATM (there are no ATMs in the area around Malee's!) and, later, a ride to Mai Malai where I caught a bus to Pai. She even let me borrow a warm sweater for when the weather grew quite cold at night. The bungalows are perfectly situated between the mountaintop temple and the cave as well as next store to the restaurant Nest 1. All is quiet and clean. I absolutely recommend staying here when visiting Chiang Dao.
