We are just finishing up a five night stay in a Mountain View room at Smiggins Hotel and it’s just been faultless. The staff in every single area were 5 star amazing, friendly, helpful & just all round faultless customer service. The restaurant food was fantastic, we had a three course meal every single night and everything was cooked to perfection. My friend is vegan and nothing was too much trouble for the chef to adapt for her. My 9 year old daughter absolutely loved the kids club each night & they also did a kids dinner with kids club each night which allowed for us adults to have a little time out. We’d definitely stay again.

Myself and my partner stayed with two grandsons for four days in the chalets building. We had two separate, but interconnected, rooms. both rooms were equipped with two element cooktop, microwave, kettle, toaster, full sized fridge/freezer, sink, dishwasher, cooking utensils, pots/pans, cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs and glassware. There was a small table and four chairs in each room. We noted an absence of personal toiletry items - no soap, shampoo, conditioner. Make sure to bring your own as we did. Each room had three single beds, but one room had two beds configured as a king-sized bed. Beds and pillows were comfortable. All towels/linen was clean and in good order. The bathrooms had a very modern feel with a large shower cubicle, a shower head that gushed huge amounts of hot water and a luxuriously heated floor. The only down-side was that due to the large shower cubicle, access to the toilet was a little cramped. The bedroom/dining/kitchenette area was quite spacious. We found that we needed to move the table out from the wall so that all four of us could sit together for a meal, but this was quite easy to do and was not a problem the few times that we ate a meal in the chalet. Each room had a substantial sized wall-mounted TV with remote control. Due to poor local TV reception, the VAST television service is provided via satellite. So do not expect to watch the same shows that you watch at home (unless, of course, you are from Alice Springs). The wifi coverage and speed was very good in the rooms that we were using, so the kids were entertained by Netflix on an iPad when we were not skiing. If you have a Chromecast or Apple TV available, it would be worth bringing it along - in case of a rainy day. The rooms were warm, clean and seemed to be well maintained. Housekeeping staff emptied bins daily and replenished coffee supplies when necessary. There is a heated "boot room" in the entry area of the Chalet building where there is a lockable airing cupboard allocated to each room. Skis, boots, boards, gloves, helmets, etc can be left in these cupboards to dry out - so there is no need to clutter up the rooms with those items. The Chalet building is about 100m from the main Hotel building. Access is by walking up a sealed road. There was very little snowfall during our stay so this walk between buildings was not an issue - I would imagine that the road could be quite slippery at times though. Vehicles can be driven up to the Chalet building for loading/unloading, but cannot be parked there for the longer term. There are two carpark areas between the Chalet and Hotel buildings, where vehicles can be parked for the duration of your stay. The Hotel building contains more accommodation rooms, but I'm unable to comment on those facilities. There is a private lounge area with a warm wood fire and a private dining room in the Hotel building. There is also a public bar and a public bistro. Hotel/Chalet guests are able to book tables in either the dining room or the bistro. The Hotel building has a duplicate "boot room" for Chalet guests, located on the floor beneath the main part of the Hotel. We found this the most convenient place to store our snow equipment, as it was just a short walk carrying skis from there to the Smiggins lifts or the free shuttle bus to Perisher. Ski/board/clothing hire shop, cafeteria, public toilets, snow sports equipment shop is all located in an arcade on the floor below the main Hotel building and is accessible by an internal stairway in the hotel. We purchased a bed & breakfast package, so walked down to the Hotel dining room each morning for breakfast (from 7:15 to 9:00). All the standard breakfast foods were available (juice, tea, coffee, fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast - self serve) (pre-cooked bacon, sausages, mushrooms, baked beans, tomatoes, hash browns, eggs, croissants - served by staff) (pancakes - cooked on request). We ate dinner in the bistro a couple of times. The menu was fairly limited (but OK) and prices were reasonable. NOTE: steaks, sausages, lamb chops are supplied raw and you cook it yourself on an indoor BBQ arrangement. So bring your gloves as it can get pretty hot turning meat over with the tongs that are provided. It was a good bit of social activity, chatting to some other guy that was cooking his family's dinner too. All of the staff at the Smiggins Hotel & Chalet Apartments were happy, friendly and helpful during our stay. There was a misunderstanding when I settled my final account (mainly my fault for not paying attention) where I was billed for dining room meals rather than bistro meals (a substantial price difference). I became aware that I was overcharged, when I returned home and the error was corrected when I first contacted staff about it. No hassles at all. Overall a very pleasant experience - we all had a great week away at the snow.

Absolutely Fabulous! I’m almost reluctant to write this review as I’d prefer to keep it a secret! It has been our second visit as a large extended family of three generations. The staff from beautiful Belinda to the housekeepers were exceptional. The 3 course dinner meals included in our package were delicious Our grandchildren loved kids club!…….so did the adults! The kids had a supervised dinner in the restaurant at 5:30 then were entertained in the kids club room till 9pm. If they wanted to leave it was fine. The organised activities were creative and varied. The fireworks night was a favourite On top of all this the lodge is positioned at the base of all the lifts in Smiggins Our sincere thanks Belinda. It was a wonderful few days for us all Fingers crossed we see you next year!

Sometimes it’s about the comfort of the room, sometimes it’s about the food, sometimes it’s about the ease of access to the slopes and these things are all excellent. However, this time it’s about the staff. They were really nice, really professional and really friendly right from the start, but once I got stuck down here because my home area went into lockdown, they simply couldn’t have looked after me any better. They have made me feel like a part of their family group that seasonal workers form and I am very grateful. I will certainly be coming back for years to come. Very happy. Well done Belinda and Joel. You have a wonderful, warm crew.

We were so lucky to have had our week here before Sydney was locked down. We've stayed many times and always have the best time! Belinda and the whole staff run this place so well. The meals were amazing as usual, compliments to the chef and the kitchen team! Can't wait to be back!

Stayed here over a long weekend for the last few days of skiing. Rooms were clean and spacious plus we had a nice view of the slopes. But it's the staff that make this hotel stand out. They really went out of their way to help whenever possible and make our stay comfortable/fun. It was end of season so meals were a bit repetitive, but still the best food on offer in the area (by far). The included breakfast buffet was tasty and covered all the basics and they had a few good wines on offer too. Other places we visited had wine on tap. Would definitely recommend.

My family stayed for a ski weekend and we had an enjoyable stay! My boys loved the kids club and dinners were amazing!! The ski on and off access to the chair lifts were so convenient. The rooms are small but comfortable and a little pricey but we expect that from a weekend of skiing!! Thanks again for a lovely weekend, we will surely be back.

We are a family of four. We started at Charlotte's Pass at Stillwell. Changes occurred and Stillwell will never be the same. We tried this place last year and were impressed. We are now on our 4th return and it is our new happy place. Belinda is a delight as is her team who are just happy to help. This is a great family place, or if you just want that nice getaway as a couple its just as good. The fire place is great, the Cocktails are OMG and the food is right up there with the best on the mountain. It needs a better wine list, its actually good, but given the standard of the food and the cocktails you want better. Did I mention the pub with the blues and some of the best fish and chips and soups made. Ski In Ski Out, Parking, this place has it all. But Shhhh don't tell anyone about our secret else you won't get in. Already booked twice for next year.

It is our second visit at this hotel for a ski holiday and Smiggins hotel and appartments proved yet again to be the perfect spot for our family. We were in two connected studio apartments , quite spacious, tastefully furnished and serviced daily by very friendly and professional staff. The heated bathroom floor was a great feature in the cold weather. The food in the restaurant was world class in presentation and taste, enjoyed by the whole family. Pick up of the ski equipment from the rental office was easy and efficient and the staff there was also very friendly and knowledgeable. I could not complete this review without a special mention of the reception staff - absolutely gong the extra mile in these testing times to make sure that our booking and stay was without a hitch. Thank you Smiggins - you deliver excellent service and have great staff!

Our family chose to stay at Smiggins Hotel for our 2020 winter vacation. In amongst the chaos of Covid19 we were lucky enough to secure lift passes for Perisher and book our accomodation with Smiggins Hotel. From the moment we arrived we noticed the fantastic customer service that we would find to be consistent for our entire 4 night stay. From reception, to bar and kitchen staff, they were very friendly and helpful with all of our requirements. We stayed in 2 interconnecting rooms in the hotel. The rooms were serviced daily, and were immaculate for when we returned each afternoon after a day on the slopes. The kids were able to be dropped off for dinner at 6pm, while my wife and I were able to enjoy a 3 course dinner each night from 6.30. The meals were fantastic, and we were impressed with every course throughout our stay. With us staying early in the season there wasn’t enough snow at Smiggins for us to ski, but the staff not only offered a shuttle service to Perisher (2mins down the road), they also set us up with complimentary lockers at Perisher so we didn’t need to lug our skis back to the car each afternoon. For our next family holiday to the snow we will definitely rebook with Smiggins Hotel. Next time, I’ll make sure that smiggins lifts are ready to be open so we can utilise the ski-in, ski-out option.
